Chapter 192: Chapter 43. A New Life

«Dear Diary! The years go by, the seasons change, and even people are no longer the same. But one thing remains unchanged forever…» The second prince took his pen from the paper for a moment, «Once upon a time I fell in love with a girl with whom we were not destined to be together. But as it turned out, then I made the most valuable friend of my life.

I hope the three of us can be together for the rest of our lives…»

Ever since Razor Blanche remembered his past life — he has had a renewed desire to write. But this time the author of the novel was not writing a book, but a personal diary. In it, Razor wrote down reflections and events occurring around him. Today he also found time to share his thoughts with the diary.

The wedding ceremony will take place at the palace this afternoon. The prince was already dressed in his festive white shirt and pants — and was about to leave. The guests had already begun to gather in the palace greenhouse, since Leriana wanted to hold the wedding outdoors.

Razor was sitting at his desk in his chambers, finishing his last lines. He was at peace with himself. At least until…

— What's that? — Maxie suddenly peeked over his shoulder and glanced at his notes, «I've realized that the most precious thing in my life is friendship. I hope that Leriana and I will support each other forever…»

The girl did not have time to read more as the prince reacted with lightning speed and hid the diary under the table. His face was ablaze with red.

— You…! — put out his finger,» How can you read someone else's private diary without permission!

The Marquis's daughter grinned.

— «I've learned that the most valuable thing in my life is friendship,» she repeated mockingly, «Is it because no one gives you permission?

Razor went red as a tomato.

— You…!

— Well, that's no wonder…» She shrugged her shoulders at ease. «The salesmen still think you're a teenager, and won't sell you any liquor,» she said. The girls, too, I bet. No one's ever asked where your mom is?

— Very funny! — He answered exasperatedly.

— I'm only telling the truth,» Maxie gave an offended look, «It's better than a blatant lie, isn't it?

The second prince was still displeased. He was well aware of his own shortcoming. For reasons beyond his control, the boy was physically developing slower than his peers. But you don't have to remind him of that every time!

Razor sighed angrily.

— What are you doing here? — He asked. «You're Leriane's friend. Shouldn't you be in the bride's chamber?

— «The bride's room?» — The girl snorted with obvious dissatisfaction.

The second prince was surprised. Meanwhile Maxie indignantly continued:

— Watching a pretty girl get ready for a wedding with Cassius…? What a pleasure!

Razor smiled involuntarily. Who would have thought that even on the eve of her wedding, the Marquis's daughter would still not let go of these feelings.

— You know, I think it's time for you to accept…» he said awkwardly.

— Statistically speaking, one in five marriages in Azeroth breaks up,» Maxie said nonchalantly.

All the boy had to do in response was slap his forehead. It was a trait all too typical of the Windsor family. I wondered if everyone in the family was so stubborn. That even before the wedding altar, they're hoping for something…

— All right,» Razor didn't insist, «whatever you say.

Maximiliana smugly sniggered. Meanwhile, wedding bells were already ringing through the windows. Razor realized too late that they were already running late.

— We must hurry! — We're going to miss the whole thing, aren't we?

They were making the last preparations in the bride's room. A beautiful girl with emerald hair was sitting at the dressing table. Leriane was wearing a beautiful wedding dress — decorated with gold embroidery and open shoulders. On her face was a light matte makeup.

The girl looked at herself in the reflection of the mirror and could not believe it. Who would have thought: that such a day would really come? It seemed like just yesterday Leriana Ashford was leading a carefree life at the Royal Academy. And today she's already a bride.

How quickly time flies…

— Your Highness, everything is ready,» the maid smiled, «The guests are already waiting for you.

— Good.

Leriana stood up and, accompanied by her servants and bridesmaids, headed outside. The maids behind her held up her long dress.

The weather was indeed lovely. The imperial garden was decorated with flowers and ribbons — and the girl herself was holding a wedding bouquet of wildflowers. Despite the grandeur of the event, Leriane did not want any unnecessary luxury on this day.

It was as if everyone had gathered for the main wedding of Azeroth. Among the guests were Philip and his daughter, Andrew's secretary, the servants of the estates Cassius and Ashford, the commander of the guards, and even the Marquis of Windsor and his wife.

They came to the wedding unannounced on purpose to take the daughter by surprise.

— The wretch…! Did you think you could run away from us forever?!

— Dad, stop it…!

After all, no wedding is complete without a fight. Looking at Maxie «fighting back» against her parents — Leriana laughed involuntarily. Perhaps it was hard to imagine a better wedding.

One thing, however, remained paramount. They were surrounded by guests-and on the way to the altar, the man most important to her held out his hand. Rachel appeared as if out of nowhere, which was her style.

— Are you ready? — Rachel asked hoarsely.

At first surprised, the next moment Leriana smiled. She certainly wasn't going to hesitate with her answer at this point.

— Today, tomorrow, and always.

Rachel looked at her lovingly, and couldn't seem to tear her gaze away.

— Don't you mean to tell me that I'm particularly beautiful today? — the girl suggested.

— You're always beautiful,» Rachel stubbornly objected.

Leriana laughed and took her hand. To a storm of applause they walked down the flowery road to the altar — to a new life. In which, no doubt, many more surprises awaited them. But one thing Leriane Ashford was certain of.

«A year from now, and two years from now, and many years from now… Everything will be all right.»
