Even though they were unable to force Uddroth to stay inside Jack's mega spell for its full duration, all the chained attacks had reduced Uddroth's HP to nearly 70%. The white flames from Jack's infernal Cleansing Flame were also still burning Uddroth's body. The dragon didn't feel any pain, though.
With the boost from the Strength of Hope, Jack continued to fight the fire dragon together with elevated Therras. He sent his two clones to help the defenders, they were too weak to provide any meaningful contribution after using the rune technique and mega spell. From their eyes, he saw the defenders continued to get pushed back.
Not only that, he received reports from multiple parts that more and more of the zombie soldiers climbed up the wall. A few had even entered the city and wreaked havoc. They were as if fighting an unstoppable tide. It was just a matter of time before everything fell apart. Yet, he didn't want to give up.
When hope seemed to be diminishing, he received a message, "King Storm Wind, we see that you can use a hand."
Jack saw the message sender. It was Saint Jonathan, John's father, who was also the player representative who marched with the Sangrod army.
"Uncle…? Please tell me you are nearby!" Jack replied.
"It's weird having you call me uncle. Please, just call me Jonathan. We already have the battle in sight. Hold tight. We will arrive soon."
"Wait! Can you spare a portion of your army? Preferably the death dealers Vanessa brought when she went to Palgrost. They are with your army, aren't they? I have a target for them."
The death dealers were one of Sangrod's special units. They were fast-moving light units with high DPS, similar to Everlasting Heavenly Legends' Blood counts. But while Blood Counts were more akin to the assassin class, the death dealers were more equipped for direct combat. They were more of a light cavalry unit.
Each death dealer brought a shadow warg as a battle pet. At night, they and their pets could camouflage themselves into shadows and mists, turning them more deadly. Unfortunately, although the evening was approaching, it was still a couple of hours before sunset.
"Tell me your target," Jonathan replied to Jack.

On the other side, Arther was having trouble. He was not Eurdrasill's equal. Once his Sphere of Aegis ended, he was easily tossed around by the wood dragon. It was mostly the archdemon lord who kept Eurdrassil busy.
However, the archdemon lord was a ranged spellcaster. Several times it was forced into a melee exchange by Eurdrassil. It lost more HPs compared to the dragon. There was little Arther could do to change the situation.
In his frustration, Arther made a forceful charge at the dragon, only to be smacked by Eurdrassil's powerful tail. Arther slammed into the ground below, losing a large chunk of his life in the process.
While he was trying to get up, several large pods fell to the ground around him. These pods opened and revealed treant-like creatures. Arther's Inspect informed him that these creatures were forest elementals. Each of them was level 85 rare elites. There were twelve of them.
These elementals were summoned by Eurdrasill.
Arther didn't want to bother with these summoned creatures. His silvery wings spread again. But before he could fly far, he was snatched by the woody tentacles of these forest elementals. Arther swung his swords to cut these tentacles, but more and more latched onto his body. With the combined might of the forest elementals pulling at him, he was forced back into the ground again.
These forest elementals then swarmed at him. Their skin was very durable and their tentacles had thorns. They caused damage simply by latching onto their targets. They also exuded poisonous fumes that dealt earth damage and caused the Poison effect.
Arther's greatsword flared with Ki Weapon. He used Double Whirlwind Slash. The move beat the forest elementals back, but only for an instant. They quickly advanced again with their multi-tentacle appendages.
Arther continued swinging his greatsword left and right. He had no problem fighting these forest elementals despite being outnumbered, but he didn't want to spend too much time dealing with these creatures. Jack gave him the order to support the archdemon lord. An order he was unable to carry out at this moment.
After several rounds of fierce exchanges, Arther defeated two out of the twelve forest elementals, but this took too long. When he was frustrated by these obstacles, a crimson-thorned whip coiled around a forest elemental close to him. It was then violently pulled away.
Several flame darts with the shape of bats flew in. They hit the forest elementals and exploded. Those elementals received burn effects after the explosion. The thorned whip returned then. It whipped in all directions, hitting all the forest elementals. The whip-wielder showed herself then.
"Vanessa…?!" Arther exclaimed.
"Hello, young Arther. It's always thrilling to see your handsome face," Vanessa greeted with a seductive smile that revealed her vampire fangs.
Arther shivered involuntarily. His heartbeat turned slightly faster. "What… What are you doing here?" He asked.
"What do you mean what am I doing here? Do you forget already that our two countries are allies?" Vanessa asked back. "You people had rushed ahead disregarding the plan. We have finally caught up with you."
Behind her, the army she brought came crashing into the Liguritudum army. Some of the vampire soldiers charged ahead and took on the surviving forest elementals.
The Liguritudum army had been focusing on trying to breach the gap. With the Sangrod army hitting their rear, they couldn't maintain their advancing momentum. It gave the defenders the time to strengthen their formation.
Arther was relieved to see this reinforcement. Although the zombie army was still pushing from every direction, at least the defense in the gap should be manageable for now.
A sudden inhuman cry from above drew his attention. He and Vanessa looked up, only to see Eurdrasill's divine wind breath pierce through the archdemon lord's chest. Its HP had fallen to zero from that breath. Even when Eurdrasill couldn't use mana manipulation, he was still a true dragon. The archdemon lord was unable to contend alone against the dragon for long.
"No…!" Arther yelled as the archdemon lord turned to dust.
