Volume 10, Chapter 51: Stolen!
In the beginning we speculated that the appetites of the people in the Abyss were too large was why the shop appeared so empty.
But we were all naive, that simple reason, bursting with sweet thoughts wasn’t able to hold up.
But the moment we entered we realized that the real reason was because it was creepy.
“Hello~ Welcome.”
As soon as we entered I saw a man with a pig’s head.
That’s right. Not someone wearing the a pig mask, but an actual pigman.
Well, I don’t discriminate against different races. Even if the person is a pig, as long as they work diligently I have no complaints.
But......
The sign outside the building said that this place sold pulled pork noodles......
I think I’m scared......
I looked him up and down to see if he used the meat for the noodles from his own flesh.
During all of this we kept silent. If you have nothing good to say then it’s best to say nothing after all.
But it would be impolite for us to leave. They greeted us with a smile, and we would be too embarrassed to leave even if we were savage warriors.
So we silently sat down and picked up the menu.
But by sheer coincidence, every single one of us ordered something else.
Vegetables and noodles, egg and noodles, dragon meat and noodles and so on.
I really don’t want to eat pork noodles in a pig’s noodle shop. It feels like a hen is laying eggs and selling them on the side.
I’ll admit that the example I used sounds strange but that’s how it is.
Like that, we ate our noodles in that awkward atmosphere and left with them warmly saying ‘Come again’ to our backs.
......
Once we were back on the street we sighed and looked at each other.
“Should we......buy some snacks and head back?”
“You’re saying that too......”
Sure enough, different cultures won’t have the practice, hehehe......
We are just going to go by snacks though. We won’t stop by any of the shops.
First of all, the size of the weapons aren’t suitable for humans, and the equipment......
Un. I can only say that there are great differences in cultures. While defense is important, you can’t just strap together several plates together and call it armor. It’s basically terrible.
A slightly larger person might wear it like a demonic beastman, but this simple style of design just isn’t something that you could just arbitrarily wear.
So we were ready to leave after buying some snacks.
......
But things didn’t go as smoothly as we had imagined. As soon as we exited the gate, we saw that our land dragons had disappeared.
“Um......”
I looked around at everyone.
“Do you think that our land dragons have run away or were they stolen?”
“Isn’t the latter is more likely?”
Aliyah said with a laugh.
“Didn’t you notice that nobody else was tying up their land dragons at the gate?”
Indeed. While the gate had a sign asking people to secure their mounts there, no one else had done so.
In the distance someone had tied their mounts to a tree, and had a guard watching it from the side.
“It does seem that way. Well, it wasn’t ours to begin with.”
I said with a shrug.
“The problem is.”
Bai Yueguang pointed down the path we had come from.
“Although it’s a half hour away when we rode, it would take much longer to walk back. The land dragons are pretty fast after all.”
“That’s what you say, but we aren’t slow walkers.”
“......”
Bai Yueguang gave me a scornful look and quietly asked.
“......Don’t tell me you don’t want to get a look at the face of the guy who stole our stuff?”
“Hey. If you want to fight then just say so, there’s no need to go in circles. We’re all reasonable people.”
I turned to Oyado.
“Oyado, have you found out what sort of people stole our land dragons?
“Un......”
Oyado squatted down and looked.
“It seems that there were 5 people. There are unusually large footprints so I’m not certain they’re from human.”
“If they aren’t human......”
I mumbled, then I looked at the guard.
“I think the guard should know something. If they didn’t......then why are they stationed there?”
I saw that a nightmare was on guard duty there.
Noticing our gaze they quietly looked away.
Ah, a guilty conscious.
“Bai Yueguang, I’ll leave the glorious task to you.”
I said, patting him on the shoulder.
“What? Me? I’m not good at interrogation.”
“I told you to ask questions, not interrogate them. As for why......”
I looked at him with a grin.
“Right now you are the only person here that’s a male.”
“Fuck!”
