Xie He slowly loosened his grip on Liang Chengshan. The other had begun to suspect him. If Liang Chengshan found out Xie He remembered everything, he would not hesitate to lock him back up again and torment him. Therefore, the other must not find out....
Liang Chengshan’s hug calmed Xie He down. He was finally able to think rationally over how to use this situation to his advantage.
A long while later, Xie He slowly looked up, looking hurt and pained. “I’m really scared...there was so much blood...it was like...I saw something like that somewhere before....”
Liang Chengshan stared straight into Xie He’s eyes, “Where did you see it before?”
Xie He looked like he was thinking about it very hard. His whole body shook. After some time, he said, “I don’t remember. But I think I’ve seen something like that before...what...did he do. Why are you doing this to him?”
Liang Chengshan raised Xie He’s chin. There was no smile on his face. He said, “You’re lying to me.”
These words struck fear into Xie He’s heart. His face turned deathly pale and his legs went soft. He could only hug Liang Chengshan and speak with a trembling voice, “I-I....”
Liang Chengshan clearly said, “Who did you see that day at the restaurant?”
Xie He looked back at Liang Chengshan with fear in his eyes. A look of pain and hesitance appeared on his face soon after.
When Liang Chengshan saw the pain in Xie He’s face, his heart softened slightly...but he couldn’t let Xie He lie to him. Therefore, he said in an unquestionable tone, “Tell me who you saw that day.”
Xie He’s teeth clattered. He finally let out a weak voice. “That day...someone came looking for me....He said that you were my enemy, that he couldn’t let me marry you....”
Liang Chengshan’s eyes cooled down slightly, “And?”
Xie He shook his head with all his might. “And nothing. There’s nothing else....He didn’t have time to say anything else. He said that and then left. I didn’t believe him! I don’t believe him at all! Don’t leave me, please, don’t leave me....”
Liang Chengshan gazed into Xie He’s eyes, as if trying to read whether he was telling the truth or not.
Xie He hugged Liang Chengshan tightly, his gaze a bit out of focus. He kept going. “Don’t leave me, I’m sorry...I was too scared to tell you, I was scared you’d get angry. Don’t leave me...I’m so tired, I want to sleep....”
Liang Chengshan was silent for a while before sighing quietly. Finally, he picked Xie He up in a bridal carry and said, “Then sleep.”
Xie He fell asleep very quickly in Liang Chengshan’s arms. He hadn’t slept for three days so he slept for a very long time. When he woke up, he found himself in bed at home.
Xie He buried his face into Liang Chengshan’s chest. He could feel Liang Chengshan’s powerful arms wrapping around him. His embrace made him feel at peace. It washed away his fatigue.
But...this wasn’t what he wanted. This was Liang Chengshan using the cruellest means possible to control him. But Xie He couldn’t help it. It had been so clearly imprinted into his body and soul...it was so deeply engraved that even if he hated the other to the bone, his body still relied on him.
Xie He slowly opened his eyes, burrowing deeper into Liang Chengshan’s arms. He quietly said, “Don’t leave me....”
A hint of tenderness flashed through Liang Chengshan’s eyes. A long while later, he slowly said, “Weren’t you unwilling to see me?”
When Xie He heard this, he looked alarmed. “I’m sorry. I just...didn’t know how to face you. I did bad things to you in the past and there’s always people telling me that I had wanted to kill you. It was like that on the island and this time as well....I feel really sad...I don’t know what to do....
“I’m useless and a traitor. I don’t have any right to be with you&#k2026;.”
When Liang Chengshan recalled the matter with Liang Ze last time, his suspicion lessened. Perhaps Xie He had only been influenced by the words of the people around him. After all, he was so sensitive, weak and self-abasing. This was all Liang Chengshan’s fault&#k2026;. He had made Xie He like this. He shouldn’t be so harsh on the young man. It was already so difficult for him to bear all this pain on his own.
Liang Chengshan held Xie He and his tone softened. “No, it’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have doubted you. I was just worried about you....”
Xie He looked up at him, surprised and delighted. “Y-you don’t blame me?”
Liang Chengshan peered at him with love in his eyes. “How could I ever blame you?”
