Speed Is King

Chapter 291 Aerodynamics

Chapter 291 Aerodynamics

The road they were in was as broad as broad can be, and with so many race cars wrecked and still many others so far behind that they were effectively out of the race, there was a lot of room for the drivers to maneuver.

Elliot glanced around at the colourful cars around him that were for some reason closing in on his position from all directions despite being on such a massive road.

“Ganging up on me huh? Let’s see if you qualify first.” Elliot scoffed at them.

“Beast Totem!!”

Elliot summoned a massive Beast Totem that was as big as the car he was in and it slammed down heavily behind him.

Earlier, he had tested his power and found that although the elemental energy lock down was pressing in heavily on his own energy, he was still able to circulate it.

In fact, the elemental energy lock down forced him to work his energy with twice the effort, and the exertion strangely felt pretty good.

“It must be like exercise.” Elliot thought to himself. “The more burden you carry while practicing, the faster and stronger you will be when you do it without burdens. Interesting! I should do that to train myself.”

In the whole known universe, Elliot was probably the only one to view the highly feared energy lock down device as an exercise equipment!

As soon as the Darklight Beast Totem slammed on the ground, a striking neon green aura suffused outwards from it and covered a massive one square kilometer in area!

At the next moment…

SCREEEEEE! SCREEEEEEE!!

BAM! BOOM! CRASH!!

Several race cars swerved around violently at extremely high speed! Some flipped and exploded by their lonely selves. Others crashed and brought some friends along in their journey to the underworld.

Out of the eight cars that were closing in on Elliot, only one swerved away. And even then, it managed to regain control of his car and didn’t flip like the others.

The remaining seven cars closed ranks and continued to slowly close on him.

“Only 1 beast among you guys? Ah well better than nothing.” Elliot muttered off handedly as he browsed his very long list of skills in his mind to decide what skill he should use next.

“Let’s see… Blade tornado is quite viable. But it’s boring. I’ve used it too much against Jagor Tawlon. How about… HOLY MACKAREL!” Elliot shouted as he caught sight of several large weapons starting to poke out of the windows of the seven race cars!

RPGs, Laser Rifles, and even a harpoon like contraption!

“This brings back really bad memories.” Elliot grimaced as his mind flashed back quickly to the RPG fired by Natoru which started everything.

“It may have worked the last time, but I am no longer the same old weakling I was before.” Elliot could feel a deep seated wave of anger sweep through him and he growled menacingly.

Blink.

“Lightning Strike.”

CRACK! BOOM!!!

Blink.

“Azure Lightning Blast.”

Elliot didn’t even need to transform into his White Dragon Transformation to cast his go-to long distance skill anymore. However, it wasn’t for a target far away. He cast it at point blank range at the driver of the second car.

Briefly, Elliot could see that it was a burly human male with a strange tattoo on the whole of his left cheek, his face contorting in extreme disbelief at the fact that Elliot could still use his skills when the rest of the racers obviously couldn’t.

Didn’t matter.

Booom!!!

Elliot leapt up and blinked to his own car which was starting to slow down in the absence of a driver.

He drew Gilgamar out of his sheath and swung it towards the other five race cars. A thin but indescribably sharp wave of fire energy shot out of the blade and caused one to explode into smithereens while the other four careened wildly out of the way.

Pointless maneuvering.

Elliot blinked towards them and finished them off ruthlessly with Gilgamar.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Blink.

Within seconds, he was back in the driver’s seat and resumed putting the pedal to the metal as though nothing had happened.

“Punks.” Elliot sneered at them and focused on finishing the race as fast as he could.

Too bad he didn’t have any skills to influence engines, or else he would have certainly spammed it to crank up the speed of his race car.

Elliot hit an incredible six hundred seventy five kilometers an hour and effectively reached the top speed of his car.

His engine had reached maximum power output and there was no more additional power he could utilize to overcome the air resistance to gain even more speed.

“Let’s see if my red dragon can function as a rocket booster.” Elliot thought with a chuckle to himself.

Elliot willed a humongous red dragon to manifest above his bright red and blue race car and then got it to unleash a powerful dragon breath!

GRAAAAHHHHH!!!!

The powerful dragon breath pushed Elliot’s car ahead even faster!

Seven hundred kilometers per hour.

Seven hundred thirty kilometers per hour.

Seven hundred fifty kilometers per hour.

Seven hundred sixty kilometers per hour!

His red dragon breath boosted his speed by almost a hundred kilometers per hour!

However, to maintain that speed, he needed to constantly use the dragon breath, and that was a very huge waste of energy.

“There must be a smarter way to do it.” Elliot mused as he released his red dragon energy.

His race car rapidly dropped its speed to a stable six hundred seventy five kilometers an hour.

He started to experiment with his applications of energy.

“First let’s make this car perfectly aerodynamic. I know that in theory, the most perfect aerodynamic shape is the tear drop. Let’s try it. But let’s not mess around with its lift. I don’t want to this car to start flying.” Elliot chuckled.

“Wind energy barrier.”
