Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 137

Chapter 137: Duplicates

They arrived at a clearing after a few minutes of walking, in the middle of the clearing was a giant stone building.

The building looked like a block of rock if not for a giant door and window all over its surface then they would mistaken it for a rock.

"Is this the trial building? It looked like a cave man's house," Harry commented.

"Well, this trial ground might exist even before humans were born so there is a possibility that this trial building is actually designed to imitate cave man's house," Tyx shrugs.

Both groups stopped a distance away from the trail building, the harpies were waiting for their group to send one person in to try the trial first.

"I see, that's why they let us go first," Sol suddenly realized the harpies intention of letting them have the first try.

"They just want us to try and fail so they can learn from our failure, these birds are very tricky," he mused.

"Who is going first?" Sol asked his group but no one answered.

They turned to Tyx as she was the only one who knew what to expect, "Is there any clue on how to find the real thing? I don't believe this trial is to test luck, trial is called trial for a reason after all," Sol asked her.

"Well there is one way the city lord left in the note but it's not possible to be used," she said with a disappointed look.

"What is that? Maybe it's not as impossible as you think, just let us know," Harry insisted to know.

"There is no way, it said that only a Minor demigod could find the real thing so I don't think it's gonna help," She said.

"I will go first then," Jennie volunteered to go.

"Sure you can try first," they agreed with her.

Sol actually did have some hypothesis on how to find the real thing but he would need to see for himself what appeared in the trial.

Jennie walked toward the trial building while the others waited on the outside, they would only be spectating from the outside.

Once Jennie walked inside, an altar raised from the floor in front of her, there was an instruction in ancient language on it.

To her surprise, she could actually understand the instruction without knowing the language, this was the power of the trial ground.

The instruction told her to conjure anything and put it on the altar, she thought it would duplicate the thing she conjured on it so she tried to conjure something complicated and hard to duplicate.josei

She conjured a statue of herself in seconds, it looked life-like, there was so much detail that others could hardly replicate it with ease.

Once the statue touched the altar, it melted without Jennie's consent, she tried to make it stable but she could not control it any longer.

"It got consumed, it not only melted but also got absorbed by the altar." everyone who was spectating outside realized.

Once the statue got melted and absorbed completely, dozens of items started to appear inside the building.

It was a small hand fan made of bamboo, from a dozen suddenly more appeared into a hundred, then two hundred, then five hundred, then a thousand.

With a thousand hand fans laying around the building, Jennie would need to guess which hand fan was the real deal.

Jennie had kept track of the first twelve hand fans that appear in the arena, "this twelve come first, logically the real thing should be among them," she thought.

If her theory was correct then rather than guessing from a thousand items, she would only need to guess among twelve items, it would be easier that way.

"hmm... let me find some clue among these twelve," she mumbled as she walked near each of them.

To her surprise, each of them was different from each other, rather than duplicate it could be said that there are a thousand items there.

All of it was hand fan but the image and craftsmanship were different, she picked up two of them and compared them to each other.

Other than their design being the same, the other aspect was very different, "if it's like this then everything is real," she complained.

"Ugh... I will just choose the one with the best craftsmanship, the other might be considered a replica," she picked up the best among the twelve hand fans.

Once she chose the real deal, she went to the altar and put it on top of it, it melted once again and every other hand fans melted too.

"Did she succeed?" everyone wondered as something significant seems to be happening.

But to their disappointment, nothing actually happened after everything melted, she was left there in an empty hall with nothing, obviously, she failed the trial.

She comes out of the room dejectedly while one of the birdmen comes into the building to try their luck.

"I thought you got it," Harry commented.

"Yeah, me too," she replied.

"Any clue you can give us? Did you notice anything?" Tom asked her.

"From what I saw, the real deal might be among the first twelve that appeared in the building, there must be some reason that they appear in waves like that," she told him.

They just about to continue their discussion when the harpy started its trial, it made a simple ball with its conjuring ability.

Once the ball got absorbed, two other balls appeared in the room, then it turned into ten, a hundred, two hundred, five hundred, and a thousand.

"There are only two that appear in the first wave!" they got alarmed.

If their theory was correct then the chance of the birdman to guess correctly was fifty-fifty, which was so high that they got nervous.

"It seems a simple conjured item made the number of possibilities decrease, why didn't we think about this," they lamented.

The harpy hesitated between the two before it decided to use one that had a darker color.

Waiting for it to put the ball on the altar was torture, in their eyes, it moved like it was under a slow-motion effect even though it just walks normally.

When the ball touches the altar, it melts and each ball in the building also melts to nothing.

To its disappointment, nothing happened just like Jennie's case, "did it fail? It was so unlucky," Harry commented.

The other sigh in relief as they still have a chance to try.

"Let me go, if it's a fifty-fifty chance then I believe I can get the reward," Tom said with a raised hand.

Tyx frowned but she ended up agreeing to let him try, "Fine, you go and try," she said.

He ran into the building in excitement once the harpy left, without even waiting or observing, he conjured a marble made of metal and put it on the altar.

It melted in a blink of an eye, soon items started to appear in the arena, rather than marbles or any small item, five statues made of metal raised from the ground.

"It increased!" Tom exclaimed, their earlier theory was moot, none of them was correct.

Tom ignored the thousand statues and went toward the five, he checked for any clue but he could not find anything.

"What the hell, I thought I got this," he lamented as he chose a random statue among the first five.

The result was as expected, he failed to get the reward, Tom got back dejected from his failure.

They did not talk much when he came back, they only silently waited as another harpy was trying his luck in the trial.

It conjured another ball and put it on the altar, to their surprise, just like before, the first wave was two balls.

"Fuck, they are too lucky, are we gonna lose this chance!" Harry cursed while everyone else was seriously watching the birdman.

On the other hand, Sol was not worried, he had made his own theory and it seems that he was correct.

Only a minor demigod could find the real thing so he needed to think like one, with that clue he was sure that the wave of the item appearing was just a random variance.

In the end, the harpy failed as well, which made everyone else shocked as it was quite unlikely for them to be that unlucky in fifty-fifty chance.

Just before anyone could talk, Sol walked forward, "I will go next, I think I can find the real deal," He said.

Of course Txy was not happy with him, she never liked him, "are you sure? If you fail and the harpy got another turn they likely will get the real deal," she tried to demoralize him.

"That's the more reason I will be going next, I'm sure that I can get it," he said optimistically.

Once he arrived on the altar, Sol did not conjure his sun ice ability but instead, he conjured something else.
