Chapter 674 Learning New Things
Eisen blew into the hot glass and slowly turned it into a bubble that he could easily turn into a proper bottle. The glass itself that Eisen was using was a special mixture as well, since it was made with a large amount of ground-up spatial gems, as well as a few other rather interesting materials. And one of those special, interesting materials was something that Eisen got his hands on after a lot of troubles.
Komer managed to acquire small amounts of Maroon here and there after spreading Starlight’s influence throughout the central continent, and most of that Maroon was swiftly turned into high-grade Margon.
That Margon was obviously safely stored inside of special boxes Eisen made where nobody could steal them, and then they were placed right into Eisen’s item storage as extra insurance.
And now, Eisen used a special technique that he also used when he made the Guardians. He heated up the Margon to the extent where fumes of it started to rise up, fumes that he blew into the not-quite-solid glass bottle. He didn’t need a lot of Margon for something like this, but even a small speck of it would manage to increase the potency of not only the materials that made up the bottle itself, but possibly also the potions placed into that bottle.
Because what Eisen wanted to do with this was rather easy, although he would only get to it once he reached the Enchanting-workshop that he wanted to work at a bit later on as well. He wanted to increase the amount of liquid that this bottle could take manyfold so that he had an easier time storing it. He did also have a few special barrels for this purpose inside of his item storage, but considering that he wanted to make a large amount of different potions, he really didn’t have enough space for all of those barrels in his item storage. He could store the empty ones in spatial gems themselves, but it was something else if they were storing liquids as well. And on top of that, these bottles were perfect so that Eisen could test out a new method where he would ability-enchant the spatial gems with his Item Storage ability first and foremost, as if to try and increase their space a bit more.
But since he didn’t really put any order into this with magic inscription yet, it was more like this bottle had the capabilities of normal spatial gems, meaning that you could use it as a normal bottle while also accessing a small subspace storage as if you had a normal spatial gem or something like that.
Eisen let all of the bottles cool in the annealer here in Gardaks’ glassblowing workshop, and then placed them into his Item Storage, before starting to work on a few other things as well, most notably the different Alchemy-sets that he wanted to make. And of course, beside that, Eisen tried his hand at a few more decorational items that he might be able to use with different sorts of jewelry at some point.
And when he was done, Eisen cracked his knuckles and waited for everything to cool properly while he chose to chat away with Gardaks a little bit. When everything was really ready for Eisen to take with him, although he obviously still didn’t properly acknowledge them as finished item yet, the old man made his way to the next workshop that he would work at for a little while.
And that was Kulox, the Goddess of Enchanting. Luckily, Kulox’s and Arxcat’s, the God of Alchemy, Workshops were rather close together, so Eisen would be able to switch between those two places rather quickly if he needed to, which he did assume to some extent. For some items, he had to get to Arxcat’s Workshop first to work on some things, like treating them with special recipes for Alchemical potions, and for others, he had to be at Kulox’s workshop first to properly enchant everything before then, for example, filling the bottles with potions.
Hence why it was pretty useful that they were close together. They were twins, so they were most likely a lot closer to each other than all of the other Lesser Gods were.
Eisen flew over there after finishing his conversation with Gardaks, still followed by Ambriel who seemed to become more and more angry at Eisen the more this went on. After all, the old man was taking his time in this realm for once, although he usually tried to get through all of the realms as quickly as possible, since his main focus then was to just meet with the Greater Deities for different reasons.
But this time, Eisen wanted to really enjoy himself a little more. This was the realm of his dreams, basically, there was no way that he would pass up on a chance like this for no reason.
He stepped inside of the Enchanting-workshop and took in this once more so familiar yet unique atmosphere, before he headed to the other side of the room to speak to Kulox about using her workstation for a little while.
She seemed a bit surprised that Eisen has asked her for this, but at the same time was too curious to say ’No’. And as such, the old man got started with his work. And since there were quite a lot of items to work with for now... It took Eisen quite some time to finish this up.
He enchanted the weapons and tools first, before also making use of magic inscriptions to bring them further than he usually would be able to with just enchantments, by enhancing and focusing those enchantments even more.
The same was the case with all of the other items, of course. He did the same with the pieces for some of the leather aprons, the shoes, the bags and pouches, and of course he also enchanted the glass bottles properly.
The first thing he did was use a special needle, one that was curved so that Eisen could properly enchant the inside of the bottle, to create enchantments that would help increase the space within this item artificially. And when it came to magic inscriptions, he just properly created the large space with the dots. And to his surprise, it seemed like adding Eisen’s ’Item Storage’ ability to the spatial gems with ability enchanting also helped quite bit. It was as if the dots Eisen could make use of, as well as the maximum distance between each dot, was increased many times over compared to whta it usually would be. That’s what it seemed like to Eisen, at the very least.
By evening, Eisen managed to properly finish all of the enchantments and inscriptions that he could create so far, and then chose to make his way to the next workshop, where he, with Arxcat’s permission, started brewing a few different potions.
First he made the ones that he wanted to solely use to improve upon his leather-based items, placing the pieces of leather into different baths of these concoctions.
And then, the old man got started on creating different potions. Using the best possible materials that he could get his hands on, he first made some High-Grade Mana and Health potions, as well as large amounts of extremely high quality ’Buff’ potions. Potions that increased one’s strength, stamina, or even maximum health for a little while.
On top of that Eisen created a few different potion-jellies that he could be used for different means in an emergency situation. And then, once he was done with the ’General’ things that he could work on whenever he wanted to, he got started on some more special potions with rare ingredients.
Of course, as he had thought, Eisen wasn’t allowed to make use of things that could create a direct imbalance in the mortal realm. Absolutely Unique, Legendary materials that some would fight wars over were a no-go. Eisen respected that, although he was really a little bit disappointed, and just worked with materials that could be gathered in the wild without any particularly special means.
Eisen got to work and created a few more special emergency health potions with new materials that worked on a different basis to regular ones, not only increasing one’s health completely to the limit, but also raising the limits for some time while buffing health regeneration considerably.
It was a powerful potion that Eisen filled the first of the special glass bottles with. Then, he made a potion that was similar to that one, simply with Mana instead of health, and then even with stamina. He could really make potions that would let someone replenish their stamina as if they had a full night’s rest with just a single gulp.
There were even some materials that Eisen had never even heard of that he could use to improve on regular materials. He spoke to some of the other Alchemists here, as well as Arxcat himself of course, to get a few more tips from them.
After all, Alchemy and Enchanting were the two crafting skills that were the most foreign to Eisen right now. It seemed like from the start, the former Eisen’s experience had helped him out a little bit in learning and understanding everything that went into it, but to the current Eisen, they were still as foreign to him as magic was. Even if he made use of them regularly and with ease, there were still a lot of things that he didn’t know about it. Small details, secret tips from true masters, those sorts of things.
Eisen had gotten something like that in the other world as a young man when he studied different crafts under those that had dedicated their life to them, but he didn’t really remember any of this when it came to these two skills.
Of course, he could still use much of his regular knowledge on these skills to make up for that, as he did for the past while, but having true masters teach you about these things intensely was still a lot of help.
Eisen continued to work, hearing potion-recipes from some of the different souls here and working intensely.
At this point, Eisen was obviously already able to go and meet Silmos, as he had finished the quest that he was given by that God, but for now, he wanted to make sure he got the most out of this unique experience as absolutely possible, and chose to continue his work here for a little while longer.
Eisen brewed potions, tried some of them out, and learned a lot of new things. This was a nice feeling every once in a while as well.
