Chapter 56 The Red Goblin King.
Chapter 56 The Red Goblin King.
Hitori's eye twitched, he stood at the door's entrance with a big fat red goblin in front of him, who slept like a, well, like a freaking goblin.
[you have entered the third floor]
[entered the first room]
Before Hitori attacked him, he took a good look at the disgusting creature. It hurt his eyes but you do not get to see a red goblin KING every day.
Its belly, well it was more like a truck's tire, it had swollen holes on its face, dark spots, an ugly face. Its yellowish-green hair came down till its shoulders.
And on top, it wore a dark red color crown that covered the top of its head. Around its thick fat neck, it wore a golden chain, muscular hands and it had golden rings on every finger.
Hitori lifted his wand, "Icicle spear."
He swung his wand down and three spears of ice erupted from Hitori's wand.
As the goblin king was asleep, Hitori had no problem with piercing its fat belly.
The king struggled when the spears went through its stomach, it opened its green eyes and let a hideous scream.
Hitori covered his head with his arms as he started to run towards a corner of the wooden room, "I should have aimed for the head," Hitori grunted.
The goblin king was awake, and it was furious due to Hitori's action.
Hitori took a glance at its health bar, it had just touched the yellow mark. It still had almost half of its health remaining.
The goblin pushed itself off the wooden floor, it grabbed the corners of the walls and stood straight on its feet.
Hitori ran across the room.
[Goblin King is awake! Defeat the Goblin King]
A quest flashed through Hitori's eyes, "I really should have gone for the head." Hitori regretted his aim. How annoying when you miss your target just by a few inches.
The goblin roared loudly, then it raised its weapon which was a chained flail.
Hitori stopped when he realized he was cornered by the goblin.
"Ice shield," he raises his hand above his head and a thick shield of ice forms on his forearm.
The goblin raised its flail to its side, then with all of its strength, it smashed the flail on Hitori's ice shield.
"Shit," Hitori grunted. The flail's bob made contact with Hitori's shield, his shield was not able to rival its power even for a minute.
The goblin king's flail's metallic bob crushed Hitori's shield. Then the bob's spikes injured Hitori's forearm and the impact threw him against a wall.
Hitori's back smashed against the wooden wall, with a cracking sound, a crack was created in the wall due to the impact.
Hitori quickly raised himself off the ground. He found that his health has gone down to half, but he had no time to drink a potion.
"Ghghagahgahagha!!!" The king let out a shrill scream.
"Shi-" Hitori brought his hands to cover his ears tightly.
The goblin king threw its arms open, dropped its head back, and started to scream loudly. The goblin king's flail landed hard on the wooden floor that formed a crack in it.
Slowly, the king slowed down his scream and eventually stopped screaming.
Hitori stared at the king, the king stared back at Hitori with its green eyes. No one made a move, they did not move.
'I got to take it.' Hitori took a step forward, he grabs his katana's handle near his waist, 'I do not know what it did but it seems something bad, I better finish this–' Hitori's thoughts were interrupted by a noise… a familiar noise.
He turned his head towards the door of the third floor, it was wide open, and… it had started to shake. Hitori adjusted his ears and eyes, he recognized the noise immediately.
Hitori then heard the staircase creak, the staircase that led to the third floor creaked loudly, and the creaking did not stop.
Again, again. As if someone was continuously climbing up the chair.
Sweat would have formed on Hitori's head if this was not a game. Hitori quickly drew his katana forward. He looked at the king who was standing steady.
"Gahahaha, Gahahaha, Gahahaha." the hideous noise of disgusting laughs continued through the staircase, it had got closer than before.
Hitori was confused about where to look and what to do first. Because from the door, an army of more than thirty goblins approached the third floor's room.
'Did the… king…' Yes.
Yes, the king had conjured its dead followers who were now its undead followers.
The first goblin made it through the door followed by tens of more goblins. All of the goblins Hitori had killed on the second floor had made their way to the third floor.
All of them, undead. Some were half-burned, some had hails stuck in their brains, some in their chest, nose, mouth. Most of them were half-burned, and a few drenched in water.
"Kherek-nor!" the king raised its flail, the bob hung down from the flail, "Kherek-nor!" it shouted again.
The army of forty undead goblins charged at Hitori without hesitation, without a worry about losing their lives.
Hitori clicked his tongue, 'never faced such a goblin brawl.'
Hitori had played over a hundred games for over nine years but he had never faced such an army of goblins.
But Hitori ignored the goblins and leaped forward at the king.
The king had covered itself with its troops. Hitori had a lot of trouble reaching the king.
Hitori raised his katana, slashed through a goblin, then another, then another.
Hitori kicked a goblin.
Used ice to freeze one.
Used an icicle spear to penetrate another.
But the goblins did not move from the king, the king seemed to get lost in the crowd of goblins.
Hitori pulled his fire katana and burned a few of the goblins.
"Tch." Hitori undrew his katana and pulled his gun from the corner of his right waist.
The goblins that surrounded him had started to overwhelm him finally. But to lose was not an option.
The king had faded away, only its crown was visible that too was about to hide under the army of goblins.
Hitori, once again, ignored the goblins around him and aimed at the king's crown. He pulled the trigger without any wait.
The bullet hit the crown and took the crown down along with it. The king stopped moving when it saw its crown falling behind it.
"Uhggah." The king glanced behind then looked up at Hitori who had shot its crown.
"I… should have gone for the head," Hitori repeated the same words again.
He tugged his gun back into a belt by his waist which held the gun perfectly. He took a step back, kicked a few goblins on the way. "Ghagahgahga!!!" the king roared at the top of its lungs.
It rose up from the crowd, swung its thick arm, and swept a few goblins on the way.
Then it raised its flail and smashed the heads of a few goblins out of the way. That caused chaos between the goblins, they pushed each other to get out of their king's way.
But the king was faster and impatient as it had entered the rage mode.
It raised its leg to kick a few goblins in front of it, then it stomped on them while making its way to Hitori.
Hitori paused where he stood, he took a quick look around him. The goblins that covered him had started to walk back, they were scared of their king even when they were nothing more than filthy undead goblins.
"It is it…" Hitori looked back at the goblin, he pushed his right leg back and placed his hand on his katana's grip, "if I take it out… the goblins will die too."
The king suddenly increased its pace.
Hitori pulled his katana out and ducked the goblin's attack.
He rolled on the floor and appeared behind the goblin.
Hitori managed to get a deep cut on the king's left leg.
The king raised its flail even before it turned around, then it landed a hard smash on Hitori.
Hitori dodged it, rolled forward, and stopped right near the goblin's leg.
Hitori held his katana reverse grip, like a knife, and stabbed it in the king's left leg.
A shrill scream came from the goblin, it raised its leg to crush Hitori's skull but Hitori managed to run away.
The king started to turn.
Hitori held his katana slantingly downwards and charged at the king.
Right at the moment, the king turned around, Hitori's katana swung above from below, covered in greenish-red liquid.
The king's reflex remained so slow that it forgot to scream.
It landed on its knees.
Its blood spread on the floor, the goblin realized that its left leg from the knee was no more.
