Chapter 83: Serving

“Master, are you here to participate in the training? I will ask someone to transfer me to White Stone Academy at once. Oh, oh is there anything you’d like to eat, master? I will ask someone to prepare it immediately. Master, if you have any further instructions, please feel free to let me know what they are.” The fifth princess chattered on endlessly, beginning to show her servitude towards Ling Chuxi.

“First, let your attendants return to their own homes and to their own mothers,” instructed Ling Chuxi as she looked over at the lavishly dressed group of youth who were standing stupidly to the side with a frown. Ling Chuxi didn’t feel much positivity towards them. When they saw the fifth princess bullying the elegant young man earlier, there was only cruel laughter etched across their faces without a drop of pity. There were no efforts by them to even advise the fifth princess to stop her actions. And after she had beaten up the fifth princess, the words spoken by the arrogant young man who belonged to their group had made Ling Chuxi feel all the more disgusted with them.

What was that he said? “The princess will inform the emperor and he will have at least nine generations of your clan executed”? This was clearly said in a tone that showed one relying on power to bully others. Furthermore, the fifth princess’ usual bullying words and antics were certainly fanned into flame by these people instead of discouraged. With such people by the fifth princess’ side, her desire to learn to be good would remain mere talk without any value of belief.

“Didn’t you guys hear her? Go back home and look for your own mothers!” shouted the fifth princess at her posse with her hands on her waist.

The attendants looked at one another. Although they were dissatisfied, none of them dared to stand out by speaking badly of Ling Chuxi. Everyone could see that the fifth princess’ attitude towards Ling Chuxi was one that demonstrated she was trying hard to gain favor. Who would dare stand out and be unlucky? Therefore, all of the attendants supported each other by leaving. Why were they supporting each other? It was because they were just beaten up by Ling Chuxi to the point where they had been sent flying and lying on the ground. It was not a comfortable experience. It was so painful that they had yet to recover from it at this present moment.

“What now, master? What should we do now? Will you teach me how to use poison?” asked the fifth princess gleefully.

“You just bullied someone. Go and apologize to him first.” Ling Chuxi pointed at the elegant young man standing off to the side as she spoke. Suddenly, she called out to him, “Hey, what’s your name again?”

“My name is Xia Zhuoyi. Miss Ling Chuxi, I thank you for lending a hand earlier on.” The elegant young man smiled sheepishly in embarrassment as he thanked Ling Chuxi.

“Well. Sorry.” The fifth princess hadn’t had to apologize to anyone before, but now that her lord and master had instructed her to do so, it was a different matter altogether.

Xia Zhuoyi was stunned. Then, he turned around and harrumphed—pointedly ignoring the fifth princess.

The fifth princess was just about to fly into a rage, but she felt it wasn’t quite right to do so and held in her anger.

On the other hand, Xia Zhuoyi’s attitude was admired by Ling Chuxi. This young man had guts. Earlier on when he was being tortured by Thousand Grass Cream to such an extent, he was still unwilling to submit. And now that the fifth princess had issued such a perfunctory apology, he didn’t accept it. One could see that he was a man of principle.

“All right. Let’s go, then. The road ahead is long,” said Ling Chuxi.

“Thank you once again, Miss Ling Chuxi. If you don’t mind, I’ll make a move first,” said Xia Zhuoyi with a smile. It was very obvious that he did not wish to travel with the fifth princess.

Naturally, Ling Chuxi understood where he was coming from and nodded. “All right, we’ll meet at the finishing point. Good luck.”

Xia Zhuoyi nodded to bid adieu and left.

The fifth princess observed Xia Zhuoyi’s retreating figure and harrumphed indifferently. If it wasn’t for master’s instructions, she would not have apologized to this sort of person. Ling Chuxi studied the fifth princess’ expression and understood that the road to realigning this unruly princess was a very long one indeed.

Just like that, Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen brought along the fifth princess for the remainder of their journey.

However, they had not gotten far when Lan Xinyu who was trailing them, managed to catch up.
