Chapter 79: Reaping the Benefits under the Starry Sky
Chapter 79: Reaping the Benefits under the Starry Sky
After the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellif finished the matters with his apprentice, the Lord Padishah-Marshal Ardyn Tiberrius of the Eternal Imperium of the Asurya, both of them cut down the call as everyone had more than enough things and responsibilities to attend to.
Ardyn Tiberrius, as the Lord Padishah-Marshal, needed to take care of the entire Phoenix Nation, while the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir needed to talk with his disciple about some matters, especially about the rewards for these tasks during the invasion of the Greenskins and Mind Flayers.
Afterward, the elderly Asuryani Highborne planned to retreat back to his dojo and begin his recuperation treatment as he finally obtained what was needed to start the process. Hopefully, in the near future, he will be fully healed from the injuries and back to his previous strength of peak Keter-Class Beyonder.
When it was finally over, he could have his rest, as the past weeks were very busy as everyone was doing whatever they could to protect the Alaric Star Domain from the Greenskins and the Mind Flayers.
Fortunately, the lady luck was on their side at least partially, and when they were attacked by the Greenskins, it was rather only some weaker Warband led by a newly risen Warboss who wasn't even on the level of the Beyodners.
That was certainly a great plus; if the Orkish Warboss was already Beyondere, then it would be very different for the Imperial Defense Force, as the Orkish Beyonders, from a certain point of view, were even more problematic to deal with than even the Elder Brains of the Mind Flayers.
When the Orkish Beyonder was fighting on the battlefield, he could draw power from all Orks on the battlefield and their collective psychic consciousness to constantly enhance his power to a ridiculous degree.
They were the most annoying kind of enemies because they never got tired, they could regenerate a lot instantly from all injuries, and they could fight as long as long the battle itself lasted.
Even when the Orkish Beyonder was weaker than his opponent by several levels, they could still easily win if they could just tire their enemies out, and this was often cause for the Orks because they were very good at the strategy.
Not only that, but they were also empowered slightly by every single victory of the Boyz, and every death of Ork was fueling the Orkish Beoynder with Psychic Rage, which once again increased their power.
The cases when the Orkish Beyonders reached an even higher Class under the empowered state were not really that uncommon, even though they most often lost their mind due to the sheer amount of power and emotions that were flowing through them during the moment.
In the end, the Mind Flayers were only able to convince some newly risen Ork Warboss to lead his Warband into the depths of the Imperial Territory. Though Grandmaster Byrmellir knew, that was the limit of their persuan capilities, because the more powerful and older Ork Warbosses were also very, very cunning inidivduals.
They wouldn't be tricked into attacking the Imperial Space like some newly risen Ork Warboss because they knew the true terror of powerful High-Level Civilizations, so they would be rather cautious when dealing with them.
Especially the ones that were so militaristic, like the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, which was ruled by the military regime, and they were also warrior civilizations where personal and martial might was above everything.

Starfort Lycurgos, Rylon Star System, Alaric Star Domain
Several hours after the battle has ended, Arcturus ordered the Red Queen to fly back to the Starfort Lycurgos, which was undergoing rather extensive renovations after the fight with the Greenksins and Mind Flayers.
Though the renovations were nothing serious because it seemed that nothing of crucial importance was damaged during the invasion of the Greenskisn as some of the wayward Orks managed to find their way here, and during the space battle with the Mind Flayers, the Starfort took a lot of punishment.
When the Orks managed to land on the Starfort Lycurgos, they also managed to destroy everything that was in their path because... well, they were destructive species that thrived on the destruction, so they were doing what they were best in...
Smashing things apart.
Because most of the soldiery within the Starfort Lycurgos was protecting the strategic buildings and facilities of the Starfort, it took some time for the response force to get to the Greenskisn rampaging through the streets of the Starfort and kill them.
According to what Arcturus heard from the passing soldiers, even right now, some extermination teams were wandering through the lowest level of the Starfort and hunting the Gretchin that escaped from the confrontation, and some more lucky Greenskisn that were hiding in the depths of the mechanical corridors.
Aside from that, not many areas of the Starfort Lycurgos were that damaged and most of the Starfort was in relatively good shape. Part of their engines were totally destroyed, as they were overcharged when they were needed to support the shielding systems due to the mad barrage of the Mind Flayers.
After the battle had ended, he decided to go out and play scavenger for a few hours, because he there were a lot of valuable things floating in space, and it was rather good opportunity to harvest something before the Imperial Administration sent out collector ships.
The amount of space junk and wreckage that remained gloating in the Rylon Star System was staggering, and nothing would be left out there, as all things would be recycled by the Imperium to be re-used.
Another reason for the removal was that, the Imperial Star Systems were not landfills where everyone could go and dump everything they had. No, every single Imperial Star System had certain standards that ended up being upheld, the Rylon Star System not being the exception to the rules.
And by some sort of miracle, the Dojo of the Grandmaster Byrmellir was enocuted, as it seemed that there was nothing wrong with the place and it looked exactly the same as it looked before the battle.
Like it never happened before.
For that, Arcturus was glad because this was his home for the past months, this and the Obscurus, though if he had to admit, while Obscurus was providing him all luxuries that he could have needed, it was true that only here he felt like truly home.
When he entered the dojo, he quickly found out that Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir had already returned before him, probably during the time he was collecting the junk from the Mind Flayer ships that were orbiting within the Rylon Star System.
