Chapter 399
Chapter 399
399 A change that lies dormant
[What happened? Where are Wolfie and Freerie? Why does the patch of crystal grass look like a field now? Why is there another cube with two small green eggs on top of it beside the Soul Dimensional Storage chest?]
Previously, Kazumi had fainted a bit after Vincent. She was full of questions about the change she was seeing in front of her eyes. Whatever happened, Vincent’s Soul Domain changed with both soul pets as well.
“Vincent!” Ester, Lupa, Iris, Lilith, and Plow shouted with tears of joy.
Vincent looked at his body, but he wasn’t hurt, nor did his body feel any different. However, he wanted to be sure the small amount of mutated yellow blood his body assimilated didn’t cause an unredeemable condition.

Vincent looked at his skills as well, but nothing was different or out of the ordinary. Nothing else changed besides his Soul Domain and Wolfie and Freerie becoming eggs.
Soon, one after the other, the four worrying women explained what happened during the time Vincent was unconscious, and Kazumi never contacted them like usual.
The first thing they did was place Vincent in their bedroom and let Iris promptly check his condition while blocking both entrances not to let his hero mark be seen. Fortunately, his condition wasn’t concerning because any superficial wounds were healed by Biro and Ton’s multiple Minor Heals they cast on him.
While Vincent was in Iris’s care in the bedroom alone, Nick explained what happened to Ester, Lupa, and Lilith. Vivid was beside Nick while Pussy quickly approached after she overheard the commotion.
Later, Maria visited the island and notified how Vincent was allowed to miss classes until he got better. Vincent was going to be given one free set of uniform, and if he felt traumatized after the incident, Vincent would have free consultation sessions with the academy’s psychiatrist.
Maira was about to leave after saying how team ten was allowed to skip her class for the day when she remembered to give her reply about the part-time job Vincent wanted to hire her for.
Maria agreed to visit most of the time in the coming next five months. However, the sixth month was going to be difficult.
All the noble academies will participate in a friendly collaborative annual competition in the dwarven kingdom. It will be held in February, which will be in the last month of the academic year.
Maria is Class A’s homeroom teacher. If one of the ten teams in Class A became the best-rated team out of all the first year, she would need to travel with them as their representative.
Other than this, nothing noteworthy happened after Maria left. Nick and Clair asked about Vincent’s condition from time to time.
It wasn’t too Long ago that Lupa heard Vincent’s breathing change. After sleeping beside him for so long, she informed Ester, Iris, and Lilith how he was about to wake up soon. This is the reason why they and Plow waited for his eyes to open.
“Thank you for staying by my side.” Vincent thanked them with a warm smile. He was happy to open his eyes and see himself surrounded by his family.
As if after Vincent woke up, this was a sentence each of them waited to hear, the four women jumped on him. Even Plow swiftly cuddled with his face.

“I... I...” *Gasp* “Mercy...” Vincent couldn’t breathe.
Ester, Lupa, and Iris’s added weight wasn’t too problematic for someone like Vincent with his current strength. However, there was also Lilith. She was so happy and relieved that she couldn’t help by jumping after watching the others jump, which she soon regretted.
In the end, Vincent is about to be killed by his wives by mistake.
Lilith blushed like a bulb. She rushed out of bed and ran away while covering her face.
Vincent felt strange after he didn’t hear Kazumi joke. It appeared she was too worried about what happened to tease. He hoped Wolfie and Freerie would return soon.
“I lost control again... let me say what happened. ” Vincent said. Later, he told them what happened from his perspective.
It was late at night when Vincent finished the story. Iris and Lupa went to bring Lilith back while Ester informed Nick and Clair how Vincent woke up and they could see him tomorrow.
*Day 87 – 04 September – Thursday*
The next day arrived. Vincent woke up like usual as if nothing happened yesterday.
