Chapter 719: World Ascension: Shattered Weapon
Yun Lu’s cultivation might be a little higher than Shang Xia, but he was attacking the Tongyou Island from the Ji Continent of the Azure Origin World. Shang Xia had the geographical advantage, and if all he had to do was defend, he was confident in taking the strike Yun Lu would unleash.
Now that Yun Lu had a divine weapon, everything changed.
Shang Xia also had a divine weapon, but it was damaged. That might not have stopped it from possessing the properties of a divine weapon, and that allowed Shang Xia to understand the true power of one. He realized the true meaning a divine weapon had in the hands of a Martial Dipper Realm expert!
Only when wielded by a Martial Dipper Realm expert would a divine weapon be able to fully unleash its power!
Back when Shang Xia was in the Martial Extermination Realm, the Abyssal Blade was merely a sharper weapon in his hands.
Facing Yun Lu’s sudden attack, Shang Xia made the decision.
Chu Jia received his instruction and she raised the Spirit Extermination Gourd high above her head and pointed it in the direction of the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range. A look of anticipation could be seen on her face.
In the air above the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range within the Ji Continent of the Azure Origin World, Yun Lu gathered enough energy. He held the Deer Head Divine Staff in his hand and swung it down at the void before him.
A loud thud came from the void beneath his feet and a spatial ripple started to spread to the surroundings.
As he poured a huge amount of his dipper qi into the weapon, the head of the deer on the staff seemed to come alive.
As he continued to pour his inner qi into the staff, the head of a deer slowly started to shape in the space above him. Its neck started to emerge from the void and eventually, its body and limbs materialized. It turned into a Divine Deer made of dipper qi.
Releasing a loud bleat, the deep leaped forward and disappeared into the void.
In several breaths of time, the giant deer appeared above the You Continent. It expanded greatly and became thousands of feet tall.
Even though it was still extremely tiny when compared to the Tongyou Island, no one doubted the fact that it would completely throw the Tongyou Island out of control if it slammed into the giant floating landmass.
Ji Wenlong and Shang Bo might have been controlling the Tongyou Island together from the Beyond Heavens Pavilion, but they couldn’t stop the Divine Deer. Moreover, they were fully focused on placing the Tongyou Island into its designated spot and had no time to care about other things anyway.
Everyone who had their eyes on the You Continent was waiting for Kou Chongxue to make his move!
Indeed. ‘Kou Chongxue’ didn’t disappoint any of them. When the Divine Deer was charging at the Tongyou Island, his sword qi arrived!
A tyrannical aura rose from the Tongyou City and pierced through the Heavenly Screen above them. Even the Beyond Heavens Pavilion couldn’t withstand the might as the aura of the sword qi as it flew straight into depths of space.
The sword qi hadn’t even moved when its aura swept through the lands. Every single Martial Dipper Realm existence from the You, Bing, Ji, Qing, Ji, and Liao Continents turned their attention over!
Fear, horror, apprehension. There were lots of words to describe what they were feeling, but they were basically feeling the same thing.
Martial Dipper Realm Ancestors were able to communicate with the World’s Will in some sort of inexplicable way. However, when facing the power of Kou Chongxue’s sword aura, even that connection seemed to be cut off.
They felt endless fear of what would happen if the sword qi landed on them.
The ray of light and frosty cloud that had reappeared above the body of water disappeared in an instant.
…
In the skies above the Beihai Institution of the Qing Continent, a skinny-looking, scholarly-like man stared in the direction of the You Continent. Light flickered in his eyes and he eventually sighed. He couldn’t help but shake his head reluctantly.
In the air above the Ji Continent of the Azure Origin World, Xuan Lu who had been holding off all their enemies on his own felt his expression sinking. His figure turned blurry as a Fate Dipper Clone was separated from him. The clone flew to the north as quickly as it could.
The moment the clone stepped into the void, a magnificent scene played out in the distance. A myriad of phenomena appeared in the skies and it was as though a spatial labyrinth was formed.
Xuan Lu snorted heavily and poked the air before him. A loud pop was heard and it was as though a glass bubble had shattered. The strange labyrinth broke apart and Xuan Lu’s Fate Dipper Clone emerged. It didn’t stay for long as it rose into the air and flew to the north once again.
This time, nothing else happened.
Even though it seemed like Xuan Lu’s clone had merely been stopped for a fraction of a second, his expression was as ugly as could be. He turned to stare in the direction of the Taihang Mountains.
“Five Mountains Alliance… Yin Wanxiang! Good… Very good…”
No one knew when Feng Yezi appeared at the western end of the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range. He seemed to have returned to the Bing Continent without anyone knowing, but he stared in the direction of Kou Chongxue’s sword qi with a look of utter fear on his face. His figure blurred as he turned to depart.
