Reynolds’s feelings were complicated. He didn’t believe that Lucia was willing to marry Spencer, but he also wondered if she was so sure that they were at an impasse. “I think we should keep a low profile!”

Spencer broke Lucia’s shackles with a forceful push. He was furious. It was not the first time Lucia had rejected him by force. There was a limit to how much he can take,
