Chapter 34: Dog Searching
Chapter 34: Dog Searching
Chapter 34: Dog Searching
I took Prim and walked out of the castle.
Elsa, a member of the Kingsguard, is also accompanying us.
We came to the Adventurers' Guild.
?Oh, so this is the Adventurer's Guild? Prim said. ?What a bunch of rude, unrefined people!?
??Ah?!??
The adventurers in the area were furious by her overly frank statement.
However, Prim, who has a lot of guts, didn't seem to mind.
?I'm really sorry! I'm really sorry!?
Instead, Elsa bowed and apologized profusely.
Perhaps Elsa have been use to this because the speed at which she lowered her head was unusual.
?Father, why are you bringing Prim-sama to the Adventurers Guild......??
?Well, there's something I want to do?
I looked at the bulletin board in the center of the room and found a suitable assignment.
?Oh, this one? I peeled off the request form and took it to the receptionist.
?Ah, isn't that you, Kaizer-san!?
?Monica-chan I'd like to take this assignment.?
?Is it another B-rank or A-rank mission? Hmm? Searching for an escaped dog, rank E??
?Yes please?
?You must be very fond of things, Kaizer-san, to go to the trouble of taking on a low-rank mission. You seem to have some kind of obscene sexuality.?
?Why are saying all of that when I'm just trying to take the assignment??
After I finished the registration of the assignment, I took Prim and Elsa outside the guild. Then I turned to them and said.
?With that being said... we are going to go searching for the dog now?
?Hey, Kaiser. Is this what you call interesting??
?Yes. I wish I could ask for the princess's help. This is the sketch of the dog. She was reported missing in the residential area.?
I handed Prim the sketch I had received from Monica.
?I don't think I'll find the dog hunt very interesting......?
?Well well. Just think you have been deceived.?
?Fumu, If you say so, I'll ride along......?
Prim says so,
?You said it was the residential area that she missing. So let's head there, we should find her soon and get this over with.?
We go to the residential area.
The buildings were high and intricate.
The alleys are scattered like a maze.
There were many dimly lit areas, even in the daytime.
We walked around for a while but it was two days ago that the dog have gone missing.
It was not so easy to find.
?Haa. Haa......?
Prim was out of breath early.
?Princess. Would you like to rest??
Elsa asked with concern.
?Uh-huh. I'd like to sit down and drink some water... Hmm! Oh, hey! Look! Isn't that the dog over there??
Prim's eyes, which had been exhausted, were wide open.
She pointed to a place, a medium-sized mongrel dog was walking at the end of the alley. Prim looked excited and compared it over and over with the sketch in her hand.
?There's no doubt. It's the dog?
Elsa responded.
?Prim-sama, please leave it to me. I'll get it...? I took Elsa's arm just as she was about to run.
?No. You can't help her here. We have to let the princess handle this.?
?But....... Prim-sama's power is out of proportion to her stamina. I'm afraid she'll have a hard time catching the dog.?
?Elsa, you thought of me that way.?
?I'm sorry! It was a slip of the tongue!?
?Damn. As a royalty I can't stay idle after being underestimated. I'll personally catch that dog!?
Prim said.
?Wait!?
She ran off toward the dog.
Dotadotadota
(T/N: SFX for the step she make. Raw: ??????……?)
Because of the loud footsteps, the dog noticed her.
?Woof!?
The dog turns on its heel and runs away deeper into the alley.
?Like I'll let you escape!?
Prim still tries to chase the dog but her feet grown in the castle are incomparable to the feet of a dog raised in the wild.
The distance between us was getting shorter and shorter, and eventually we lost sight of it.
?Ugh......! It got away from me. That dog......it ran as if it was mocking me.?
?Princess, don't mind?
?I should give her a hand here?
?No need. I've been mocked this far. In the name of royalty, I'll catch that dog all by myself!?
Prim clenched her fists tightly.
?Dog, I will have your head!?
?Princess. You can't take its head.?
I can't give the owner the head.
It would only like to be taken alive.
?
Then we started searching for the dog again.
Prim had spotted the dog many times, running around each time, but she had lost sight of it because she was not as strong as the dog legs.
Eventually, it was time for the sun to set.
?Princess. It's getting dark now. Why don't we leave for the day? Her Majesty will be worried.?
?No! We've come this far!?
Prim dismissed Elsa's advice.
?It went down this alley a while ago. That means if we can drive it into the dead end up ahead, we can......?
She mumbled a strategy.
Having grasped the terrain of the residential area, Prim seemed to be making plans to catch the dog. What she lacks in running ability, she seems to be trying to make up for in intelligence.
That's good
It was then that she spotted the dog again.
?All right! Found it! After it!?
Prim ran out to the dog.
The dog turned on its heel and ran off. It ran nimbly with a bouncy gait. But it was only being guided.
The alley he was running down was a dead end.
No matter how good a runner you are, you can't get over a wall of almost five meters. The dog stands there with nowhere to go.
?Fuu fuu fuu. I've got you cornered now!?
Prim gradually closed the distance between her and the dog.
?Haa!?
She tackled the body of the dog.
She hug it tightly with both hands.
?Princess! Please put this collar on that dog's neck!? I threw the collar, and Prim put it on the dog's neck while struggling.
With the lead attached, it will be impossible to escape.
?I got it! I got it!?
Prim looked at us with a sparkling expression on her face.
?Well done, princess.?
?Princess! You did it!?
I and Elsa applauded with words of praise.
?Fuu fuu fuu. I'm the princess of this country, you know. So this is easy for me. Although my physical strength is inferior, the difference in intelligence is obvious.?
Elsa had a proud smile on her face.
It was probably because she had been chasing the dog in the narrow alley all day. The dress she had worn was stained with dirt.
But...
The figure seemed to sparkle and shine.
?Hmmm. It's already this late. Normally the sun sets late, but today it was unusually early......?
?That's how enthusiastic the princess was.?
I said
?Did you enjoy it??
?Let see....... Yeah ....... I had a great time today. More than anything, I feel good about the satisfaction of having accomplished things on my own.?
?Fun is something you have to try to get from yourself rather than waiting for someone else to give it to you.?
?I see. I suppose you're right.?
Prim nodded
?Thank you both for hanging out with me today. Thanks to you, I've had the most precious time I've ever had.?
?I'm glad.?
?Will you...... accompany me again next time??
?Of course?
?I will accompany you too.?
?Umu?
Prim had a smile on her face.
?When I get home, I'll tell my mother about today. It's an adventure about how I caught a dog.?