Behind him, a man who looked more like a farmer more than anything, clad in a short-sleeved azure robe, seemed to anticipate Feng Yezi’s intentions. The deep wrinkles on his hardy and bronze face deepened and he chuckled, “Brother Feng, where are you going?”
Feng Yezi didn’t seem to possess the air of a Martial Dipper Realm expert at that point and he leaped into the air and yelled, “Wen Changqing… No, Yuwen Changqing, you played me! He’s at the fourth element of the Martial Dipper Realm! Kou Chongxue has already refined his fourth fate dipper!”
Deputy Patriarch Wen Changqing of the Yanmen Institution, or more accurately, Yuwen Changqing, wiped the smile off his face. He returned to his original look which was one of age and distress and he sighed, “Brother Feng, running away is not an option. Since you already sided with my Yuwen Family, it’s too late for you to escape.”
Yuwen Changqing of the Yuwen Family! He was the Deputy Patriarch of the Yanmen Institution, but his true identity was a member of the Rose Party!
He had successfully stepped into the Martial Dipper Realm!
“You…” Feng Yezi pointed at Yuwen Changqing’s face but he noticed the man staring at him with an unwavering gaze.
Eventually, Feng Yezi deflated like a balloon and he looked extremely depressed.
A smile escaped from Yuwen Changqing’s lips. “Brother Feng, Kou Chongxue has already gone to deal with Yun Lu. Our chance has arrived!”
…
In the air above the You Continent, the Divine Deer came screeching to a halt the moment Kou Chongxue’s sword qi appeared. Its huge stomps caused the void beneath its feet to shatter and the hills down below were trampled flat.
Next, it broke off Yun Lu’s connection to it and turned around in an attempt to escape to the south.
Before it could cross the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range, the tyrannical sword qi arrived.
Perhaps it knew that it no longer had hopes of returning to the Ji Continent of the Azure Origin World, or maybe it had something to do with Yun Lu’s forceful control, the Divine Deer turned around at the last second and released an ear-piercing screech before charging head-first into the sword qi.
Its magnificent antlers were sliced off without the slightest sound and the next second, the Divine Deer was split in two.
It didn’t manage to stall the sword qi for even a second as the sword qi continued to slash down towards the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range.
With space tearing to a terrifying degree, the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range was sliced in two
As the saying goes, ‘the most astounding sound is not audible. Those peak-tier existences who were observing the situation saw how the entire space was split in half.
The Thousand Leaf Mountain Range cleaved in two and everything in the sword qi’s way started to crumble. A straight and deep valley was thus formed.
Despite the destruction, the sword qi didn’t seem satisfied as it continued to fly south, as though it was hot in pursuit of something.
Who else but Yun Lu could be its target? Even with the Deer Head Divine Staff in his hand, Yun Lu was smart enough to run as soon as the aura of the sword qi emerged earlier.
Unfortunately, being smart didn’t mean he had the ability to outrun the sword qi. He couldn’t shake it off no matter how hard he tried. The sword qi might have been worn down by the Divine Deer and the damage it caused to the Thousand Leaf Mountain Range, but it still had 70 percent or more of its might! It sailed straight at Yun Lu no matter how hard he tried to run and it didn’t seem to be stopping unless it hit its target.
“AH!” Yun Lu screamed in desperation as a figure appeared behind him. It grabbed the divine weapon before stared at the sword qi with pain and despair written all over its face.
Boom… Boom… Boom…
Rumble…
After a series of heaven-shaking explosions, Yun Lu, who was running for his life earlier, turned to look at the devastation. The entire area had turned into a wasteland and blood leaked down his cheeks. The next second, he fell to his knees and he started to vomit mouthfuls of blood.
A spatial ripple appeared beside him and a figure appeared by his side. A cold voice rang in his ears, “Where’s the Deer Head Divine Staff?”
Yun Lu forced himself to raise his head and blood continued to leak down his face. The malevolent expression he wore didn’t fade as he stared at Xuan Lu’s Fate Dipper Clone.
“Where’s the staff?!” Xuan Lu’s clone asked again.
Looking past him, Yun Lu stared at the wasteland that was covered in dust.
With a cold snort, Xuan Lu’s clone appeared in the mess behind him. By the time Yun Lu managed to struggle to his feet, Xuan Lu’s clone returned.
“Your Fate Dipper Clone was completely destroyed. There’s no hope of restoring it any longer.” A cold voice rang in Yun Lu’s mind.
Instinctively, Yun Lu turned to look at the item in Xuan Lu’s clone who was holding a mangled woodled staff in his hand. His gaze froze for a moment.
The antlers on the head of the staff were nowhere to be seen and there was a deep crack down the dead center of it. A twisted look of pain was portrayed by the deer’s head.
Under Xuan Lu’s deathly gaze, Yun Lu felt extremely sluggish as strength left his body.
