Rory sounded very sure, which made Jarron become less certain about his judgment. Then his doubts came out subconsciously. “Who is your joker in the pack?”
He watched his face intently to catch every nuance of expression.
Rory didn’t give him a straight answer, just looking at his father’s eyes of anticipation with a reluctant smile. “Dad, the race hasn’t started right now and I’m not sure if we can go into partnership with her so I can’t say for certain whether I can accomplish the project. But we won’t be the loser in regard to the race.”
“Won’t be the loser? What kind of car racing expert you’ve got and lent you so much faith in the race? Don’t you know that giant groups like the King Group all have been sniffing around Nicola? They made an astronomical offer to Nicola and if she took what options will remain for us?” A faint sneer crossed his face.
Rory, pacified his father smiling, “No matter what they offer, I will take you by surprise, you will see.”
Although Jarron knew Rory was a man of integrity and he never lied to anyone for once, Rory’s confidence really startled him and made him begin to wonder who is his whiz at racing and imagine their success to come.
A surge of excitement came over him when he thought about that but he had to subdue it. He was afraid that all that would be a fond dream and the more anticipation he had the more disappointment he got.
“Dad, you may just rest assured that. It must be a surprise pocket rather than a wet–blanket.” With a reassuring smile, Rory tried to dispel his doubts. “And the game is coming soon, you will witness it with your own eyes.”
“I’ve got something else to deal with so I have to go now.” Finishing his words Rory rose to his feet and was ready to leave.
Jarron got a thrill of excitement. Rory’s words were like a confidence booster to Jarron, making
him take what Rory said seriously.
At the same time, Rory had been outside the company, and as soon as he took out his phone, the phone number of Nova crossed his mind. After a heavy breath, he eventually dialed her.
When Rory’s call rang up Nova was getting back in her car. The cell phone’s caller ID readout
told her Rory was on the line.
“Hello, Rory?”

Blue veins stood out on Henry’s temples as if he was going to tear Rory into shreds.
