Chapter 609: Never to Betray You
“Are you hungry? Let’s go, then. We’ll find something to eat,” said Huangfu Qingjue as he stretched out his hand. There wasn’t the slightest bit of laughing intent on his face, only tenderness and doting.
“All right,” replied Ling Chuxi with a nod.
Also, she did not know what kind of medicinal pill Huangfu Qingjue had given to her earlier on so that she did not feel even single thread of pain although her meridians were severely injured. Grabbing Huangfu Qingjue’s hand and standing up, Ling Chuxi looked all around at their surroundings.
“Where are we?” Ling Chuxi asked in surprise.
The sky was high, the clouds were pale, and the thousand-mile blue of the sky stretched over them was like a huge gem without a trace of interruption. The green grass spread forth like it had been weaved over the earth, and the different flowers blooming amongst them were fragrant and aromatic. The surrounding mountains around them were undulating and the shadows of trees were swaying upon the ground as clear springs meandered out of the mountains and gathered into blue lakes.
Ling Chuxi found herself looking at a beautiful mountain range that resembled paradise on earth.
“This is Little Silver Ancient Mountain,” Huangfu Qingjue said.
“We are in Little Silver Ancient Mountain?” Ling Chuxi asked in surprise. She thought that Little Silver Ancient Mountain was a mountain peak where monster beasts would presumptuously wail and howl as they roamed all over. But she never thought that within this huge mountain range, there was actually a place like this that resembled an otherworldly paradise. It was really beyond her expectations.
However, just imagining the terrifying amount of monster beasts that had once caused so much trouble for all the various countries back then that numbered in too large an amount to even be contained within a large battlefield that left many dead and severely injured. Therefore, it was not possible that any ordinary mountain peak was able to contain them all. Ling Chuxi was put at ease after coming to this understanding.
“Did you think that it would be so easy to get past a barrier which was set up by the strongest cultivators from all the top sects?” asked Huangfu Qingjue with a smile. In reality, if it were not for Ling Chuxi being deeply trapped within the barrier, with Huangfu Qingjue’s abilities, getting past the barrier was not impossible although difficult.
“What about Mister Mo?” Ling Chuxi could remember that at the last moment, Mo Kongyuan had still tried to send her out of the barrier but could not do so. She herself was safe and unharmed thanks to Huangfu Qingjue’s protection, but what about Mister Mo? Thinking about the ten thousand jun huge stone that was instantly turned into dust, Ling Chuxi felt her heart shudder.
Mo Kongyuan was severely injured because he was protecting her. With his cultivation, he originally had a chance to escape alive when Chu Fengyun first started to mobilize the huge city bows.
“Don’t worry. I sent him out of the barrier safely. There shouldn’t be any problems with his condition,” Huangfu Qingjue said comfortingly.
“That’s great. Let’s go find something to eat. I am truly very hungry,” said Ling Chuxi, relaxing and subconsciously recovering her original colors of being a foodie.
“Let’s go. We can also casually go and find the core of the array. Then, when your wounds are slightly better, we can leave this place,” said Huangfu Qingjue as he walked forward.
“You were injured?” asked Ling Chuxi as she looked at Huangfu Qingjue’s back in surprise. There were wounds crisscrossed everywhere across his back, his skin and flesh were still split open as if he had been slashed by countless blades. The blood trails from his wounds were not even entirely dried up yet. The sight of it was shocking and seeing it, her heart clenched.
“It’s fine, they are all just minor injuries,” replied Huangfu Qingjue. He was previously only concerned about checking on Ling Chuxi’s injuries and feeding her medicinal pills. It was only when he heard Ling Chuxi’s words did he begin to feel a fiery piercing pain sear across his back.
“Don’t move, I’ll help apply some medicine on your wounds,” said Ling Chuxi as she took out some medicinal powder and carefully began spreading it on Huangfu Qingjue’s wounds.
Her actions were very careful. Her slender fingers trembled slightly, she was extremely fearful that the slightest bit of carelessness would result in the wounds splitting apart more.
Huangfu Qingjue could not see Ling Chuxi as she was behind him, but tears had already filled Ling Chuxi’s eyes.
‘Qingjue, thank you. I will never betray your deep affection and feelings,’ Ling Chuxi said to herself softly in her heart.
She finally knew why she could have emerged safe and unharmed from the strong, tyrannical and violent vortex. It was actually because Huangfu Qingjue had used his own body to shield her.
