Chapter 134: Ciel is happy?

[Ciel's POV: ]

Brisbain- 16 points.

Elitwiq- 4 points.

Emangeline- 4 points

Ranghaur- 4 points

Seven questions have passed and still, our team has scored only one question until now. Other than four teams the other two didn't even try to participate and were just spectating the match like the audience.

However, that was not something I was concerned about.

'Our school is losing its prestige. And all this because of me...!'

I have failed myself and the promise I had made to my father. The blood on my palm has long dried but the agitation and self-loathing remained. I thought I was knowledgeable enough to represent my academy yet now in front of true competition, I was no better than a blockhead.

Arata and Kevin just like me were silent since the start and by now, they also had some severeness on their faces signifying how the snickers and chuckles from the audience were affecting them.

Pristine Academy has never performed this badly and here we are, sitting like losers.

There were only five questions remaining and to surpass the top-ranked team we need to answer each one of the upcoming questions.

It was an impossible venture and I knew there was no route to victory. The questions after the first half were more complicated than the initial six. Someone like me was not suitable for this round at all.

'Only if President... 'I generally don't like relying on others but right now, I dearly wished President Seth could have been here so we might have not lost this round so badly.

Alas, no plea of mine would work as I saw the announcer moving to the next query as she switched the cards in her hand to read out the question.

"The eighth question would be related to the strongest first hero, Lady Sahna Ranghaur. " I perked my ears since this was something related to my homeland's history. However, the enthusiasm soon died down as I heard the announcer continuing.

"The twin-headed spear she used, was made of an alloy that could no longer be found since it was unique to that single existence. No craftsman or blacksmith forged her weapon yet it accompanied the legendary hero for her small yet memorable life. What kind of alloy does the mythical weapon comprised of? "

That was something probably no one knew including me since knowledge related to the First of the Heroes was scarce. There were tales of their battles and how they helped humanity to rebuild but their personal life and weapons was unheard of.

For a moment upon witnessing the perplexed looks from the other teams, I wondered whether the question was valid or not since even the top scorers were pondering and discussing whether they should answer and take their chances.

Despite belonging to Ranghaur I myself had no answer to the question, and with this, the chances of winning this round diminished as well...

...or so I thought.

**TING**

"Uh... "

I suddenly jerked in my seat as I found the gong in front of me ringing signifying that someone from my team knows the answer. I turned my head to see which one of the two idiots wanted to get our score subtracted. However, when my eyes landed on the person standing beside me, I felt flowers blooming in the background.

Suddenly violins began to play and as spring bloomed right at this instance, I smiled at President Seth in glee

"There was no alloy used in her weapon since the tool The legendary hero Sahna Ranghaur used was an extension of her soul which let her form any kind of weapon until she had a clear image in her mind. To prove my words, there is a phrase in a rhyme book, 'Either axe or sword, she wielded them like a God. Nothing could be left to slay when she brings her spear into play. ' The creator of this rhyme is an unknown entity who is suspected to be an ancient witch. Other than that, it has also been mentioned in the book of 'Battle of the Legends' how Sahna Ranghaur was the only one who held the most versatility since she was trained all her life until the apocalypse ensued and she once also lent her weapon to her comrade who was a long-range archer. It was also the reason that despite being attempted quite many times, no one was able to steal her weapon, as until she didn't wish, no one could touch her battle partner. The spear was just her favorite weapon since it was like a tribute to her master, which I guess we all know. So my final answer, is Sahna Ranghaur never had a weapon made of an alloy since all those times she used her skill to negate any danger in her path."

Utter silence.

The crowd, the announcer, all the other team, and even ours, were all too silent as President's answer drew to its conclusion. I only watched him in astonishment as he spoke in all seriousness, voicing each of his words with clear and appropriate pronunciation.

I don't know if his answer was right but if for the way of his speech, I may have granted six points, hands down.

However, it was not something I could decide whether the point table would shift or not, rather the announcer, who still was silent.

The tension rose as everyone eagerly waited to hear the results. Unlike before, no one was snickering in our direction rather they watched the announcer in extreme suspense and curiosity.

What felt like a year or so passed the lady on the stage finally smiled and said those beautiful words, pleasing to the ears.

"Five points to Pristine Academy. "

A round of applause resonated from the audience as the points were added to our team. I couldn't help but clap in appreciation as well, with my lips arched in a full-blooming smile.

At the time of crisis, President Seth came to the rescue. This was nothing new but today, I felt absolutely touched by his timely appearance.

However, my mood soon worsened as I heard someone from the Savant Academy speaking in an annoyingly shrill voice.

"Excuse me, lady judge, but participating in the quiz out of nowhere and answering the question without any notice of arrival....isn't it too disrespectful toward those who are present in this contest since the start? "

I glared at the blond guy sitting across us in the participant bracket but he smugly held his posture and continued to look at the announcer.

I glanced at President and saw him comfortably standing at a side without a strand of worry over his brows.

I was about to stand up and give him the seat when an announcement made me plop down.

"Four points deducts from Savant Academy for breaking the decorum and conduct of the contest. Please refrain from speaking needlessly from now. "
