Volume 10, Chapter 25: Reinforcements
“Felicia, I only asked for your help in getting stronger. I didn’t say that you could help me deal with my father.”
When I found a Saint in the city and told him about Melody’s father, I was surprised not only by the Saint but also by Marlot behind me.
“I told you, destroying necromancers is our unshakable duty, knowing that we will never know peace as long as they can continue. Think about it. Your father didn’t even spare his own wife, and if we don’t stop him then his next victim may be you or another innocent in the city. Don’t you agree Lord Saint?”
“Ah......that’s right. Yes.”
The Saint heard everything.
Although I am a necromancer, I also feel like I am a gift from God.
“Well young lady, although you aren’t strong enough, you have a righteous heart similar to Lord Yerbil’s. Would you consider taking part in the Church’s qualification examination?”
“Yerbil......Yerbil is in the academy?”
“Yes? Do you know Yerbil......wait, are you one of Fir’s friends?”
“......”
I am him, are you looking for me?
Of course, I wouldn’t be so ridiculous.
“I......was one of his students. This is his sister.”
I quickly pointed at Oyado.
Oyado gave me a strange look and turned to the Saint.
“Well, you’re looking for my big brother? He disappeared a few days ago though.”
“We are aware of this. We have followed Lord Yerbil to investigate the incident. Well then, would you like to come to the young lady’s house with us? This is only if you wish to do so, after all......we are going to put an end to them.”
“Well......forget it, we have things we need to do.”
I gave Melody a wink.
“It’s true......for this, I’m still not ready to go......”
“Well then, this is our address. Come if you have a chance. Yerbil would like to have a short talk with Fir’s sister. Alright, I’ll leave now and prepare.”
The Saint bowed and hurried off.
“Let’s go Melody. We’ll head over to your house while they haven’t had a chance to arrive.”
“That......why are you......”
“Because we are fighting a necromancer, I don’t think that there is any guarantee that we can win. So if we find a Saint then we’ll have reinforcements and get two birds with one stone.”
“It’s like that......but still......”
“You would like to get revenge, right? Believe in yourself and go. If your dad knows what’s going on here then we won’t be able to wait, so we’ll have to go alone.”
I laughed, winked and tugged on Melody.
“Let’s go~”
————————————short break————————————
“Why do I get the feeling I’m starting up a side quest.”
When we arrived at Melody’s door, Aliyah suddenly spoke up.
I lightly laughed and turned to Aliyah.
“Then just think of him as a side quest. I remember that Final Fantasy had a side quest inside a house? I think that we should be playing on a beginners level After all, no one is level 50 except for you.
“Haha, that’s right.”
“But......”
I prepared the crossbow and magic guide book.
“They seem to know what we are here for, and it seems we......”
I’m not saying this casually. I can sense the presence of necromancy emanating out from behind the large door at the entrance.
Even in my present body I can sense necromancy. After all, I had used necromancy before changing bodies, and that feeling isn’t something that I can forget even if I wanted to.
Melody also took out her sword and magic guide book, however, this wasn’t something simple for her.
It wasn’t some simple necromancer she was facing, but her own father.
“Go on.”
“Un.”
But I have to say, the most proficient among us were Oyado and Aliyah. While I can use a lot of practical magic, our opponent is a necromancer, and I don’t know much about necromancy, making it more difficult.
Now I’m thinking of Falan, who was the most familiar with necromancy, and was my teacher for it.
It’s a pity...... I don’t know where she is right now.
But......
Just when I was about to touch the doorknob, the space around us suddenly and violently twisted.
I quickly let go, but it was too late. The space around us had changed to look as if we were surrounded by dark glass on all sides.
Reaching out and touching it, it seemed like glass. But there wasn’t any sound when I knocked on it.
“It looks like......he really wants us to go in and fight him.”
I could see on the side that Aliyah slashed down on the glass a few times, but there was no reaction. I then said to everyone.
“It seems that this thing seems to be hiding us out of sight. Everyone ready?”
“This is......Can I ask you something?”
Melody finally said.
“Why aren’t you afraid?”
“Well~”
I smiled and patted her on the shoulder.
“Because I’m worried about wrinkles, I take it easy~”
“Eh?”
As Melody looked on in confusion I pushed open the door and entered into the darkness
“Let’s start!”
