Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 119 Golden-Eyed Demon

Chapter 119 Golden-Eyed Demon

As Eisen turned around and looked at the group of Omega Players in front of him, standing in the center of the street.

With a light smile, the old man fixed his tie and stepped forward while scratching his beard. "Hello there, what may be the problem?" He asked, possibly with light provocation in mind. And as such, Merc could barely hold back his anger.

"What’s the fucking problem? You not only killed nearly all of my products, but even fucking stole two of them!" The Combat Merchant yelled out as he was glaring at Kiron and Sky, the latter simply hiding behind Eisen to avoid the stares.

But Eisen looked back at him and moved his hand through the Fey-Kin boy’s hair before pointing him to stand beside his sister. After all, Sky was only level 15. Eisen then turned to Kiron. "Just curious, but do you know swordsmanship?"

Quickly, the half-dragon nodded, before Eisen quickly handed him the Zweihänder that he had been carrying all day. "Go ahead and use this, then. You should be able to use it better than me, just in case. Keep it wrapped up for now, until they do something." Eisen whispered, and his Knight quickly nodded.

"Yes, M’Lord." He replied, and this small conversation made Merc just angrier.

"God fucking dammit, could you stop ignoring me?! You know who I am, so why are you fucking with-"

But Merc was quickly interrupted by his brother who glared to the side and held his arm in front of him.

"I said to stop swearing. We had a deal. If you don’t follow my conditions, I will not help you." Cial told Merc off, who then simply started grinding his teeth as he stepped back a slight bit, before Cial chose to walk up to Eisen.

"Hello Sir, I have heard that you caused a little bit of trouble for my brother. Don’t worry, nothing will happen as long as you give Merc his products back and pay for those you destroyed. We can work out a payment plan if you do not have the mon-"

Before Cial even finished that sentence, Eisen sighed loudly as he shook his head. "Listen, those ’products’ that you are talking about are living creatures. On top of treating them absolutely horribly, he even had two half-people. Both of them have one parent that is a person, not a monster. I do not regret what I have done, and I would do it again. Now leave us alone. Turn around, take those men with you, and never talk to us again. Don’t worry, nothing will happen as long as you just leave." Eisen told him with an obviously fake smile. For a while, Cial stared at him with a face that slowly grew angrier, before he broke out in laughter.

"Well, you are correct that nothing will happen to us, but we will take those two with us. Or rather, how about we take all of them? That girl there seems to be a half-monster just like that boy, is that not right? And the other two there are obviously monsters. The golden wolf may be useful as well. And don’t worry, I am sure we will be able to treat them much better than you would ever be able to." Cial exclaimed in a mocking voice. Eisen wasn’t sure if he really meant what he just said or if he was just trying to rile Eisen up. If it was the latter, it was definitely working.

Watching the whole thing happen, Bree grabbed Sky’s arm and dragged him away while trying to tell Kiron to step back a bit as well. Confused, Sky looked at his sister. "What are you doing? You don’t just want to leave, do you?" He protested, but quickly, Bree shook her head. "No, I’m not leaving, just... getting a little bit further away... Because Eisen is getting angry..." She quietly said, while Sky kept looking at her confused.

While Sky was trying to figure out what Bree meant, Eisen apparently chose to demonstrate.

With a soft smile, Eisen got closer to Cial, far closer than anyone would be comfortable with, and looked down at the young man. "Let me rephrase. I’m not asking you to leave, I’m telling you to. Get off your high horse. You may think that you’re better than me, for whatever reason, but I can quite easily tell you that you are not. Not in the slightest. So just leave." Eisen said in a commanding voice, before Cial began to shake his head.

"You obviously do not realize who is standing in front of you here. Let me show you." The moment that Cial said this, he pointed his staff into the air before it began to shine in an extremely bright light, and two wings of light slowly appeared on his back before the NPCs that looked at what was going on began to cheer at their sight. It seemed like this was really something pretty special.

"As you can see, I am one with the Holy Light of the heavens. I went through great lengths in order to acquire this element, and I have been chosen by the gods to bear this. Doesn’t this make me better than you already, you who is only surrounded by mere monsters?" Cial laughed out with a smirk, and Eisen simply stared at him. Seeing that Eisen didn’t know what to say, the young man began to laugh once more.

"Oh? Speechless, I see? If you’ve realiz-"

"What the fuck are you even talking about?" Eisen interrupted him while shaking his head. "You managed to get an unusual element, what is that supposed to tell me? Should I kneel in front of you now? Should I beg for forgiveness? How can all of you be smart enough to become merchants, while still being such idiots? I’m telling you one last time, leave." Eisen finally said as he turned around to leave. This was getting ridiculous.

