Chapter 571: Causing Trouble

Chapter 571: Causing Trouble

When the Tongyou Island was barreling through the debris, another island charged over. They weren’t in the Tongyou Island’s way, but they were pretty close behind.

Because of that, the debris that was cleared out by the other party would quickly shift to cover up the path the Tongyou Island took.

When the Tongyou Island was busy clearing out a path ahead of them, they didn’t let their guards down. They had been observing the situation around the island.

The second they discovered an anomaly, Liu Qinglan came to look for Shang Xia.

Yun Jing was stationed in the core of the Tongyou Island at the moment and she was assisting Chu Jia by supporting the grand formation that had been laid down. No one knew when Shang Bo would be emerging from seclusion to take the final step.

The only experts on the Tongyou Island who had the ability to deal with the situation at hand were Shang Xia, Ren Bainian, and Liu Qinglan. Of the 3, Liu Qinglan was the weakest as she had barely consolidated her foundations after refining her third extermination origin.

Rising into the air, they went to get Ren Bainian before leaving the confines of the island into the space beyond the protection formation. They entered the path they cleared out earlier but it didn’t take long before several fragments of the Manyu Continent were pushed their way.

Glancing at each other, they didn’t say a word to each other as they turned into streaks of light that charged in the direction of the incoming debris.

As they tried to locate the source of the disturbance, they noticed something after flying for 3000 miles or so.

“Even though we’re so close to them, we’re fortunate they hadn’t noticed us…” Liu Qinglan sighed after they finally regrouped.

Ren Bainian muttered, “Oh yeah, I recognize the geography on that island. I came into contact with the experts there once. They call themselves cultivators from the Northern Sea Holy Land or something…”

“Northern Sea?” Shang Xia said while glancing at Liu Qinglan. “Isn’t that a sect from the Azure Spiritual World?”

Liu Qinglan nodded as she turned serious. “It’s them. Their Northern Sea Mystic Sect is extremely prominent in the Azure Origin World. They might even be stronger than our world’s Divine Capital Sect…”

Sucking in a cold breath, Shang Xia’s eyes widened in shock.

Not knowing what to do at the moment, Liu Qinglan fell deep into thought.

Seeing as neither Liu Qinglan nor Shang Xia was speaking, Ren Bainian remained silent to wait for their decision.

Shang Xia looked at the 2 of them before gritting his teeth to make a decision. “The stronger they are, the more we have to delay their entry to the final showdown. The moment they enter the fray, we’ll definitely be the first to be affected. Also, if they manage to discover us on the way there, they will definitely try to deal with us. They wouldn’t give us a chance to fight for the World’s Will…”

After a slight hesitation, Liu Qinglan nodded in affirmation.

Shang Xia immediately spoke of his plan once he saw her reaction. “Luckily, we discovered their tracks before they could detect us… We can’t let them catch up to us easily. Why don’t we…”

After laying out his plan, they decided what they had to do. Liu Qinglan remained in place as Ren Bainian soared higher into space. He hid himself in a broken landmass directly above the Northern Sea Island’s path and Shang Xia hid himself on the other side.

The Northern Sea Island was basically doing the same thing the Tongyou Island did while passing through the area as they got their experts to open a path for their island to pass through. According to Shang Xia’s plan, even if an accident occurred, there would be enough buffer for them to react.

They chose a good hiding spot as they were sure the Northern Sea Island hadn’t passed by them. After another round of communication and confirming when they would take action, they left simultaneously. They started to push huge fragments of land into the Northern Sea Island’s way. They might not be able to damage the Northern Sea Island that way, but they would greatly slow their progress.

When Shang Xia was making his way to the other side, he flew under the path the Northern Sea Island would take and an inspiration struck him. There was no need for him to launch an attack on the other side. Striking the Northern Sea Island from the underside was also extremely effective.

After they separated, the time to boil a pot of tea barely passed when the massive Northern Sea Island approached. Rays of extermination light flashed through space as the deep rumbling of the moving island rang in their ears.

It was obvious the protectors of the Northern Sea Island were moving whatever fragments in their way away, and it was clear at a glance that the Northern Sea Island was a lot larger than the Tongyou Island. It spanned past a 3000 mile diameter, but because of their sheer size, they suffered tons of damage from the falling debris and the first backlash from the destruction of the Manyu Continent. There were deep craters in many areas of their island. It might be larger than the Tongyou Island, but they looked a lot worse. It didn’t have the spirited vibe of the Tongyou Island and their liveliness.

A short moment later, the island started to sail past the 3 of them. However, they didn’t take action immediately.

Only after a third of the island had passed her location did Liu Qinglan burst into action.

Her Nine-Segmented Whip which had been upgraded to a high-grade weapon by that point swung out while separating into 9 different segments. It flew into the path of the Northern Sea Island and wrapped itself around several smaller land masses. She yanked it violently to the side.

5 chunks of land of varying sizes were dragged over by her whip and they quickly gained speed. As they flew at the Northern Sea Island, they smashed into several smaller fragments on their way there dragging them along. Eventually, over a dozen earth fragments flew at them.

It was also obvious to Liu Qinglan that those fragments wouldn’t trouble the Northern Sea Island in the slightest. As such, she swung her whip out again and she ignored her inner qi consumption as she dragged over more fragments of land.

Doing it again and again, Liu Qinglan caused over 50 huge fragments to fly in the direction of the Northern Sea Island. As they crashed into other fragments and dragged them along, there were a total of 80 or so chunks of earth ready to crash into the Northern Sea Island.

In a short period of time, Liu Qinglan swung her whip 5 times in total. She nearly exhausted her inner qi and she only reserved enough for her to make her escape. She didn’t bother looking at the results of her actions as she turned into a streak of light that disappeared into the sea of debris. She moved according to the route they had planned earlier and flew about in a strange manner before disappearing completely.

Liu Qinglan might be comparable to a speck of dust in terms of size when they took the Northern Sea Island into account, but the disturbance her actions caused couldn’t be hidden from the experts stationed there.

Several beams of light shot into the skies from the island to block those fragments from crashing into them. There were some who flew out into space and avoided those fragments before getting ready to give chase to whoever was causing trouble. They clearly knew that a disturbance of such a scale didn’t come naturally.

Unfortunately, dozens of earth fragments that were much larger in size than the ones Liu Qinglan pulled appeared from the other direction of the Northern Sea Island. They sailed straight for the core region of the island.

Turning around immediately, those experts who wanted to fly after Liu Qinglan returned to defend their island. They quickly intercepted those huge fragments but before they could heave a sigh of relief, dozens of smaller fragments appeared and raced towards the Northern Sea Island. The experts of the Northern Sea Mystic Sect who just stopped the larger fragments were too tired to do a thing.

Even if they had to take the collision of those smaller fragments head-on and suffer a little, the advancement of the Northern Sea Island wasn’t affected at all by the attacks of Liu Qinglan and Ren Bainian. They might have caused a little damage and fright to the experts of the Northern Sea Mystic Sect, but that was it.

What none of them realized was after enduring those 2 sneak attacks, the endless belt of earth fragments below the island was slowly rising as they quickly approached their target.
