Chapter 70: Chapter 70 Blaze Regret Vs Black Metal1
Although it was early morning, a thin mist lingered throughout the Black Forest. Looking up, the sunlight filtered through the canopy, significantly dimmed by the leaves.
"This forest is indeed strange."
Blaze Regret walked slowly with Red, the latter bouncing around like an excited rabbit, startling many small spirit beasts hiding in the bushes, causing them to flee in all directions.
"Keep up with us, don't fall behind."
Up ahead, Sky Nasrul suddenly turned around and shouted, his voice filled with impatience.
Ever since they entered the Black Forest, he hadn't shown Blaze Regret a friendly face. He thought, "Just an eighth level spirit novice, what are you doing here? Wouldn't it be better to stay at home?"
Shrugging helplessly, Blaze Regret didn't argue with Sky Nasrul. He continued to walk slowly, but his spiritual sense had already covered a radius of twenty meters, ready to detect any danger immediately.
"Something's wrong, there seems to be a big one ahead."
Sky Diana, who had been walking, suddenly stopped. She extended her hand, and a pale blue summoning array quickly appeared beside her. In an instant, a spinning wind vortex emerged, blowing away all the fallen leaves on the ground.
The wind vortex was about half the size of a person, with arms that rotated like a cold wind. In its upper part, one could vaguely see a pair of cold eyes.
"A high level ninth rank Wind Elemental?"
Blaze Regret's eyes flashed with surprise. Wind Elementals typically started at the mid level novice rank, and Sky Diana's Wind Elemental had clearly broken through its initial rank.
Seeing the surprise in Blaze Regret's eyes, Sky Nasrul's disdain grew even stronger. With a wave of his hand, a Wind Elemental with an aura no weaker than Sky Diana's also appeared.
"Rustle!"
At that moment, a giant tree ahead, indistinguishable from ordinary trees, suddenly shook its branches and leaves, rustling loudly. Its roots abruptly pulled out from the soil and squirmed wildly, charging towards the three of them.
"Whoosh!"
Before they could get closer, the giant tree suddenly shook violently. In an instant, several sharp wooden vines shot out from the ground where Blaze Regret and his companions stood, with some damp soil clinging to them.
"Don't get in our way!"
A low growl from Sky Nasrul made Blaze Regret pause. He then saw a wind vortex push him out of the way.
"Damn, this guy really thinks I'm a burden."
Blaze Regret smiled bitterly but didn't command Red to act. The giant tree, known as the Green Leaf Tree Demon, was merely a mid level ninth rank spirit beast and posed no significant threat.
"Wind Elemental, use Wind Blade to cut off its roots!"
Following Sky Nasrul's order, the Wind Elemental waved its transparent hand, and several wind blades materialized out of thin air. They shot out swiftly, slicing into the Green Leaf Tree Demon's roots.
"Slash!"
With almost no resistance, several of the Green Leaf Tree Demon's roots were severed. However, it reacted quickly, swinging its branch like arms to shatter the remaining wind blades.
As its attack was blocked, the Wind Elemental spun rapidly like a top and fiercely struck the Green Leaf Tree Demon's trunk, causing wood splinters to fly everywhere.
High level novice rank spirit skill, Whirling Wind Dance!
"Go and help it out."
Sky Diana's soft voice commanded, and the Wind Elemental in front of her shot forward instantly. With a flicker, it appeared behind the Green Leaf Tree Demon and collided heavily with it.
Under the combined assault of the two Wind Elementals, the Green Leaf Tree Demon's body creaked and was pierced through. The light in its hollow eyes faded, and it crashed to the ground with a resounding thud.
In that moment, a wave of dust and debris swept across dozens of meters.
"Good thing you didn't mess things up, otherwise we'd have to waste time saving you."
Sky Nasrul collected the spirit core brought by the Wind Elemental into his Void Realms stone and gave Blaze Regret a look that said "you know what's good for you." He then took out another wind element spirit core and fed it to the Wind Elemental.
"I don't need your rescue."
Sky Diana sighed helplessly. Her brother was usually kind to people, but today he seemed to be in a strange mood, constantly picking on Blaze Regret.
"Let's keep moving."
Blaze Regret smiled inwardly. This little guy was quite amusing. Pushing him out of the battlefield right away was indeed a protective gesture, but his words were a bit too harsh.
They were soon attacked by a few more spirit beasts, but none were particularly strong. The strongest among them was merely a mid level eighth rank novice, and the Wind Elemental easily tore it to pieces.
"Wait!" Suddenly, Blaze Regret's eyes sharpened. "Something's off ahead."
"Hmm?"
Sky Diana furrowed her brows slightly and extended her spiritual sense. Her eyes blinked in confusion. "I can't sense anything."
"There is definitely something there. We can't go any further; it's better to detour around it!" Blaze Regret insisted firmly.
He was indeed an eighth rank spirit disciple, but his spiritual power was not comparable to that of Sky Diana and Sky Nasrul, who were both ninth rank spirit novice. From his perception, there was a large group of entities ahead in the forest that could pose a lethal threat to them.
"Seriously? Are all Blaze family members this cowardly? Your courage is really lacking!"
Sky Nasrul said with exasperation, "Besides, don't you think I can judge if there's danger or not? Do I need an eighth rank spirit novice like you to remind me?"
After speaking, Sky Nasrul strutted forward, leading the Wind Elemental with him.
"How about we take a detour?" Sky Diana hesitated for a moment but ultimately agreed with Blaze Regret's suggestion.
"No need!"
Sky Nasrul carelessly pushed aside the branches in front of him. However, in the next moment, his nonchalant expression turned into one of terror as a deafening, soul stirring buzzing sound filled his ears!
"Bloodthirsty Bees?"
As Sky Nasrul's panicked voice echoed, Blaze Regret's expression also became much more serious.
