Chapter 142: Group Fight

Once the knife ate the golden apple, the light on the altar dimmed and the barrier that was holding people from getting the golden apple was no more.

"Get that puppet, it could be just a deception, we can just destroy its body and take the apple from its remains!" one of the people said.

Sensing the hostility from people around it, the knife jumped back and raised its arm in defense.

To Sol's surprise, the knife communicated with him through his mind, "Sol!!! Help me! They are scary," its voice was clear and intelligent.

"What the fuck? How did it suddenly become so smart?" he wondered, it did not take him long to guess that the apple of knowledge has granted the newborn spirit wisdom.

Before he could get hold of himself, the knife suddenly raised both arms and conjured two invisible short knives, only Sol could see them as the knife was made of the knife aura.

Sol was shocked for two reasons, the first was it could actually use one of his abilities, after something it was quite possible as knife aura ability was connected to the armament.

The second was because it actually used the aura as solid material instead of aura, Sol had guessed that he would need to be able to do exactly that to advance the ability into Minor Demigod level, for it to actually be able to do that was a big Shock.

"If it can teach me how to do that then the advancement of knife aura is not that far," he thought.

Projectiles flew toward the knife but it would use the invisible knife to cut them to pieces in a blink of an eye as its speed was comparable to Sol in his limit-break mode.

In people's eyes, it just moves very fast and destroys anything that comes too close to it, they could not see how it did that as they could not see the knife aura.

Others tried to conjure cages to trap the girl-like knife spirit but it would move out of the way just before they could trap it.

Others tried to be quick with it but it would just cut the hastily made cage with its knife, a knife purely made of knife aura was incomparably sharp.

Some demigods even foolishly tried to engage it in melee distance, they conjured swords and shields to fight with it but the knife would just move back to after giving them some nasty cuts on their body.

To his surprise it was fleeing toward him, the knife might be quite powerful but it could not fight dozens of demigods just by itself.

"Sol!!! Hewp me!!!" It tried to ask for help but it seemed that it was not accustomed to talking.

"Fuck! Why are you bringing them over here?" he protested as he joined her in a run.

Sol found out that his teammates were also running away, they were even faster than himself.

"Hey, why are you guys running? Help me fight these people," they asked them to stop.

"Why would we fight them? There is no need to fight so many people! We already get what we wanted so it's better that we just run from them!" Harry replied.

"That's right, we did not even get anything from the trial, why should we help you with the trouble your reward brings?" Jennie agreed.

Looking back, it seems that they would not outrun the pursuer any time soon, the only way to get rid of them is to fight them.

"How about I promise you that I will share the next trial's reward? You guys can have the reward even though I was the one who got it!" He gave them some consent in exchange for help.

"Deal!!!" the four of them agreed at the same time.

Tyx and Harry turned back and sent an electrocharged tsunami at the pursuing people, it stopped just enough for Sol and the other to attack.

Tom conjured a giant iron prison, trapping everyone who was going after them while Jennie directly jumped into the prison to engage the pursuer in melee.

She had a dozen wind blade circling around her body, it would cut anyone that gets too close, while the wind also enhanced her movement speed to some extent

"Follow me, don't get too far from me," he told the knife as he jumped into the iron prison as well to engage his enemy in melee combat.

Sol wanted to use the chance to increase his proficiency with sun ice ability this time, the ability was the nearest to minor demigod level but is somehow become the furthest from advancing now that he could already advance the healing dome and he could depend on his knife for knife aura.

He conjured ice fog around him while he went into melee, the fog was different than his limit-break ice fog, he wanted to freeze people fighting him by sapping their body heat directly through the fog.

He restrained himself from conjuring any other thing with his other ability, he only used the healing dome to make himself invincible from being hurt so he could experiment as he pleased.

On the other hand, the knife somehow learned by watching Jennie, it conjured a dozen knives that were flying around it as it engaged its opponent.

Conjuring the knife seems to slow it down quite a bit as the aura it keeps on its body lessens but overall it becomes deadlier with the knives protecting her like a satellite.

Sol, Jennie, and the knife were engaging more than two dozen demigods in melee while the other was supporting them from far away.

Tom was tasked with protecting them, he would conjure shields to block any dangerous attack while also harassing the enemy.

Harry was attacking anyone who was too busy attacking and forget about his presence, he would make sure each hit at least injured its target.josei

Tyx was finishing off anyone that already got weakened, it could be said she was kill-stealing from the other.

Sol and his friend did not have time to bother with her antics, they were trying to stop the demigods from attacking them.

There were five people among them that appear to be human from the mortal realm just like them, they tried not to kill them but Txy did not seem to have sympathy, she would finish any of them who was weakened.

"Hey dot kill them, they are supposed to be our ally," Tom told her.

"They are not your ally, don't you see that they are trying to rob us? I bet they won't be troubled about killing any of you," She said.

The fight did not last more than ten minutes before the demigods retreated, they did not want to chew more than they could bite.

Out of twenty-five people, four were killed by Txy in the confrontation, she was quite cruel as she had no mercy to those who were trying to retreat.

Sol did not succeed in getting a deeper understanding of the sun ice ability, he was not able to freeze any demigod into an ice statue.

"I guess doing trials is the best way to advance, trying to gain insight by myself would take too long," he thought.

Overall, their teamwork was amazing, even though their enemy was not exceptional, they were able to beat a group four times their number, it was quite an achievement.

"Sol, give me food!" the knife suddenly came to him and pulled his hand toward its mouth.

It bit his fingers and started to suck on it like a baby, it startled him, he pulled his hand hastily.

"What do you want? Why are you sucking my finger?" he asked but the knife pulled his hand again.

After a few exchanges he finally understood that it needed to recharge some knife aura after fighting so it asked him for it, for the knife, his knife aura was like food and drink.

"It turns out Sol likes this kind of play, tsk tsk tsk, he even made his puppet du such a thing," Harry said to the other.

"Sttt... Don't be like that, everyone has their own hobby, just let him do as he please, there is no harm in it anyway." Jennie scolded him.

"Fuck! I can hear you you know? This is not what you think it is, this thing is alive and I'm just feeding it!" he tried to explain.

The other looked at him in disbelief as the knife's current action was not releasing backing his claim.

It was holding his hand right in front of its face while licking his hand with its little tongue, it would also suck on his finger from time to time.

They could not see the knife aura which made it quite hard for Sol to prove, "It's ok Sol, we won't judge you, you can do whatever you want since it's your puppet" Jennie told him.

"Fuck!!! This is not what you are thinking!!!" he cursed while he wanted to cry deep down.
