Chapter 219 218: Landslides
"Hold up! What's going on captain?!"
"What was that sound?!"
Fatty's panicked voice reverberated inside Racing Wolf. His sweaty palms shook as he gazed at Divine, who had a grim expression.
Divine looked at Corey and spoke once again:
"Do you want us to die?"
Corey shook his head and drove as fast as he could. As he drove, he could not help but look at the mountains, which were rumbling for no apparent reason.
'Is it time for this place to get destroyed like the bridge of the Red Sea?'
Corey wondered as the image of the destruction of the bridge of the Red Sea appeared in his mind.
'But isn't it too early?'
Corey frowned, and just as he was about to delve deeper into his thoughts, Rosa's voice broke him out of his thoughts.
"Infuse your mana into the steering wheel."
Corey glanced at her before shifting his attention to the steering wheel. He remembered how the speed of Racing Wolf drastically increased after infusing her mana into the steering wheel.
He did as he was told and poured the mana from his mana core, the poison infinity crystal, into the steering wheel, and the steering wheel became darker.
A black aura that sent chills down the spine of his team members appeared around his hands and the steering wheel.
Racing Wolf's engine rumbled, and in the next instant, Racing Wolf zoomed into the distance at a ridiculous speed.
Corey was initially taken by surprise by the sudden increase of Racing Wolf, which almost rammed into a nearby mountain. Still, luckily for them, Corey was able to get himself and successfully controlled Racing Wolf, preventing it from slamming into a mountain.
"Well, this is hard."
Corey mumbled as he had to give his complete focus on controlling Racing Wolf due to its ridiculous speed.
'What beautiful mana. I've rarely seen mana of such quality and purity. His mana stat should have already reached the violet star phase for it to be this pure.'
Divine had a glint in his eyes as he gazed at the black aura around Corey's hand and the steering wheel.
'I guess the black color is because of his poison warlock class. But shouldn't it be dark green? Most poisonous aura are dark green.'
Divine thought with a frown, and then he felt a chill run down his spine a few seconds later. He looked up and saw Rosa and Fatty staring at him with daggers in their eyes.
"What?"
Divine asked confusedly, and a vein popped on Fatty's forehead.
"What the fuck do you mean by 'What'?!"
"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU TELL SMILE REAPER TO DRIVE FASTER?!"
"Oh."
A surprised expression emerged on divine's face as he looked at the steaming Fatty and dangerously looking Rosa. He coughed, then he spoke:
"A landslide is about to occur, and possibly a rain of lightning and thunder."
"A landslide?"
Expressions of confusion and bafflement appeared on the faces of Rosa, Fatty, and Corey after hearing Divine's words.
Corey looked at a mountain, and a thought appeared in his mind, causing his face to change drastically.
"Uhm Divine. Did you mean landslide or… landslides?"
The expressions of Fatty and Rosa also changed drastically as soon as the implications of Corey's question sunk into their head.
Divine chuckled, and with a lighthearted tone, he spoke:
"Isn't it obvious… Landslides."
Fatty Black Bonez slumped, and with an expression filled with despair, he mumbled:
"I'm so going to die. I'm surrounded by crazies that are out to get me."
Ignoring Fatty's incessant ramblings, Corey and Rosa cursed Divine out loud, causing Divine to chuckle.
"Why are you guys so afraid? I mean, it's just death. We can defy death together."
Rosa and Corey had strange expressions as they heard Divine, who had a light, harmless smile and a strangely disturbing glint in his eyes.
"Tch."
Corey clicked his tongue and put his entire focus on driving. His eyes carried a heavy glint that held his desire to survive the stupid death race game.
KABOOM
Corey's pupils dilated as he saw a lightning strike upon a mountain before them. He cursed as he saw countless rocks and debris fall from the mountain.
From Racing Wolf's current speed and the speed of the falling rocks and debris, Corey knew they would not be able to cross the road before the rocks blocked the road, probably preventing them from going further.
"I'll take care of most of the rocks. Keep on driving."
Rosa spoke, and Corey nodded. She opened her palm, and a red bow emerged from thin air. She grabbed the bow, and from the wound on her wrists, which had not fully closed, she controlled her blood and formed three arrows with it.
She nocked the arrow, and a few seconds later, the winds stirred as the arrow moved with blistering speed at the falling rocks.
Corey watched as the arrows approached the rocks and the instant they collided…
BOOOM!!
Corey's eyes widened slightly as he gazed at the massive explosion that destroyed 80% of the rocks.
'I don't think I'd survive that.'
Corey thought, and a few seconds later, Corey sped past the remains of the falling debris. A small smile appeared on Corey's lips as he sped past the falling debris.
Although he didn't want to admit it, driving at extreme speeds and dangerous situations like this was fun.
As he drove, a thought came into his head.
'This isn't so bad.'
"Oh. This might be bad."
"..."
Rosa, Fatty, and Corey gave Divine a death stare as they wondered why their captain was saying such ominous words.
Although it might seem like they were safe since they had not encountered any landslide yet, they were not.
Racing Wolf was just moving at a speed that was so fast that they were leaving behind mountains whose landslides had already reached the road.
So, if they continued at the same pace, they would have a higher chance of surviving and getting to the third zone.
So, the group was fearful that Divine would say such ominous words.
Divine's lips twitched, and without saying anything, he pointed at the sky, and the group looked at the sky, and their faces changed.
"Son of a bitch!"
And all cursed simultaneously.
