Chapter 65: Let me bribe you, President~
“You have been here for a while?”
There was an evident surprise hidden behind his glasses which Seth tried to mask but Anabelle could never miss such an adorable sight.
Anabelle was barely holding herself from jumping on him and hugging him until her heart didn't get enough fuel.
“Yep. I was around the mansion after you were brought from the temple. Then I went home to check on my mother and took care of some matters before I returned to you.”
Seth fixed his glasses to not show his bafflement since he never noticed Anabelle in the mansion before today. And today was an exception, just because she chose to show herself.
‘Have I been laid back a lot after that incident or this woman is that dangerous…’
Seth had a pretty serious topic to contemplate about but now he wanted some rest and with this heroine in his room, it was practically impossible.
“Now as you can see, I am fine so it's better you rush back home. Stay for the night in the guest room then head back to your hometown early tomorrow morning. For the services you have provided, I would make sure to have you compensated handsomely.” He intentionally focused on the room he was allowing her to stay in since Seth was no longer capable of guessing this weird girl’s next move.
Anabelle innocently tipped her head to the right but from her demeanor, it didn’t seem she was anywhere near to leaving him alone.
However, when she got up from his bed, a glimmer of hope shone in Seth's eyes only to diminish when she paused just some inches apart from him.
Her fragrance…was unhealthy for him, but Seth wouldn’t get addicted to it. That much he was sure of. The same goes for her supple body which seemed incredibly delicate in his hold. No wonder she was the main female lead.
“And what if I bribe, Young master.”
Ignoring tha last part, Seth frowned upon hearing such a proposal which not only betrayed her image but also seemed ridiculous from a general perspective.
However strong, she was still a commoner. In order to convince him, what could she even provide?
But before he could have given her piece of his mind, Anabelle continued, “I know the person who pushed you inside the vault~”
There was a suppressed blood lust in her voice but Seth was in no clear mind to notice her tone at the moment.
This time he didn’t even try to hide his emotions as with a severe frown Seth growled under his breath.
“Tell me the name.”
Anabelle felt her heart racing and somewhere it felt wet as well as she heard the domineering voice of the man she loves.
But she didn’t want to make him wait for long either so with a thin contended she responded not so long after.
“Well, I didn’t ask his name but…”
As she said she moved her hand which disappeared in thin air, signifying how independently she uses her spatial storage. But what caught Seth’s undivided focus was the thing that Anabelle pulled out of her storage.
“.....I got his head~”
—----------------------------------------------
It was nearly one in the night when Serena reached her home from the Albeck duchy through a teleportation portal. It was the distance between the Church where portal centers are situated and her mansion which majorly took the time.
The escorts from either end ensured her safety and escorted her back to the mansion.
Since it was late at night her mother didn’t ask anything related to the celebration, despite the older woman being quite eager to hear about it, before the princess went back to her room only after she took a relaxing warm bath.
She always feels uncomfortable without washing herself before falling onto the bed…
‘Ah, it was a long day…’
With a sigh, Serena hugged the soft pillow as she closed her eyes to try and get some rest. But suddenly…
“Take care…”
Serena shot her eyes in astonishment as she heard Seth’s voice echoing in her mind so vividly that she had to make sure whether she was alone in the room.
But it was just her imagination…
‘But why am I…’
There was a tinge of blush adorning her supple cheeks which even Serena didn’t notice. More like her attention was now more focused on the dance she shared some hours ago.
It was an unforgettable memory for her.
There were several phrases for Serena where she saw Seth with different perceptiveness.
At the start of the school year, she was scared of him because of his personality and authority. After that night when he refused to sleep with her, Serena started doubting his true nature. He became a mystery for her.
Then came her curiosity when he didn’t punish Arata despite the latter partook in such a grave sin of attacking the President for o definite reason.
She was amazed and relieved that it was Arata who took the damage, not the other party.
But the image of the stoic President who has an extreme tendency to keep everyone disciplined around him, faded albeit not entirely when she spent time with him in the vault.
The way he always scolded her away from the fight was in order to keep her alive despite naming otherwise. How he never let the wolf attack her paralyzed body and also when the Minotaur attacked, he distracted it away from her.
How could she pretend not to notice his true intentions which were focused on Serena’s safety?
And that warmth…
When she woke up at an indefinite time and found her near-naked body pressed against his bare chest, she just got lost in that moment. His intoxicating manly scent made her dizzy yet the warmth was so enticing that Serena herself snuggled even closer and clung to him without leaving a speck between them…
“Ahhhh! What am I even thinking…”
Serena was slightly feeling bad for Arata as well since she knew how much her childhood friend hates the President.
The way he came to ask about her health after she returned from the vault was still fresh in her mind but what ticked her off was Arata’s knowledge about Vault’s reward.
‘Come to think of it…I have never seen him so anxious about anything before…’
She remembered the look in her friend’s eyes when he desperately asked more than once about the vault and whether Serena got anything from it.
Serena might have been feeling guilty for lying to her childhood friend but she knew once she told him that she was intending to hand over the reward to the President, Arata would try to stop her.
And she did not want to fight Arata for this.
He is indeed one of the closest people in her life but she owes more than her life to Seth.
There might be bitterness between Arata and Seth but she now knows that the President of the Student Council and the firstborn of Duchess Valarie isn’t just a strict personality.
But a very caring man.

A/N: It took me a lot of time to write Serena's POv since there was a lot I have to omit and add in order to bring out the best parts.