Xie He craned his neck up and kissed Liang Chengshan passionately. His eyes were full of love. “I love you. I really missed you. I missed you every moment, every second of every day....”
Liang Chengshan stroked Xie He’s neck gently. He could see the eagerness and yearning in the other’s eyes. He softly kissed him and then entered him.
Xie He held him tightly, as if wanting to use all his strength to meld into the other’s body.
..............................
Probably because they hadn’t done it in a few days, or perhaps it was because Xie He’s incessant soliciting had made him even more passionate, but Liang Chengshan did him more ruthlessly than usual. In the end, Xie He laid softly in Liang Chengshan’s arms, eyelashes stained with tears. His voice was hoarse. “Do you...really want to marry me? They all say that I’m no good....”
Liang Chengshan caressed him affectionately. He could read the apprehension and unease in Xie He’s eyes. He smiled at him dotingly, “Do my actions not put you at ease? Were you not willing to see me because you were peeved over this silly reason?”
Xie He nodded, embarrassed. He looked like he had been thinking very hard over something but finally got over it. He fell asleep again, looking relieved.
Liang Chengshan hugged Xie He. Xie He was not any less dependent on him. Perhaps he had been thinking too much. It was impossible for Xie He to recall his memories. He loved him so much.
Liang Chengshan placed a kiss on Xie He’s forehead, his eyes were filled with deep love.
Just forget everything...I will love you properly.
You don’t have to remember anything.
Xie He shut his eyes, his arms tightly wound around Liang Chengshan. He didn’t want Liang Chengshan to see the pain in his eyes. I will continue to act as a qualified pet for you. I’ll satisfy all your desires. I’ll pretend to really love you...I can do it....
Until I get my chance to kill you.
Xie He didn’t avoid Liang Chengshan anymore. He acted even more dependent on Liang Chengshan. Furthermore, even though he was still really afraid, he still wanted to go out with Liang Chengshan.
Liang Chengshan watched him helplessly. “I won’t abandon you.”
Xie He nodded meekly and looked at him with admiration. “I know but...I want to be with you.... I’ve tried being without you. I’ve tried being on my own, but I couldn’t do it. You said that you wouldn’t ever spurn me so don’t ever turn your back on me, okay?”
Liang Chengshan smiled. “I would never.”
Xie He couldn’t help but look happy.
From start to end, Xie He acted like he really loved Liang Chengshan. But actually, it couldn’t be said that it was all an act. His body and soul truly loved and relied on Liang Chengshan. Even if he had recalled his deeply-rooted hatred, depending on Liang Chengshan had become instinct. Only Liang Chengshan could bring him peace.
This was probably the most important factor as to why he was able to deceive Liang Chengshan.
He couldn’t leave Liang Chengshan. If he did, he would go crazy and fall apart. He wouldn’t be able to think normally. It was only when he was with Liang Chengshan that he could remain calm.
He enjoyed Liang Chengshan’s care and the physical pleasure while perpetually recalling his hatred for the other inside. He suffered twice the torment. But for the sake of his revenge...he had to endure it.
Xie He had about the same level of authority as Liang Chengshan, so he had clearance to go to a lot of places. Liang Chengshan also didn’t hide anything from him. Xie He thus acted like he really wanted to work hard and pull himself together. He enthusiastically participated in all of Liang Chengshan’s affairs. Slowly, he gathered evidence of the other’s crimes.
Time passed by very quickly. In a blink of an eye, the day of their wedding arrived.
Liang Chengshan had carefully made preparations for their wedding. The venue was the largest manor under Liang Chengshan’s name. Liang Chengshan had invited many guests to come witness their matrimony. It was the biggest show of respect he could give to Xie He.
Xie He watched all of this and detested it all. He wasn’t moved in the least. This man was the source of all his hatred. He had brought him so much pain and had ruthlessly destroyed everything.... And yet, he was pretending to love him, as if he actually wanted to spend his whole life with him...
The morning of the wedding, Liang Chengshan woke up early. He stared at the young man sleeping soundly in his arms, his gaze warm. Although Liang Chengshan had chosen to get married primarily because he had wanted to give Xie He the respect he deserved and help the other pull himself together, he actually yearned for this too.... He hadn’t known it before, but he too would also see a day where he longed to be bound to someone else in name....
