Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 218 - Thrown And Retrieved

Chapter 218 - Thrown And Retrieved

Evelyn was at a loss for words as he recollected who Klautz was. She remembered him to be the man whom she had lost against in a battle to death only for her to escape at the last moment.

Her entirety shook as she realized that something was fundamentally wrong with the situation she was in. She was on her guard.

Her first response was to access her inventory to take out her weapon. But alas, it had failed to work! After all, the inventory was a form of spatial ability in itself.

She tried teleporting away as well. But nothing worked.

"What have you done?" she asked as Klautz gave her a knowing smile.

"I can give you the key to your mouse trap. But before that tell me everything that you know about your employer."

Klautz lied. He would be sending her to river Styx after he gets what he wants from her. The moment she gets the 'key' to her trap would be the point when she would die under Klautz's sword.

Klautz himself felt no threat to the girl. But Klautz would kill her anyway for baring her fangs against his woman. Verona would have been killed by her if not for Klautz's 'intervention'.

What was the relationship between a mouse and a cage? Evelyn knew far too well even before she was trapped by Klautz. She had been caught many times and had escaped a multitude of times as well.

Being trapped was not something she fancied. But it wasn't something she feared either. There were far more scary things in the world that one can hold their fear for.

Rather it was what usually happens after being trapped was that troubled her the most. It was a source of trauma for her and it had happened to her time and time again.

That was why she would go to any lengths to escape from their clutches.

But alas, taking a glance at Klautz's eyes with those emerald pupils of hers she knew that there was nothing she could do to escape this predicament.

When she had got her ability in the tutorial, she had believed that no one would be able to trap her anymore. Which led her to drop her masks and become her true self! But alas, hell was hardly a place where one could hope to live a joyous life.

Gazing into his deep black eyes she knew that Klautz was a veteran.

And she couldn't have been more right.

Klautz was a ninja. Entrapment and torturing for the sake of collection of important intelligence were one of his fortes. Ninjas would be out of business if they lack the talent to interrogate.

Bam! She slammed her body at the viridescent field of light around but she was blocked as if by a strong wall causing her bones to rattle.

"It's futile. Give up."  Klautz claimed.

There would have been a chance if Evelyn was quick to react and get out of the circle of entrapment before it activated. But Klautz had confidence that a newbie who had no knowledge of magic and the stuff sold in hell would hardly be able to react quickly to it.

The trap itself was severely flawed. It took a long time to activate and was only used on 'unintelligent' beasts. A beast needs to be standing directly on top of it to even have any hope to be trapped. A hellsfolk would be a fool if he got trapped in it. But alas, the same wasn't true for the girl.

"You better spout everything that you know," Klautz continued. "Tell me everything. Who asked you to kill those newbies? What was your location of the meeting? What rewards did they give you? Tell me all."

Klautz asked politely. There was a need to be polite before beginning the actual 'interrogation'.

Her ears twitched. With that, she was aware of her situation and Klautz's motives.

"…"

But there was no reply from the girl. She chose to stay silent.

Klautz had promised her freedom for giving out information. But was that all? She knew it better. She had been trapped far too many times both in her former and in this life to know it all.

The moment she realizes her information she would lose all her worth. That could only lead to one thing - "Death".

After all, Klautz had promised her that he would give her the key to her 'trap'. That didn't mean that he would let her escape alive.

'The moment I tell him anything I am done.' Evelyn thought.

She could only hope to stay silent and wait for a miracle before she loses her worth. The mask that she had long tossed away on the day that she had got her new ability was picked up again by her.

Meanwhile, Klautz raised his brows.

'It is one thing for her to not reveal anything but to feign to be mute? That's rare.' Klautz thought.

Klautz had dealt with many people in the past. He had to interrogate many. The more foolish people had given out information just with a little bit of threat. But not all of them were fools.

There were times when he had plunged out the eyeballs of his targets and killed their close comrades in front of them to give them pain enough to cry without those eyeballs yet they forbade to reveal anything.

Indeed, getting out information requires one to break the will of the target.

But there was something unique about the girl in front of him. No matter how self aware one was of their situation, they would still throw a curse or two at the one that had captured them. At the very least they would squirm a little trying to break free.

But the girl in front of him stood motionless with her emerald pupils staring right into his eyes as if trying to open a book that was forever locked.
