Chapter 462: Outstanding and Extraordinary, Suave Number One Most Handsome in the World

“My lord.” A respectful voice rang out from behind.

“How are things?” Huangfu Qingjue’s cold voice rang out lowly.

“Miss Ling has already gone to Rejuvenation Valley. Those people are following her.” The voice of the person behind Huangfu Qingjue was soft and respectful. He was a little unable to comprehend the matter. Since his lord was so worried about Ling Chuxi and constantly sent for people to bring news of her whereabouts, why was he not lending a hand now when he knew that Ling Chuxi was in danger?

“Is that so...” cackled Huangfu Qingjue as he raised his head slightly to look at the vast night sky.

“My Lord...” said the voice behind him slowly with a hint of worry.

“There’s no need to be bothered. How could those little ants do anything to my little Chuxi?” said Huangfu Qingjue with a light laugh as traces of gentleness could be seen in his brows. He really anticipated from the depths of his heart the progress of his little Chuxi growing her skills step-by-step.

...

When Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen followed Jiang Wuhen along the small path into the forest, the few black figures following them from a distance like ghosts stopped by the borders of the forest.

“Elder Qiu, it looks like they are going to Rejuvenation Valley,” one of the men whispered.

“Have you checked to see who they are?” replied an old man softly with a gloomy expression.

“I have not managed to check just yet, but they should have arrived at Ling Xi City not too long ago,” replied the man.

“Could they be the reinforcements from Resurrection Hall?” pondered a person to the side.

“No matter who it is, we’ll discuss it after we kill them. This time, we need to win no matter what. There can be no room for even the slightest bit of error,” said Elder Qiu coldly.

“Yes, Elder,” replied the few people around him who quietly followed after him.

As night fell, a bonfire arose in the midst of the forest. The clear night wind blew and the roars of wild beasts would occasionally be heard across the mountains.

“Skin and clean it, then pick some firewood along the way,” instructed Ling Chuxi as she threw a few mountain chickens and wild rabbits which she had just hunted to Jiang Wuhen.

“I am just here to lead the way.” Jiang Wuhen was already beyond tired. He was lying on the ground, panting to catch his breath and did not wish to get up.

“If you want to eat meat then sort it out quickly,” snapped Ling Chuxi in annoyance.

Jiang Wuhen leapt up as if he had just eaten ten supplement pills whole as he ran towards the stream like a pillar of smoke.

He was also a foodie, but he looked like a foodie who had never enjoyed a full meal. Ling Chuxi was not too worried about him running away because with his bit of cultivation, he first of all, could not escape, secondly, even if he had managed to escape somehow, he would never be able to leave this forest and thirdly, even if he did, it could be reckoned that he would still end up in a dead end. If he met that Maiden Xiao Rou once more, he would be living wishing he were dead.

Shortly after, Jiang Wuhen returned with the skinned mountain chickens and wild rabbits. He carried firewood on his back and he was hugging a huge bundle of wild weeds, rattan and tree roots.

“I asked you to pick firewood, why are you picking all these other things for?” asked Ling Chuxi as she looked at the pile of flowery greens in his hand and noticed that they were all medicinal herbs.

“I bet you guys don’t know. This herb is called Long Green Grass, it is used specially to cure bloated stomachs and pain or discomfort in the intestines. This one is called Guo Luo Root, it is used specially to cure toxic sores, malignant diseases and poisonous insect bites,” Jiang Wuhen said proudly.

“You even know about all these things?” exclaimed Ling Chuxi, a little surprised. Everything this fella had said about the herb was right every step of the way and was not entirely useless.

“Hmph, so you underestimated me, huh?” Jiang Wuhen became even more proud and with a ‘whoosh’, he pulled out another cloth banner which he used to make a living with and tugged it open.

“Wondrous Hand, Rejuvenation, Resurrection, Number One Godly Doctor” read a row of large, crooked words on the cloth banner.

“What else do you know?” Ling Chuxi couldn’t resist asking.

Jiang Wuhen did not speak but gave a mysterious smile and then pulled down another banner reading, “The Number One Talent In This World, Best In Everything And Knowing Anything. Chess, Qin, Calligraphy, Paintings, Poems And Songs.”

“Gee, isn’t there one that says ‘Outstanding And Extraordinary, Suave Number One Most Handsome In The World?’” asked Ling Chuxi forcefully as she withheld the urge to barf.
