She was too cheap.

“Claudia!” Rosalie exclaimed, widening her eyes in surprise. “What are you doing here?”

Claudia sneered, “Narrow is the path of enemies.”

“The person who gives gifts, is simply hoping that you will do things for them. If things are not done well, they will turn their back on you just like you.”

“Oh, by the way, Ms. Clayton, I also have the bottle of wine we just drank here in my collection,” Roger said as he opened the cabinet next to the shoe rack, revealing a whole wall of wine.

He took out a bottle of wine and stuffed it into Rosalie’s arms: “Same brand, absolutely no fake, no need for cash, I am poor, if you want wine, it’s fine, if you want money, I don’t have any!”

Rosalie held the bottle of wine and lowered her head in shame and

anger.

Unable to bear the ridicule any longer, she picked up her things and walked out, slamming the door shut with a loud “bang“.

Roger turned around and looked at Claudia, smiling lightly, “Ms. Lloyd, shall we have a good chat?”

Claudia nodded.

“Mr. Zhou, why didn’t you act as Rosalie’s defense attorney? Didn’t Edmond ask you to help Rosalie?”

Roger shook his head and said, “He didn’t ask me for help the first time he approached me, and I wouldn’t defend someone like Rosalie either. Mr. Lamont came to me to inquire about cases like Rosalie’s and how many years they usually get sentenced.”

“These materials were all given to me by him, saying that one day Rosalie would come to me and he wanted me to persuade her.
