Chapter 50
Chapter 50
“I say we summon Void Walker Jessica Sands and ask her to explain herself.” Director Goldwing said emotionlessly.
“And if she doesn’t know how she did it?” The nerdy Void Walker asked Director Goldwing calmly.
“Then we must ask ourselves, how much is that information worth? And whether or not memory extraction methods should be used on her.” Director Goldwing said with a gentle smile.
The nerdy Void Walker smiled benevolently at her as well.
Nobody else in the room dared to move a muscle. And almost for an entire minute, nobody even dared to breathe.
Both may be smiling, but no one in the room missed the hidden meanings and the explosive undercurrents behind those smiles.
Both are honored representatives of two of the top factions of the known Universe.
The Void Walkers of the mysterious Northern Stars as well as the Golden Dragons of the powerful Central Galaxies.
The Northern Stars was a loose coalition of several powerful and ancient clans. Although they were not united into a Star System, they had the power to rival even the strongest of all the Systems in the Universe.
No one dared to cross them, especially not the powerful and mysterious Void Walker clans which controlled the power of Space and Time.
And double especially not the Sands of Time Clan which specialized in Time Travel.
No one, except the powerful Systems of the Central Galaxies, of course.
The Central Galaxies was the most advanced and prosperous region of the known Universe, and contained within it five mighty Systems. One of them was the Golden Dragon System from which the Dragon Empress was from. They feared no one, and they said and did anything they wanted to.
“You want to use memory extraction methods on my granddaughter?” The nerdy Void Walker’s smile grew wider as his lips tasted the words.
“The very same memory extraction methods MY clan generously donated to our Universe to fight off the Dark Cosmic Invasion?” The nerdy Void Walker’s eyes gleamed with sincere amusement and mirth.
Nobody in the room knew when it happened, but somehow they all found themselves sidelined in the meeting room that had transformed into a wide open space with only the Void Walker and Director Goldwing standing in the middle.
“Void Confinement!” The young elven mage smiled bitterly as he shook his head in awesome wonder at the powerful spell which the nerdy Void Walker had casted under their very noses without anyone of twelve powerful Directors noticing.
Void Confinement was a powerful spell which isolated the caster and his target in a separate and thus impregnable space which would allow them to fight with all of their powers until they resolved their conflict.
Or until one of them died.
“Director Goldwing is truly too reckless. She should know better than to threaten the old Walker’s only granddaughter.” The young elven mage sighed.
“Chairman, are you going to allow this to happen?” A fearsome looking black man in full black attire snarled at the young elven mage. “Director Goldwing represents the Golden Dragon System!”
“I am still thinking about it. Afterall, Director Goldwing did make a rather outrageous suggestion. Being a new Director does not excuse her from such a thing.” The young elven mage, who was also the Chairman of the Board, replied with a light chuckle.
“However, feel free to try and dismantle Director Sands’ Void Confinement spell if you wish. You have my permission to “disallow” this from happening.”
The Black Dragon Emperor growled lightly and fell silent.
Within the Void Confinement spell, Director Goldwing was scowling lightly at the Void Walker. However, for some reason, she was strangely calm and unworried even when she realized that she had been caught in the Void Walker’s spell.
“Old man, you’re making a really bad mistake.” Director Goldwing said softly as her scowl deepend into a frown. “You will regret this.”
The Void Walker began to laugh. Loud, roaring laughter that came out straight out of a bellyful of mirth and incredulous surprise at Director Goldwing’s audacity.
He was still laughing when Director Goldwing unleashed her full power. A mighty golden dragon silhouette appeared behind her and immediately released a colossal fire and lightning dragon breath at the Void Walker.
“Oh my. Director Goldwing had actually successfully mastered Fire and Lightning. We might have another Hegemon within our ranks soon!” The young elven mage exclaimed lightly in surprise.
However, the powerful fire and lightning dragon breath failed to even get close to the Void Walker before it disappeared into a portal which suddenly appeared in its path.
Director Goldwing immediately blinked away with her own considerable mastery over space magic when she saw her dragon breath disappear into the portal.
True enough, her dragon breath appeared from a spot somewhere behind her previous position and shot out with undiminished power. If she hadn’t blinked away, she would have been hit by her own dragon breath.
“That damned Void Walker is really powerful! At this rate, I wouldn’t even be able to touch him with my attacks!” Director Goldwing thought to herself with a sinking feeling. “Must I use THAT item already? Damn it! It’s only my first week as a Director here!”
However, before the fight could get serious, the young elven mage’s voice suddenly rang out from within both their minds.
“Enough. Director Sands, I am sure Director Goldwing didn’t actually mean what she said. Director Goldwing, please be careful with your words next time. Now, please dissolve the Void Confinement and let us resume our discussion. The apocalypse on Planet Earth has already begun, and we need to decide on how to deal with the protests.” The young elven mage said.
The Void Walker turned to look at the young elven mage whose eyes were glowing lightly.
“A silver glow? That elven punk isn’t playing around. I better stop playing around as well.” The Void Walker muttered and cancelled the Void Confinement with a wave of his hand. Everything returned to their original position, and it was as though nothing had happened at all.
“Excellent! Thank you very much, Directors.” The young elven mage beamed at the Void Walker and the Golden Dragon in human form.
“Of course Chairman El’Taras. Your will is my command.” The Void Walker humbly replied.
“Hmph.” Director Goldwing simply scoffed and looked away.
“Good! Good! Let us resume our discussion. Now to placate the masses and make The Games on Planet Earth more interesting, I am proposing that we increase the difficulty by one level.. Those in favor, please raise your hands.”