Vincent asked Kazumi to invite him to his soul domain. When his eyes opened, the first thing he saw was a vast field of emerald crystals instead of a small patch and he was standing on them. Like before, the crystals bent like grass when touched.
Vincent approached the block in the middle. There he saw two eggs, but no matter how much strength he used, the eggs remained stuck.
However, when he tried to use Soul Dimensional Storage on the eggs, it gave a warning that he couldn’t store living beings. A smile soon appeared instead of his frown. Kazumi was also delighted to see the message.
After talking for a few minutes with Kazumi, Vincent caressed her round wisp body left the soul domain.
Vincent left the mansion and ran a lap with Lupa before Nick and Vivid joined them. Nick worryingly asked how Vincent was feeling and later ran a few laps around the mansion together.
The time for the morning class to begin was soon. Vincent and Nick arrived and went near their classmates. Nick was glared at while Vincent was glanced at with a mocking expression after using a cheap and poorly made defective scroll.
Biro, Ton, and Ollie were surprised to see Vincent as if nothing had happened to him.
“Looks like you don’t want to miss a day, hahaha.” Biro laughed while smacking Vincent’s back.
The classmates became jealous of how Vincent was being treated. Biro never showed a hint of a smile when they tried their hardest to impress the Duke, yet Vincent not only brought a smile, but he even made him laugh.
The Hawkins family was famous because whenever someone caught their eye, it meant that person had a great potential to become a Paladin.
There are less than one hundred Plaidins in the Lusterfall Kingdom, and only a Royal Guard directly in charge of protecting the princess was a Divine Paladin. More than half of them had a few lessons from the Hawkins family to help them awaken.
Ollie was the next person to receive from a member of the Hawkins training to join their ranks as a Paladin. The students looked favorably at Ollie, and he secretly became the idol of many.
“Students. We will continue yesterday’s training.” Ton pointed at the caged horned rabbits and continued, “We have examined all of the rabbits. They aren’t going to awaken anytime soon and cause another unplanned incident.”
Ton and Ollie asked how Vincent was feeling. After hearing a good response, the two of them began putting the ribbits in place.
In the meantime, Biro watched all the students walking around the track with the various proficiency levels of Energy Flow. It appeared Biro was learning to give appropriate exercises at last.
Later, Biro taught Vincent alone while Ton and Ollie kept an eye on the students trying their best to scare the rabid horned rabbits as the dangerous little critters tried to impale the students.
Hours later, the lesson was over.
Vincent dropped to the ground while heavily breathing after spending an entire lesson of CQC foundation moves. Additionally, he had to control using Energy Flow while doing CQC whenever Biro ordered to improve control.
Vincent had to stand in a fighting form with his knees slightly bent and his arms raised shoulder high. He switched sides every thirty minutes while also switching from a left-right jab combo to a right-left jab combo.
Biro was secretly happy Vincent could keep up with his instructions. He believed that Vincent might be able to grasp the fundamentals of Force Shock soon at this rate.
Biro still wondered what Vincent did when he shouted Shatter. However, Biro deemed that Vincent’s current control isn’t enough to use Force Shock at about half of the lesson.
The morning class was over. Vincent and Nick went to wait for Lilith and Clair. Later, they went to Maria’s lesson together, but while they were on the way, Clair stuck to Lilith like a piece of gum. She secretly peeked at the infamous Nick while keeping her distance.
A surprising thing happened in Maria’s lesson on this day. Maria was acting differently than usual because she decided to pick two students, check their meditation, and point out a few mistakes.
Maria was acting like a teacher all of a sudden. However, Kazumi guessed that Maria was using the attending students to experiment on how to teach since she had to visit the island after the lesson ended.
If Kazumi’s guess was correct, then Maria might have taught a handful of lessons in her life.
The two classmates Maria picked were Melissa and another classmate with a bad meditation form.
Maria pointed out the classmate with the bad form’s mistakes by using Melissa to reference a good form and mana flow while meditating.
