Sovereign of the Firmaments

Chapter 18 - Bullseye

Chapter 18 - Bullseye

'Since I was able to get an experience point, I think I will get more experience points if I hit the target.'

Lucas muttered to himself as he felt he was pretty much playing a game.

Using the spell to increase the mastery and the system is measuring the progress with the experience points.

'I wonder where this system came from. Who can possibly create it? Is it god? Or is it the devil?'

Lucas wondered about the origins of the system.

'Ding,

Once the host becomes the 'Sovereign of the firmament', the system can answer it. Until then, the system requests the host to not worry about the system origins.

'Oh. You act all mysterious now?'

Lucas scoffed at the timid system and shook his head.

'Anyway, I learnt my first spell successfully.'

Even though there were many dangers in this world, Lucas had just started his mage practice. So, he was not worried about those dangers now and only focused on the spell.

Overall, Lucas was liking his new life pretty much.

'Let's check how much damage this single thunder bullet does.'

Lucas always had one mentality in his past life 'know your own capabilities first before thinking about your enemy'.

So, he wanted to know how much damage the 'Thunder bullet' could do and walked towards the wooden practice dummy.

The practice dummy had a perfect hole in his hand as though the 'Thunder bullet' didn't have any resistance passing through the wooden hand.

'With this, I can kill a low-level squire like myself without a problem.'

Generally, basic elemental spells could injure low-level squires and could only kill novices. However, the basic thunder spell had a lot of destructive power that is enough to kill a low-level squire directly.

'This will only make me use this spell more and more but I lack the magic power. I need to find a good magic power recovery cultivation technique.'

Soon, he went back to his shooting practice while thinking about the cultivation technique.

However, he knew it was very hard to find and even if found one, he needed a lot of gold coins for that.

'Swoosh'

'Puchi'

'Swoosh'

'Puchi'

'Ding,

Inferior aim. gained 1 experience point.

Basic thunder spell (2/ 100 experience points)

'Ding,

Inferior aim. Gained 1 experience point.

Basic thunder spell (3/ 100 experience points)

'Ding,

Inferior aim. Gained 1 experience point.

Basic thunder spell (4/ 100 experience points)

In a row, Lucas aimed at the practice dummy three times and for the three times, he only missed his aim by an inch, making him a little annoyed; however, that didn't discourage him.

'Phew...lonewolf, you can do it.'

Taking a deep breath, Lucas tried his single spell one more time.

'Swoosh'

'Puchi'

'Ding,

Bullseye. Gained 5 experience points.

Basic thunder spell (9/ 100 experience points)

'Yes...finally, I did it.'

Lucas punched the air with a determined look on his face.

'Ding,

The remaining magic power in the magic sea:- 40 units.

'Looks like I have become proficient in the spell. I think practising anymore is just wasting the magic power.'

Even though he planned to use it eight times, Lucas was satisfied after hitting his target once and decided not to try the spell anymore.

'For the next few days, I will practice those exercises to get used to this body before going to the 'Myriad primordial forest'.'

That's right!

Lucas was planning to enter the 'Myriad primordial forest' and there were a few reasons and they were to increase his strength and at the same time to collect the spirit beasts parts and ingredients.

Generally, there are two quick and legal ways to make money in this town.

One is to become an adventurer, pick a mission with a good reward from the adventurer's guild and complete it.

And the other one is to enter the 'Myriad primordial forest' to either kill the spirit beasts or collect rare ingredients flowers or fruits that could fetch a good price.

"Evan will be worried if he knows I am planning to enter the 'Myriad primordial forest' as it is a very dangerous place for a low-level squire like me. For now, I will not say anything and let's see after I get used to this body."

Lucas didn't plan to tell his little brother about his plans to enter the forest as he would become adamant on tagging along with him or either send Benard to follow him.

However, Lucas wanted Bernard to remain along with Evan all the time. Only then, he could be at ease.

Soon, Lucas started his special training to get adjusted to his new body as he wanted to check the limits of the body.

....

Time continued to pass and soon, it was morning.

The small open ground in the courtyard was filled with 10 young squires who were guided by a Tier 1 lesser knight Porter.

'Aargh...this is such a pain.'

'I can stand in this posture for too long.'

'He is thin and weaker than us but how was able to do it?'

One hour after their first training session, all the young squires were feeling a lot of pain and were not doing properly except for one weak and thin young man.

He had his eyes closed as he was standing on the toes of his left leg with his other leg half folded.

Currently, everyone was doing one of many postures that Lucas had written on the parchment given to Porter and they were nearly breathless; however, Porter didn't have any plans to stop the training session anytime soon.

'They are better than I thought; however, he is interesting.'

Lucas, who was watching the first-day training session of the young squires nodded his head at all the young squires; however, only one young squire caught his eye.

'Let's see what happens after a month.'

He was not expecting any immediate results and wanted to see their progress in a month.

'However, I need to find some pills and potions to increase their strength. For that, once again, I need gold coins.'

In this world, if someone didn't have the talent, then he could use special pills and special potions to increase his strength in both 'Way of mages' and 'Way of knights'; however, it costs so much just to buy a single one of those pills and potions, not to mention buying for 10 young squires.

'I need to hurry up and get used to my body.'

Soon, Lucas went back to his training after spending some time with his little brother.
