Ch89.2 – Training
“I’ll buy groceries and cook for you.” Zhou Sheng said, “Remember to return to the dorm at 6, I won’t disturb you anymore.”
So Yu Hao had to study alone. After Zhou Sheng left, Yu Hao was finally able to concentrate and finished organising the manuscripts from yesterday, then did a set of questions. Next, he moved onto statistics, but it was so difficult it made his head spin. When it was 6 o’clock, Yu Hao decided to stop studying and packed his books to return to the dormitory. He discovered that Chen Yekai had sent him several messages.
Yu Hao was intending to pass him the data anyway. He took his USB and left. Chen Yekai was waiting downstairs for him at the library.
The autumn wind blew, and behind the library was a beautiful bamboo forest.
Chen Yekai said, “Finally free.”
“Thank you for your hard work.” Yu Hao smiled, “It’s time for you to have a good rest.”
Chen Yekai and Yu Hao walked side by side. He smiled as he said, “After finishing up with work, there will always be a slight sense of emptiness and loss. Ever since that day, I always think about when you guys will enter my dream again. How’s your part-time job going recently?”
Yu Hao talked to Chen Yekai about the interviews. Junjun will pay him through the fees for his manuscripts. Chen Yekai nodded after hearing this. The two of them slowly walked along the bamboo forest. Yu Hao sent a message to Zhou Sheng to tell him that he would return ten minutes later than planned.
This quiet road led to the teaching building behind the library. In the past year, the college had undergone many changes. Various buildings were built, and if there were no complications, the college would obtain new ratings and recruit more students before the next summer vacation as well. So after graduation, Yu Hao’s diploma would become more valuable.
“I suddenly dreamt of you on the last day of the previous month.” Chen Yekai suddenly said.
“You remember it so clearly.” Yu Hao smiled, “It was a dream from more than a month ago.”
“Un. It left a particularly deep impression.” Chen Yekai said, “Will you guys still come into my dream?”
“We won’t anymore ba.” Yu Hao remembered what Zhou Sheng said to him and answered, “We’re all living in reality. It’s not good to indulge in dreams.”
“That’s true.” Chen Yekai fell silent for a moment, then said, “We can’t always think fondly of the past; it’s better to look ahead and live a good life. That was what Ryuusei wanted to say to me in that letter too.”
Yu Hao studied Chen Yekai, then finally said, “Chen Laoshi, thank you.”
Chen Yekai looked slightly puzzled, then understood what Yu Hao had meant. He smiled, “I’m the one who should be thanking you guys.”
“Where are we going?” Yu Hao was slightly bewildered.
Yu Hao, “Another day ba? I want to treat you to a meal too.”
“Qtja jgf sbe tjqqs jybea? Jtfc Tfxjl ijeutfv.
“P’w klat Itbe Vtfcu cbk.” Te Ljb rjlv klat j rwlif.
At that moment, Yu Hao became nervous. The last thing he wanted to see was for Chen Yekai to really like him; after all, those feelings would have come from his yearning for Ryuusei. Not only was that bad for himself, but it was also harmful to Chen Yekai.
Yu Hao didn’t want to hurt others, especially someone who treated him so well, but not making things clear was also another kind of harm.
Chen Yekai was extremely surprised and with joy in his eyes, he said, “Since when? Congratulations!”
“Uh......at the end of summer vacation.” Yu Hao was a little embarrassed. At this moment, he felt that Chen Yekai really was happy for him. Zhou Sheng’s deduction was wrong.
Chen Yekai smiled, “I did feel that Zhou Sheng cared about you a lot. Congratulations, Yu Hao!”
Yu Hao was also very happy at this moment. Ever since Zhou Sheng mentioned this that day, he had been thinking about it over and over. But now that he confirmed that Zhou Sheng’s speculation was wrong, it was great.
“If you guys want to get married abroad in the future.” Chen Yekai, “I can help you get in touch with some people.”
Yu Hao hadn’t thought about it before, but now that Chen Yekai mentioned it, he immediately remembered the chapel in his dream.
Following which, someone whistled in the bamboo forest. Yu Hao and Chen Yekai turned around; Zhou Sheng had come.
“Kaikai.” Zhou Sheng held the Golden Crow Wheel in his hand, flicked it with his thumb, and the Golden Crow Wheel spun rapidly in the air. Chen Yekai raised his hand and caught it between his palms, “I’ll leave it to you.”
“Don’t need it anymore?” Chen Yekai said.
Zhou Sheng nodded and held his hand out to Yu Hao. Yu Hao was very surprised that Zhou Sheng would hand over the Golden Crow Wheel at this time, but he didn’t question it much. He walked towards Zhou Sheng, and the two of them held hands.
“I haven’t prepared any gifts for you guys.” Chen Yekai said, “Is there anything you want?”
Zhou Sheng smiled, “Nothing at all. Let’s drink together when you come back ba.”
Chen Yekai said, “That’s a promise then.” As he spoke, he turned around and left.
“Your guess was wrong.” Yu Hao said to Zhou Sheng.
