Son, “Mom” Will Back You

Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Gu Nian gave him a smile.

She lifted the black silky ribbon in her hand to wrap it over his eyes. Gauging the difference in height between the two of them, she realized that this task turned out to be a lot more challenging that she had initially expected.

"Oh, Mr. Luo, let's head over to where the stairs are so I can put this over you."

"Okay."

Gu Nian had to stand three steps above him in order to reach the suitable height. Carefully perching behind his shoulder, Gu Nian waited for Luo Xiu to take his spectacles off before she placed the ribbon over his now-closed eyes and tied it into a bow at the back of his head gently.

"Alright." Gu Nian smiled. "This way it will come off with a light tug. – Let's go and check out your pleasant surprise now!"

Gu Nian was about to walk down the hallway when she was done talking. Then, as though recalling something, she turned and asked with slight embarrassment, "Can you not see?"

With his eyes closed, Luo Xiu lowered his head slightly and his thin lips curved ever so little. "What do you think?"

Gu Nian was taken aback a little.

A few strands of black hair freed themselves from the ribbon and draped over his forehead. Luo Xiu's skin tone that was so pale it was almost colorless contrasted greatly against the black ribbon, making him an indescribably sexy.

With such a beautiful face and how he had let her blindfolded him without a shred of doubt and was about to follow her to an unknown place.

This was such a deep…

Trust from a son for his mother!

Old mother Gu Nian was so touched that tear filled her eyes. She didn't even give it a second thought when she reached out for Luo Xiu's hand and had him held onto her wrist.

"Follow me, Mr. Luo Xiu. I will take good care of you!"

"… …"

The two walked at a steady pace in the quiet hallway.

They stopped in front of a door that was ajar.

Gu Nian opened up the door carefully and walked inside with Luo Xiu in tow.

She inhaled lightly, turned, and asked, "Are you ready? I am about to remove the ribbon."

"Mmm."

Gu Nian wasn't sure whether it was just her imagination but Luo Xiu's hand that was holding onto her wrist seemed to have tightened a little.

She didn't have too much time to think about that before she reached out and tugged on the black silk ribbon.

Shoo.

The ribbon dropped and Luo Xiu opened up his eyes.

Being able to see again made everything blurry and, before he could even see clearly again, he heard several party poppers popping not too far away from him –

POP! POP! POP!

Confetti were flying all over the room and the somewhat familiar but not so much faces surrounded the room and all of them with bright smiles on them.

"Happy birthday, Mr. Luo!!!"

"Happy birthday!!"

Among all the random congratulatory words, someone who was tone deaf took the lead and, all of a sudden, the room was drowned in laughter and the chorus of the birthday song:

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear … …"

Luo Xiu, "… … … … …?"

The only word that could describe this birthday celebration was cacophonous.

Gu Nian took the opportunity when Luo Xiu was requested by the others to cut into the cake to run out and apologize to the shop owner and only returned into the room after an understanding had been reached.

As soon as she walked back inside the room, she saw the birthday boy leaning up against the wall with a smile on him.

She had never saw such a smile on Luo Xiu before. She wasn't sure whether it was the light in the room or his emotions, but it looked both slightly threatening and distance. It was seductive in a devilish way.

As though recalling something, she shuffled up to him with her fairy smile. "Mr. Luo Xiu, are you happy with my birthday planning today?"

Luo Xiu looked over at her.

Gu Nian, feeling hopeful, said, "About that wish of mine that we have talked about earlier…"

Luo Xiu, "Pardon me."

"Huh?"

Gu Nian looked up but, before her eyes could focus, she was rubbed on her head in a slightly forceful and restrained fashion.

The voice, ringing next to her ear, was low and deep.

"Have I said that? My memory seemed not to be serving me well."

Gu Nian, "… …"

Gu Nian, "??"

Translator's rambling:

To my dear readers of MWBY. Please check out my newest pet project The Greatest Astrologist. It is a novel that is quite different than my usual ones but, I insist that if you are a reader of MWBY, then naturally you get me. ;) So do hop over, take a look, and let me know what you think whether you like it, dislike it, or feel neutral about it.

Here's my one-line blurb on the novel:

The greatest astrologist of her time had transmigrated into a novel with a switch-at-birth trope as the real daughter. Worry not, this is not "another" one of those transmigration novel. Our MC cares more about astrology than faceslapping cannon fodders or becoming the heir of the family fortune!
