Chapter 205 The Escape
Chapter 205 The Escape
Hitori felt satisfied with he landed the final punch. He did not hold back at all, he gave the best he could with an injured fist, broken jaw, and a throbbing head. He thought he gave his best.
After what Father said and had done in the past, Hitori knew this man deserves no mercy. The fire punch calmed Hitori's anger, but it left him with a view of reality.
He staggered away from the body. "Have I killed him?" He looked at Kakashi who was staring at him from the porch. "Teleport," he said, "leave before anyone comes!" he shouted.
Hitori got to his feet. He grabbed the gun from the stairs, then grabbed the metal box on his way. He stepped on the petrified body as he stretched his hand for Kakashi to grab.
Eya had a worried expression on her face. Her mouth was slightly open and her eyebrows were lowered. She saw Kakashi was still shocked, so she gave him an electric shock.
"Wake up! We have to teleport!" she said.
Kakashi glanced around. He looked up from Father's body and found Hitori's hand stretched out at him.
"Y-yes." He lifted his hand. But before Kakashi could grab his hand, Hitori pulled his hand.
He looked across the hallway on the left and found something glowing on the floor. It was silver in color and was lying lifelessly on the floor.
"What are you—?" Before Eya could finish, she heard Senso on her wand.
She frowned at her wand, then realized someone was trying to contact her. "Yes, I copy!" she said.
To which Senso replied, "Why the heck are you not out yet?"
"We are on our way. Hitori-san crossed the limit, but we are fine."
"Just teleport as soon as possible!" She heard Atama on the wand.
Kakashi said to Hitori, "What are you doing? Grab my hand!"
Hitori climbed the stairs and walked past Kakashi. "You two," he said, "leave. I will take the front door to teleport."
Atama told to Eya, "You need to leave together. The house is enchanted, but if you use mass teleportation, you will teleport easily."
Kakashi was not hearing. He was looking at Hitori as he bent near the store room. "As you wish," Kakashi muttered.
"You need to hurry," Atama said. "The guards have gathered and they might reach the first floor anytime."
She looked at Kakashi. "Guards have arrived. If they see us— where is Hitori-san?" She looked past Kakashi.
"He knows what he is doing…" Kakashi whispered. Then they both disappeared.
Hitori picked a key from the floor and inspected it. "You are coming with me…" He kept the key inside the pocket.
Hitori heard the gate open. He glanced behind, Kakashi had left. He went walked near the window at the end of the hallway and took a look outside.
Around ten men with wands in their hands were charging inside the house. One stayed at the entrance, two went to the backside, and seven crossed the front yard.
Hitori turned again, he walked away from the window. He saw Father's body and the bodies of three guild members. He stopped near the staircase.
"Got no other choice. You got to do it." He tilted his neck and cracked the bones. He pushed a foot back and bent in the running stance. With the box under his armpit, wand in the side, gun in the back, and the key in the pocket, Hitori raced towards the window.
While Hitori was preparing for his escape, the guards split in the funeral hall. Four went spread on the ground floor and searched every room as the remaining three guards took the stairs.
"Come in. We have a dead body here. Do you copy?" He was wearing armor, gloves to protect his hands, a hood over his head, and a mask on his mouth. He lowered his wand as he climbed the first stair.
"Copy. Leave the body and advance."
So he did, followed by two of his men. When he reached the first landing, he saw blood, a punctured floor, and ice blocks in the wall.
"We have a crime scene. Someone was burtally—" His voice caught in his throat when he found Father's leg hanging down the stair. "We have got another body," he said.
"Dead or alive?" a man standing near the gate said.
The guard went took another step forward. He saw Father's burnt face. It was as if his head was smashed with a hundred-pound hammer.
"Brutal. A gruesome death—" He saw a silhouette run past the staircase. He raised his head. "We got someone," he said and directed his men to follow. "Hey!" he shouted.
Then he heard a glass crack. He raced through the stairs and pointed his wand at the end of the corridor.
"Bind!" he cast. But to his surprise, no one greeted him. He lowered his wand and found the window. A few pieces of glass were in between the two rooms and two sharp sides of glasses were all that remained of the main glass.
"We have lost the target—"
"I have it on me," he said. "It is a man. I have got it."
The person saw Hitori in the air. Box fulled in front of his face, a piece or two of glass in his forearm, and his legs pulled to his chest.
The man took out his wand and aimed at Hitori when suddenly, he disappeared. His eyes widened. "Fuck, he teleported!" he shouted.
"Teleported?" the man inside asked.
"Sir!" his man said, "He is alive! This guy is alive."
He turned and saw his man squatted by the brutally beaten body. He nodded. "Lift the enchantment and send Hila-Kun to the first floor."
"His heartbeat is fading," his man copied, "he might die anytime."
"Cast a healing spell," he said. He aimed his wand at Father and chanted, "Kami no Megumi."
And his men joined him. That was enough to keep Father alive, but nothing to aid Father's condition.
Later Hila arrived and healed Father till the help arrived and teleported him to the hospital.
Hitori got away that day, Father was the only one who could recognize him, but due to what Hitori did to him, he could not speak. He was in a coma, that was the biggest thing that happened that day.
Hitori put his friend/partner's father in a coma at his funeral. That was also the first time Hitori had put someone in a coma.
The guards called the Ministers from almost every department. The culprit was unknown, but the victim was known. He had many enemies, as told by his mates, but this one was a teenager.
They investigated Kamiya's room and found some disturbing content. This Kamiya had every intention of killing two people, two scientists, that is. They wondered how, at such an early age, he decided to kill someone.