Still, Arcturus was rather satisfied because Red Queen managed to find some nice pieces of tech that could be sold for a lot of Universal Credits and some materials that she could use in her efforts to manufacture more and more drones and droids for his personal army.
Red Queen was already working on selling the things that were of no use to them and would use the money obtained from selling these things to buy Psionic Energy Crystals for Arcturus, who needed them to increase his Psionic Cultivation.
Not only that, but she was also searching for the method of how to most effectively enhance his physical capabilities and so on. Right now, he was already Delta-Grade Psyker, but still Epsilon-Grade Warrior.
Unfortunately, he needed to keep a perfect balance between his Paths because, without a sufficiently strong physique, he wouldn't be able to withstand the Dimension Empyrean and its overwhelming amount of Psionic Energy, less being said about the Empyrean Power that could be dangerous even to him if he was not careful.
So, having a powerful physique was paramount in this aspect.
His master often told him that the people that had awakened Super-High Risk Psyker Abilities and Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Abilities needed to have sufficiently strong physiques or else their very own bodies would crumble under the pressure of the very power they wielded.
One could even say that having such powerful Psyker Abilities was a two-sided axe.
On the one hand, one obtained an unnatural advantage over the other Psykers in the form of extremely overpowered Psyker Ability with very high potential, and on the other hand, there were a lot of restrictions and constraints, aside from many hidden shadows in the dark.
For Arcturus, this wasn't much of a problem because he loved fighting in the close quarter combat because it was very addictive to him. The first time he wielded the sword was something indescribable, and the moment when he overcame the first foe and slain him was delectable.
Sometimes, a small part of him wondered if he was mentally deranged even during the time of his first life or if this was just a trait that he built in the new life, but soon enough, these kinds of thoughts were forgotten as they were not really that important for him.
"Are you already finished collecting the junk from the space?"
Grandmaster Byrmellir asked as he saw his new apprentice returning to the dojo after he had most probably finished collecting the junk. From what he knew, his apprentice was rather money grubber obsessed with making money and hearing wealth.
He almost wanted to ask sometimes if he wasn't a space dragon in human disguise because, as far as he knew, only they were so obsessed with collecting riches and valuable objects all over and hoarding them in their caves or planets.
"Yes, and thank you... there were a lot of things left by the squids that were not destroyed in the battle. If everything goes smoothly, I should be richer by a few hundred thousand Universal Credits by the end of the week."
Arcturus said as he didn't take the jabs of his master seriously. It was always like this, as his master often teased him about his hobby of collecting and hoarding things.
"Now that you have finally arrived, we can talk about the important matters in the program."
Hearing that, Arcturus was rather excited as he was too aware of his contribution to the successful outcome and the victory of the Imperial Forces of the Phoenix Empire over the Mind Flayers by a large margin, and he also had some accomplishments against the Orkish WAAAGH!.
"Your contribution during the defense of the Alaric Star Domain is very high; that is indeed true, and the effort you put into keeping the Psion-Disruption Device safe has earned you a lot of contribution to the Empire.
I already talked with Lord Padshisah-Marshal of the Empire, and you will get a recommendation letter to the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy on the Planet Asurya in the Homeland very soon. I don't doubt that you will be able to complete the entrance examination with the highest score possible."
Grandmaster Byrmellir was then tasked with passing the rewards and information to his disciple, as he knew that his disciple wanted to attend the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy, something that he wholeheartedly supported.
He would be able to get some common sense in there, at the same time, he would be able to expand his connections with the most influential people within the Eternal Imperium of Asurya.
Not to mention, the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy could help Arcturus develop some basic Psionics skills, which was the area that Grandmaster Byrmellir didn't have much particular time to teach his disciples.
The Imperial Phoenix Military Academy could also supply him with resources that he needed for further cultivation. Because the Grandmaster Byrmellir would be soon enough entering seclusion to start healing his injuries, he could spend even entire years within the seclusion as he would be healing his crippling injuries.
Thus, he wouldn't be able to guide his disciple on everything, and they would see each other only when the Grandmaster finished healing his injuries... that was also something that he needed to tell his disciple because partially it was also Arcturus's merit.
Nobody could have predicted that Arcturus would go directly under the position of the Elder Brain, and the Elder Brain would be hit by the Anti-Psion Disruption Wave the hardest.
Initially, the Imperial HighCom predicted that the Anti-Psion Disruption Wave would hit the Elder Brain, and they also predicted that the Elder Brain would be severely weakened to the Euclid-Class Beyonder, but what they didn't predict that the Elder Brain would be virtually crippled by the Anti-Psion Disruption Wave.
Grandmaster Byrmellir knew that it was mainly because the Elder Brain was hit unprepared from extremely close distance and the first place that it made into contact with the Anti-Psion Disruption Wave, was the down body of the Elder Brain which was its weakest spot.
Unknowingly, Arcturus caused the Elder Brain to be weakened much more than the Imperial HighCom predicted, which was something that Grandmaster Byrmellir noticed immediately and decided to give his disciple some special reward for it.
"Also, after you arrive at the Planet Asurya, you will need to visit the Administration Department to get an official Citizen ID. I talked with the Lord Padishah-Marshal about your situation, so when you arrive at the Throne World, they will acknowledge your status as the Highborne Asuryani and bearer of the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker ability, which brings us to another topic."
