Chapter 189 Kyoryu’s Return

Chapter 189 Kyoryu’s Return

The same day Kamiya died, Kakashi and Eya raced back to the Vr-cade, They got the Vr-cade under their control without a fight.

He laid Eya on the bed and went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. He came back with her meal and hot coca. She was sitting on the bed, but she seemed happy, her face was lifted unlike before.

Kakashi placed the plate in front of her. He got a full-face view and found her smiling. She has gone mad, he thought, why is she smiling?

? "Eya-nee…"

She turned to Kakashi, her eyes wide, and her smile wide. Then she giggled. Kakashi took a step away from her, she was acting creepy.

"A-are you okay?"

"O-okay?" she muttered, "oh, this is the best feeling! I feel relieved, I feel… safe!"

'Safe? Relieved? That boy is half-dead, the Kamiya boy is dead, and you feel safe?' Kakashi kept quiet, he listened instead.

"Kamiya's body… is safe!" she shouted.

Kakashi widened his eyes, then dropped them, and sighed. He placed the glass on the table and grabbed her by her shoulders. "It is alright, Eya-nee, just sleep."

Eya's smile faded. "W-What? Wait, Kakashi—" He pushed her on the bed and sat by her side.

"I know it can be hard, you were the same when Father died. If we had not found Kyoryu-san that time… forget it. Just get some rest, you will get better."

"N-no, oi, do you think I am grieving?"

"I know you are. And it is alright."

She laughed. "NO, I am serious, Kamiya's body is alright! He is safe!"

"That is good, at least they will have his body for the funeral. We are invited," he added.

"I do not think they will have his body for the funeral… I mean—"

"Just what happened, Eya-nee? What happened to their bodies?" Kakashi turned to look into her eyes. "Did a monster really take their bodies?"

She smiled back at him. "Do you remember the comet that fell today, the one you said fell behind Hitori-san's house?"

Kakashi frowned. He still nodded and decided to hang with her.

"It was not a comet!"

He got up. "That is it, go back to sleep, I will keep your food warm—"

"Kyoryu-san…" she said. Kakashi lifted the plate halfway and stopped. He hesitantly looked at Eya.

"Not funny." He shook his head.

She protested. "Kyoryu-san is back in one piece. When I was about to pick up Kamiya's body, he appeared. He took the body with him."

Then she tapped her ring, and an image of Kuzu's body appeared in the air. Kakashi stepped back.

"I will transfer it to another item and send it to Onogi." She jumped out of the bed and looked at Kakashi. "Now you sit, and eat your meal."

She pushed Kakashi onto the bed, he sat on the corner, then she lifted the plate and pushed it against his stomach.

The snow had left the grounds, only dirt and water remained on the side. Hitori walked the stone pavement and found the Vr-cade waiting for him at the end of the rod.

It was covered with stone formation over its top and behind it. Hitori wondered what was on the other side.

He opened the door. He saw no one, not even the fairy. "Hello, are you closed?" he asked.

He stepped inside. The lights were turned off, he could not hear anyone in the Vr-cade, it was obvious the Vr-cade was closed.

He turned to leave when he heard footsteps. He paused in the doorway and focused on the footsteps.

Hitori raised his eyes and swung his hand for his wand by the side. The footsteps were getting closer to him, they were coming in his direction.

The footsteps came closer, Hitori glared at his side, and he found a silhouette in the dark. Hitori grabbed the end of his wand.

The person slowed. Hitori gulped and stared. He felt cold sweat on his palm as he tightened the grip over his wand.

A wand appeared from the dark followed by a tiny woman. Hitori drew his wand and pointed at the person, too. Their eyes met. Eya relaxed her face muscles, and Hitori did the same.

"What system do you have?"

"Huh?" Hitori lowered his wand. "Cultivation system?"

She sighed and lowered her wand. "I thought you were an imposter. Times are scary since we let Tengoku escape." Then she looked behind Hitori. "You can come out, Kakashi," she said.

Hitori turned around and found Kakashi leaping out of the dark. Hitori raised his wand at him. "What did you win in the leap year competition?"

Eya frowned, she took a step forward. "Hitori-san…"

Hitori turned around and swung his wand at Eya, nothing came out. "Who gave you that ring and why?"

He heard a sigh behind him, He turned to Kakashi who was climbing down the counter. "If you ask that, anyone would figure Eya-nee got something Kakashi won in the leap year competition," he said.

Kakashi rubbed his head. He casually walked past Hitori even when he was wielding a wand. The wand did not seem to matter anymore.

Kakashi continued, "On a closer look, anyone would notice the only ornament Eya-nee is wearing. They would figure out your stupid question even if it was Tengoku or Onogi– they both are smart, for your information."

Hitori was left speechless. Kakashi walked past Eya and called her to work. There was still work to be done. The bullet holes to be packed, the damaged console stations to be changed, and the bullets to be cleaned.

"Till when are you going to point your wand?"

Hitori, embarrassed, lowered his wand and looked to the side.

"I want a console…"

"Just sit on one, Hitori-san, we are busy right now. We will open after the year-end feast– perhaps after Kamiya's funeral, I do not know."

Eya walked inside. They were clearing the last alleys. Hitori shrugged and found himself his console in the fourth alley.

He dropped his card in the slot and waited. He thought about starting words for texting her. He was angry at her, he wanted her to die, he wanted to kill her… if she had not done what she did, he would have been alive.