This was a game, and he was trying to brag and make himself seem like he was something better with something he got in said game? Cial really had some kind of complex. And even if this wasn’t just a game, he would still be acting ridiculous. To Eisen, Cial just seemed like a kid that always got too much attention, and wanted to keep said attention at all costs, which is why he wanted something so uneccessarily flashy.

So, he thought it would be a waste of time to simply try an scare him into leaving, but then Cial did something that he shouldn’t have. Angrily, he turned to his followers and quite literally commanded them to grab everyone in Eisen’s group, which they managed to do with the exception of Kiron and Aulu. Before Eisen even managed to react, the men simply sprinted toward them and grabbed whoever they could.

Since they did so from all directions, Eisen didn’t know how to react so suddenly and turned around to stare at Cial.

"What do you think you’re doing?" The old man asked with pure fury in his voice as he looked at his companions being basically cuffed.

Usually, something like this should count toward things to be prevented by Guards, but only now did Eisen notice that there was not a single one around, and even those that stood in front of the stables before simply left.

"I’m simply taking what belongs to us. You should be greatful, I’m sure you’ll be happier without th-"

Before Cial could finish what he was saying, Eisen already stepped up to him and placed his hand around his throat. This was a game, and players were supposed to re-spawn. Surely nobody would mind if Eisen was to teach them a lesson.

"Oh, I am greatful. You did something to the guards, so they all left. That means that we’re all alone now, and I’m free to do what I want in here." Eisen said as he activated different skills, those that he used to scare John and those loan sharks before. As golden flames began to burn in his eyes and his skin on his arms turned to rock, Eisen lifted Cial about a foot into the air by his throat, before he looked around at the crowd of NPCs standing there. He didn’t want anyone to get involved in this, and even though this may mean that Eisen had to leave quite a bit sooner than expected, he preferred to make sure nobody got hurt.

Because of that, he stared at the crowd and with his transformed voice yelled out what was on his mind.

"All of you, get away from here!"

Immediately after his words, probably through Eisen’s titles and charisma stats, people in the crowd became riled up, and some even somewhat scared. Since they still didn’t leave, Eisen continued staring at them. Once more, he had to rely on fear to make sure everything worked out alright. Eisen didn’t like the feeling in the slightest and felt like throwing up just at the thought of having so many people fear him. So he swore something to himself, something that leaked out through his voice.

"For the last time, the very last fucking time. Get. Away." Eisen swore to himself to stop relying on fear from that moment on, since he didn’t like the person that appeared whenever he did.

[You have successfully scared 50 people]

[Your base reputation in Ornier has sunken]

Eisen ground his teeth to the point where it felt like they would shatter if he put any more pressure on them, and then looked back at Cial.

"Now to you. I told you again and again to just leave, but you just didn’t get it into your thick skull that you are not better than me, or anyone, in fact. Neither you, nor Merc, nor all of those idiots choosing to blindly follow you for their own gains. Let my friends go, right this second. Do you understand?" Eisen asked loudly, nearly yelling straight in Cial’s face, but the young man just couldn’t say anything. It seemed like he wasn’t used to being yelled at like this.

While Eisen was staring at Cial, Merc chose that this was the best moment to intervene and attack, but Kiron was the one that received that attack instead while the cloth around the Zweihänder he was holding fell off.

Taking that moment of confusion caused by all of this, Caria and Melissa reacted as well, as roots and vines grew out of the ground and slung themselves around all of the other Omegas that were still standing there, and eight bees all flew directly at them to attack, although it was nothing but an inconvenience to say the most.

As everyone was now released, Bree brought Sky away toward safety while different beasts ran and flew past her. Finally, the group of three players that Eisen called for help had arrived, and Jyuuk commanded his beasts to surround the group of omegas so that they couldn’t do anything, while Evalia and Komer were staring at the scene in confusion.

As Eisen saw that Cial and Merc’s group was being completely overpowered, Eisen dropped the man that he was holding up to the ground, and then told everyone to just stop.

"Cial, Merc. This was hopefully the last time that you caused us trouble. If not, you will not get away again, do you understand me?" Eisen asked, and while making faces filled with anger, both of them nodded at each other before looking back at their followers.

Immediately when they did, the group of nine omegas all turned to pure white. They had logged off,now that they weren’t in combat anymore to avoid further conflict and humiliation.

While Eisen was deactivating his skills, he immediately turned to the group of people standing in front of him, all staring at him in worry.

Beside Caria and Melissa, this was the first time that any of them saw what Eisen was like when he got angry like that.

But there was just one thing that Eisen could look at right now, and it definitely wasn’t the faces of his friends.

[Golden-Eyed Demon title received]