Zhou Sheng said indifferently, “If I guessed wrong then so be it, is that important?”
Yu Hao sniffed, and smelled the scent of pepper and anise on Zhou Sheng’s body. “What did you cook? I’m starving to death!”
The Golden Crow Wheel was handed over just like that. Yu Hao often wondered if it would be a historic day of their lives, but that action had not yet yielded any results. From now on, he will never see the Dark Zhou Sheng who could turn into Satan in his dreams, nor his NPCs and the black dragon with covetous eyes anymore.
“You finally listened to me for once.” Yu Hao said.
Zhou Sheng said, “Fuck, don’t I always listen to you?”
Yu Hao laughed.
Zhou Sheng said, “When you said that you didn’t need a perfect me, I thought it was the second time in my life I felt that moved.”
Yu Hao asked doubtfully, “Then when was the first time?”
Zhou Sheng said, “I don’t want to recall that embarrassing moment, could you not mention it?”
So Yu Hao could only answer, “Okay then. But we’ll have to fight the rest of the monsters in reality, and not in dreams anymore. Nobody is perfect, I don’t want a perfect lover.”
There are still many people who live on arduously in this world. They knew of the many obstacles and shadows in their hearts, but found them difficult to overcome.
“I know, as long as you’re by my side,” Zhou Sheng said, “I’ll feel like there’s nothing that can beat me up.”
“I can beat you up.” Yu Hao said.
“That’s true.” On the basketball court, Zhou Sheng laughed like a ruffian as he dribbled, “But you can’t bear to. Where are you staring at? You want to eat a popsicle again?”
Zhou Sheng passed the ball to Yu Hao. Yu Hao picked up the ball and wanted to throw it at him, but Zhou Sheng was prepared to dodge. Fu Liqun then arrived.
But the black dragon, Satan......they are always there, in Zhou Sheng’s soul. When Yu Hao thought of this, he felt like a person’s inner world was practically a grand and vast universe. The partitions amongst people were like mountains, seas, and the Great Wall. Without the strength of the Golden Crow Wheel, he might have never, for all his life, have been able to truly and thoroughly understand his lover.
“Don’t look at my hand when you catch the ball, baby.” Fu Liqun dribbled while Yu Hao waited behind Zhou Sheng for Fu Liqun to pass it to him.
They agreed to participate in a three-player basketball match, so Fu Liqun gave Yu Hao specialized individual training. Yu Hao knew how to play a little, but thought he was bad at it, while Zhou Sheng acted as a training partner and helped Yu Hao train his interception and other such skills.
Fu Liqun is the captain of the basketball team. As soon as he gets on the basketball court, he instantly turns into a lofty and imposing giant. For him, basketball competitions are sacred.
“You must be all eyes and all ears.” Fu Liqun said to Yu Hao, “Pay attention to your teammates; your teammates would make some false moves sometimes......”
“Pass!” Fu Liqun said again.
Yu Hao kept practicing catching and intercepting the ball. Once Zhou Sheng and Fu Liqun became serious, Yu Hao felt like he was practically a noob who couldn’t seize the ball from them at all.
“Look up a little.” Fu Liqun could tell that Yu Hao had received a blow, so he encouraged him, “Don’t stare at the hands, analyse my feints from the corner of your eyes.”
As the captain of the basketball team, Fu Liqun led his classmates in the sports class to win several friendly competitions, so he had his own way of teaching people how to play. Once he got serious, Yu Hao felt like his male god halo was restored the moment he stepped onto the court. Not only did he teach Yu Hao, but he also taught Zhou Sheng, and he had begun working out tactics for their mutual cooperation.
It was still early before the three-man basketball match would be held at the end of the year. Fu Liqun hoped to get a good placing, and then he would be awarded a generous prize award for the college appraisal this year.
“What do you want to do after getting the prize money?” Yu Hao asked.
“Let’s all go to Australia together.” Zhou Sheng said, “Business class and a luxurious sea view room all depend on you now, Young Madam.”
Yu Hao said, “Depending on me to not hold you guys back?”
Fu Liqun laughed, “You won’t hold us back, I’m confident of that. You should have confidence in yourself too.”
Fu Liqun and Zhou Sheng’s combat abilities were too strong. Yu Hao felt like he was just here to make up the numbers. If the rules were changed to ‘two-man basketball’, then this pair would become an existence that would kill everyone in their way.
“Intercept!”
“Intercept—— take note, this isn’t a ball, but a point——”
“Catch!”
Fu Liqun finished teaching on the court and even threw all kinds of strange things to Yu Hao in the dormitory, including plastic cups, a toothbrush, Zhou Sheng’s cigarettes and lighters, and even the pillow from the opposite bunk. In the end, he even threw a plastic ball at him that came from the opposite dormitory that was used as a dog toy. Yu Hao felt like he was a dog himself, and had to always pay attention to things that were flying around everywhere, and intercept them at all times. His nerves were all keyed up.
“Catch!’
Yu Hao, “Don’t throw mooncakes! That’s food!”
