Soul for a Girlfriend?

Chapter 246 - So-called 'Jokes'

Chapter 246 - So-called 'Jokes'

Shiraishi was sitting beside me with a stiff expression on her face, while I was staring at the dude who had a huge smile on his face. The piece of paper was stretched open, as he started reading through its contents, "Shiraishi Suzuha, is a girl who can't stick to a single guy. She needs to get smashed every two days by her new boyfriend. What an easy girl she is."

My eyes shifted slightly towards Shiraishi. There was a stiff smile on her face, as if she was trying to play it off casually. She was quite used to these sorts of things.

I wonder what kind of people she involves herself with, that normalises doing such things.

"You look quite proud while reading it. Did you write it?" I said, narrowing my eyes at him. Since I never faced such a situation where I needed to stand up for someone, I was at a loss for words.

"It doesn't matter who has written it. These are straight facts." He said while chuckling. For some reason, it appeared quite funny to him. Even if he was joking around, he should've known that Shiraishi wasn't enjoying this.

Or maybe because Shiraishi kept enduring these, they got the audacity to pull such 'pranks'.

"Saishi…" I heard a low voice from Shiraishi calling out my name. Not paying attention to her, I asked him, "You seem to know a lot about her?"

"Of course. I'm her classmate after all." He laughed, and glanced at Shiraishi, "She might wanna get smashed by me soon."

"So, you're spreading rumours about her?" I made a very random and blunt statement but he wasn't fazed at all, "Call it whatever you want, but this is the truth."

"Do you even know her?"

"Do you know her? You have been dating her for two days, shut up."

"Of course I don't. That's why I don't find any reason to believe in those bullshit rumours." I replied in a plain tone.

The problem was that he was getting backed up by three of his friends. On the other side, I was on my own trying to take control of the situation. But under those circumstances, he had the upper hand on me.

He was laughing with his friends, while I could feel Shiraishi getting uncomfortable. But for some reason, she wouldn't speak up. Despite her outgoing nature, she was keeping quiet.

How interesting.

"Why is Sakamaki here?" I was standing there like an idiot trying to assess everything when I heard a faint voice calling out my name followed by an irritated sigh, "This dude again…"

Turning around, I noticed Moriko standing next to Shiraishi. Her eyes were staring at the figure of Shiraishi, who seemed to be a bit relieved at seeing her friend. Shig was staring at me, but averted his gaze as soon as our eyes met.

He was still mad at me.

"I… called him." Shiraishi replied to Moriko, whose eyes shifted towards the dude. Looking at the sudden development, he commented, "But still it doesn't change the fact that she is a hoe."

His comment was quite unnecessary, and even his friends flinched at his sudden statement.

"Ayo! You still going on about that?" Moriko asked with an annoyed voice. She nodded her head and said in a rough tone, "Give it a rest, bitch!"

It seems like he was teasing Shiraishi for quite a while now. And noticing Moriko lunge at him, his composure changed into a submissive one as he laughed awkwardly, "I'm just playing, Moriko."

Narrowing her eyes, she said with a distasteful expression on her face, "Can't you see she doesn't like it? Are you retarded?"

"You do understand you're harassing her, right?" I said, even though it wasn't that serious. I just wanted him to feel cornered. His eyes grew wide and his eyes instantly turned towards me, "Wha...what!?"

"Oh… you didn't know? Spreading rumours and sabotaging someone's individuality is an offense?"

The smile on his face slowly faded away. His friends were already getting a bit uneasy since he made that comment and now that I said something like that, the concern on their faces was even more clear.

"I wonder what your homeroom teacher will say, if she got to know that your pathetic ass does things like these." I said, but he chuckled and replied, "Hah! She would never tell the teacher."

"I would." Moriko replied instantly, which made him stagger for a moment. He stared at her with a sheepish smile. Shiraishi opened her lips to say something, but the words didn't come out, "Adacchin…"

"And ruin her reputation even more?" He was cornered and the desperation in his voice obvious. Moriko laughed and said, "I don't think anyone in the class cares about these as much as your pathetic ass does."

"So what? Rumours don't take much to spread." Following that sentence, he glanced at Shiraishi and sneered, "Just like her legs!"

He was crossing the line and even his friends were slowly realising it. They weren't laughing with him anymore as he was getting more and more disrespectful and vulgar with his so-called, 'joke'.

"Hey, shut the fuck up, bruh!" I heard Shig interrupting him in a rough tone. With a frown on his face, he added, "You're not funny. Lame ass."

"Ayo, Shig getting mad." One of his friends commented in a rather concerned tone. The situation was slowly getting heated and a few of her classmates were staring at us now.

"Of course, he was her bitch." He replied, which seemed to trigger Shig. With an exhilarated expression, he tried to walk towards him, but Moriko held him back.

"Ayo, don't open my mouth, Bitch."

"Yeah, what was the last time you got a woman's touch?"

It appeared that Shig was getting mad for Shiraishi's sake even though they broke up on quite a bad term.

Shig was a good guy. Maybe that's why Shiraishi treated him that way.

"Come on! I'm just reading what's written here." He said in a submissive tone, as I said, "And? You're surely enjoying yourself."

"So? Doesn't mean I wrote that."

The things written on that paper appeared to be printed, so there was no way for us to guess the perpetrator by matching handwriting.

Improvise.

"That's printed, isn't it? I can frame you and no one will bat an eye."
