Chapter 115: Everything is Destined
On the contrary, the fifth princess had calmed down by now. Thinking about it, her master was such a strong person. How could Xia Rulin possibly hurt her? It’s just that no one knew what kind of medicine was being sold in Xia Rulin’s gourd currently. No one could tell what her intentions were. Why did she ask her master to step aside with her in such an imposing manner?
Xia Rulin walked very quickly. Ling Chuxi followed her all the way. They walked down the walkway and into Xia Rulin’s bedroom. The moment they did so, Xia Rulin locked the door and stared straight at Ling Chuxi.
“Just who are you exactly, Miss Ling Chuxi?” asked Xia Rulin in a tone that was a little anxious and which contained some anticipation.
“Me? I just am who I am...” answered Ling Chuxi with a slight frown. She didn’t understand why Xia Rulin asked her such a question.
“My eyes are not the result of a common illness, nor is it due to a bout of poisoning. There is a hidden disease in my family clan. There is no one under the sky who is actually able to cure it. However, one person did. When my grandmother was very young, there was an expert who had given her the same diagnosis you just gave me. And that expert managed to cure my grandmother’s eyes.” Xia Rulin became more animated the more she spoke. “That expert is a benefactor of my family clan as well. Not only did she cure my grandmother, she also helped my grandmother establish the Xia clan. So, tell me, what exactly is your relation to this expert?”
Xia Rulin understood very clearly what was wrong with her eyes. It was the result of a hidden disease that only affected the women of the Xia family. When the Xia family was prominent, there wasn’t a single godly doctor under the sky who hadn’t been invited over to provide treatment. But it had all been in vain. The only time an expert capable of curing the disease had appeared was when her grandmother was very young. That expert had cured her grandmother’s eyes using an incredible method of treatment. The usage of such a medicinal pill was abnormal, and the acupuncture method used was both bold and odd. It was practically a phantom ability. Ever since then, such a shocking and peerless person with such abilities had never appeared again. The treatment method had remained a secret. Aside from her grandmother, mother and herself, no other soul knew of it. Xia Rulin hadn’t even told Xia Zhuoyi. However, now Ling Chuxi had suddenly appeared with knowledge of the same treatment method! She even knew of the same, odd pill refinement method!
Ling Chuxi was bewildered by Xia Rulin’s words. How could she possibly be related to this matter? What kind of relation could there possibly be? She had transmigrated over to this world. This was surely a mere coincidence!
“I’m sure it’s just a coincidence, Aunty Xia. There wouldn’t be any relations whatsoever between the person you speak of and myself,” said Ling Chuxi with a smile and a shake of her head.
“Never! In this world, there are no coincidences. Everything is destined!” responded Xia Rulin with even more determination.
“What do you mean?” Ling Chuxi felt even more confused. Why was Xia Rulin so sure she had something to do with that expert from all those years ago?
“These words were spoken by that expert as well. At first listen, it sounds like nonsense. But after gathering more experiences, I realized that life really was as such,” said Xia Rulin with a smile. “Even if you find it hard to believe, I still strongly feel that you somehow have ties to that expert from long ago. Since that is the case, there is something I need to give to you.”
‘There are no coincidences in this world. Everything is destined.’ Ling Chuxi frowned slightly as she contemplated these words. She had transmigrated to this world into the body of a young maiden with the same first and last name as her own. The young maiden’s appearance was even identical to hers. Could this really be a coincidence? Or was everything destined?
A crisp crackle snapped through the air, disrupting Ling Chuxi’s thoughts. She looked up and saw that Xia Rulin had taken off the pearl hairpin she was wearing and had broken it into two. Xia Rulin then carefully removed a small roll of paper that was hidden within the hairpin.
“This is for you, Miss Ling Chuxi,” said Xia Rulin as she handed the small roll of paper to Ling Chuxi.
“What is this?” asked Ling Chuxi hesitantly.
