“Sir, we’ve escorted the doctor’s family out of the country,” Edward said.

Alexander grunted a yes and rubbed his temples, feeling a bit dizzy. His mind was not fully alert due to the lack of sleep and the nightmare. He casually responded without much thought.

“There’s something else…” Edward hesitated.

“What is it?”

After a pause, Edward said, “The doctor hasn’t left yet and wants to meet you.”

Alexander pondered before asking, “For what?”

“He says he has something to tell you.”

Gazing ahead, Alexander glanced at the clock on the wall—it was still relatively early. “Where is he?”

Edward said helplessly, “At the harbor. The doctor refused to board the ship with his family and has stayed behind.”

The doctor stubbornly wanted to stay, saying he would cause them trouble if he were to run away. Instead, he stayed to offer them help.

Edward could not persuade him to leave and could only call Alexander.

“Bring him over then.” Alexander sighed and added, “Be careful.”

“Yes, sir!” Edward hung up and looked over his shoulder at the man sitting in the backseat. The former shook his head. “I’ll bring you there. Sit tight.”