He kissed Xie He on the forehead and gently said, “Wake up.”
Xie He’s eyelashes trembled and he slowly opened his eyes. He looked a bit drowsy, clearly not yet fully awake.
Liang Chengshan smiled dotingly. “It’s time to get up.”
Xie He made a sound of acknowledgement and smiled. He got out of bed. Liang Chengshan pulled out the wedding clothes he had prepared and helped Xie He dress. He helped him button every button and tied his tie.... He brushed Xie He’s bangs away and stared into his beautiful phoenix eyes.
Liang Chengshan couldn’t stop himself from kissing Xie He. His voice was full of love. “You’re so handsome.”
Xie He gazed back at him, admiration filling his eyes. “I love you.”
Liang Chengshan said, “I know.”
I also love you. I love you more than anything.
Today, there were many guests. The manor’s security check was very strict. Every guest that entered went through a very thorough check. They could not bring anything metal, let alone guns, into the manor.
Very quickly, things got lively. Most of the people who could come were well-respected people. They had good self-restraint. Even though they didn’t recognize Xie He, they still gave him their highest regards.
No one looked at him with disdain or questioned him.
Xie He stood with Liang Chengshan the whole time, accompanying him as he greeted the guests.
When it was time, Liang Chengshan pulled Xie He by the hand and walked over to the pastor. In his hand was the hand of the person he loved most. Although he had said ‘I love you’ many times before, he was willing to say it again before all these people. His love would never change.
Xie He looked at the man in front of him. The love in the man’s eyes seemed real, so real that for a second, a preposterous thought entered his mind. Did this person...really love him? Why? Why did he love someone that wanted to kill him...?
There was a ceramic knife hidden in Xie He’s sleeve. A guest had given it to him during all the chaos just now. After Xie He had regained his memories, he had been waiting for this moment—a moment when Liang Chengshan’s guard would be down and he could get his hand on a weapon.
Right now, this person was going to tell him that he loved him in front of all these people, vow to protect him and be with him for the rest of their lives....
This was the most ridiculous vow Xie He had ever heard in his life.
Because he absolutely could not share his life with this man....
They would both die here today.
Liang Chengshan held Xie He’s left hand and slowly but firmly slipped the ring onto his finger. He then kissed Xie He’s ring finger.
Xie He stared at Liang Chengshan. He reached out and took the ring that was meant for Liang Chengshan from the other’s best man. He held the ring, a sudden smile appearing on his face. He looked up at the other, an unprecedented shine in his eyes.
He let go of the ring, letting it fall to the ground. A knife appeared in his hand without any warning and he stabbed it straight into Liang Chengshan’s chest!
Liang Chengshan watched the ring fall to the ground....For a moment, he had a lapse in attention. A second later, he noticed the knife in his chest. He then looked at Xie He.
Xie He was still smiling at him. There was affection inside but also...hatred he’d never seen since Xie He had been let out! It was the hatred Liang Chengshan had forcibly controlled, the hatred he had spared nothing to destroy.... It had once again appeared in Xie He’s eyes....
Xie He didn’t stop. His hand was not as strong as it used to be. One stab would not kill Liang Chengshan. Therefore, he pulled his knife out and stabbed it back in again!
Liang Chengshan didn’t resist. He had forgotten to. There was only Xie He in his eyes.... From Xie He’s eyes came a dazzling light that intoxicated him. It had been a long time since he had seen that sharp, mesmerizing light from the other’s eyes....
Now, he finally got to see it again. But it was the moment the other killed him.
His beloved—he wanted to kill him.
He had done everything he could but he still couldn’t have him....
Liang Chengshan was left in a daze as Xie He stabbed him in the chest over and over again, until his bodyguards rushed over and lifted their guns. They restrained Xie He.
Liang Chengshan’s white suit was stained with blood and the entire venue was thrown into loud chaos. The beautiful wedding had become a ridiculous farce. Liang Chengshan’s body faltered and he finally fell to the ground.
He watched as his subordinates rushed over anxiously.... He really wanted to close his eyes but he couldn’t rest assured. If he didn’t say something right now, his subordinates wouldn’t let Xie He off. Xie He would die....
Liang Chengshan’s lips moved and he used the last of his strength to say, “Not allowed...to kill him....”
