Chapter 276 Ancient Level
Chapter 276 Ancient Level
“I had no idea you two girls were alluding to Camelia and Kara when you were talking about the meat and potatoes! Why didn’t you two just speak plainly!” Elliot said to his sisters accusingly after he finally got an explanation of the situation from Camelia after Kara burst out laughing at his words.
“I told you that sister Camelia cooked the meat!” Jennifer said feeling aggrieved.
“And I told you that sister Kara grilled the potatoes!” Jessica said indignantly as though that was all the explanation she needed to give.
Elliot shook his head helplessly with a laugh.
“Yes. And of course the cooks of meats and potatoes are widely understood as being potential wife candidates as well. It truly is my fault for not understanding your words.” Elliot smiled at his sisters with doting sarcasm.
Both girls pouted at Elliot cutely.
“We were just concerned about your happiness.” Jessica mumbled.
“Yeah. After fighting so hard, we thought it would be good if you can have someone to have and to hold each night.” Jennifer added, still completely innocent of the things that couples do each night when they are “holding” each other.
Elliot, Camelia and Kara almost choked on their food at Jennifer’s words.
“Let’s not talk about this.” Camelia said hastily.
“Uhhuh.” Kara nodded vigorously.
“Yes, yes. Let’s just eat. The food is really good! Hahaha!” Elliot laughed awkwardly as he helped himself to more food.
The twins rolled their eyes slightly at them and decided to finally drop the subject.
“Continue next time?” Jennifer’s glance at Jessica seemed to ask.
“You bet! Sister Kara is still the best!” Jessica’s slight nod seemed to say.
“We’ll see about that.” Jennifer grinned and started to eat.
The group ate in comfortable silence after that, and enjoyed a rare moment of respite and togetherness.
As soon as that’s done, Elliot could finally breathe out in relief. Whatever happened to the rest of the world from that moment on, as long as he had the four hundred human beings in his Dimensional Fortress, Earth’s native human beings would not go extinct!
He was finally ready to explore the entire continent at high speed to kill as many Emperors and Hegemons as possible, and to rescue as many human beings as possible!
“Ready?” Elliot asked his sisters.
“Ready.” They both answered in unison.
“Put on your rings then! Let’s hunt!”
The three of them disappeared from sight as Elliot blinked them away.
And not a moment too soon.
A mere second after they disappeared, a massive explosion rocked the spot they were at!
BOOM!!!
Elliot whirled backwards to look at the explosion in complete surprise. He had not detected the presence of any enemies!
Where did the explosion come from?
He turned to his sisters and gestured for them to distance themselves from the site of the explosion.
They nodded and obeyed instantly.
They knew the gravity of the situation, and what the explosion which took place completely without any warning signified.
An enemy stronger than them had arrived.
The two girls retreated a couple kilometers back, and hid themselves atop a tall tree with a clear view of the clearing Elliot was at.
At that distance, any collateral damage from any fight that might take place would be severely weakened, and they would have time to retreat in complete safety.
Judging by the earlier blast that completely pulverized the ground, their enemies were quite powerful!
Thankfully, they had the Rings of Absolute Stealth that could hide them perfectly. Any energy, sound and even smell that they produce would be perfectly negated by the ring. Even if they shouted with all of their strength, the soundwaves they produced would immediately be neutralized by the ring!
Of course if their energy or bodies interacted with anything around them, the enemy would be able to detect changes to the thing impacted.
Additionally, another great function of the rings they got from El’Taras was that all who wore the ring would be able to see and sense each other as though they were not stealthed at all.
It was a very useful feature that would allow the three siblings to travel together safely while allowing them to still maintain a degree of togetherness.
Back in the clearing, their enemies were feeling rather frustrated by their sudden disappearance.
“Damn it! I had them clearly in my sight! How the f*** did they manage to disappear just like that?” A powerful voice rang out from the empty sky.
“You shouldn’t have started with an exploratory attack. Search the area. I did not detect any space energy ripples. They must still be around.” Another powerful but more authoritative voice sounded and reprimanded the first voice sternly.
“I understand. It will not happen again. Platoon one. Go.” The first voice rang out gravely.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
An entire platoon of fifty powerful Emperors landed on the ground out of nowhere and shimmered out of their stealth.
They were all in high tech military gear, and exuded a freakishly similar aura that reeked of death.
“Clones?” Elliot immediately thought. However, he quickly discarded that thought when he noticed very slight differences in height and body size among the fifty soldiers.
Elliot rose a few meters into the sky and continued observing the soldiers with one eye while straining his senses to the utmost to try and detect the two powerful voices he heard earlier.
His heart was calm and was very coldly observing and analyzing the situation even though he had a very, very close shave with death.
If he and his sisters had worn the ring and blinked away just a second slower, they would have been caught in the earlier blast!
However, for all his efforts, Elliot simply couldn’t sense the owners of the two voices even though he could very clearly hear them.
At moments like this, the best thing to do was to lay low and gather as much information as possible first.
The fifty Emperors took out scanners of some sort and immediately dispersed in every direction.
A few even passed directly underneath him, and failed to detect him at all.
“This particular reward from the Beast Tide is truly Godly.” Elliot thought with satisfaction.
He glanced at the Emperors who were approaching the tree where Jessica and Jennifer were hiding, and as expected, the soldiers went right past them without stopping.
After a few moments, the Emperors returned to the sky and disappeared from Elliot’s senses completely.
“I see. You must have gotten your hands on an item that provides absolute stealth. Well, let’s see if your stealth can withstand my Great Wind Empire’s special attack.” The second voice sounded arrogantly from the sky.
With that, a horrendously powerful wave of Wind Energy appeared out of nowhere and blasted out in all directions with great force!
Instantly, Elliot confirmed one very alarming thing.
He was up against someone who was at least at the Ancient level!
