Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 586

Chapter 586

586 You will offer me a ride home, willingly or not

Vincent smiled at Jun Ye Rim and Plow. He looked at his wives and saw them nodding at him with a reassuring smile. With the reassurance of his wives and the blind trust he has in them, Vincent prepared to leave.

Vincent summoned three minor healing potions, four minor stamina potions, and three minor regen potions. “Drink these to help your body recover.” He told the female lizardman.

Lilith understood what Vincent was trying to do. Unlike the Minor Heal spell, healing potions do not drain as much stamina as healing spells, yet the potions are also not as effective either.

Unfortunately, scrolls worked similarly to spells, so the healing scroll Vincent has would make the weak female lizardman weaker. Thus it would prove fatal during childbirth for the weak pregnant woman without too much vitality left in her.

Lilith shone brightly, and a halo appeared on her head. Behind her back appeared six rays of light acting similarly to wings. It made the slaves stare at Lilith while believing she was the mortal vessel of a goddess.

“Don’t worry. I will bless you.” Lilith said these morale-boosting words before she began chanting a minor regen spell empowered by the Divine Blessing trait. Calling it a blessing gave more hope than calling it an enhanced version of minor regen.

After Lilith finished casting a minor regen buff on the female lizardman, the holy aura around Lilith faded, and she returned to normal. Yet the slaves remained to look at Lilith as if she was a godly majestic being.

“Do you feel better?” Asked Lilith warmly.

The female lizardman snapped out of her daze. After meeting Vincent in his Soul Domain, the female lizardman could react a little less astonished to meet another incredible person.

.....

“Yes, goddess. I feel better.” She answered while respectfully lowering her head.

The male lizardman couldn’t speak, so he respectfully lowered his head as well. Then he opened the potions and started feeding them to the female lizardman one after the other.

[Sigh. We could have given her more potions, but we do not know if drinking a lot of potions could negatively affect the child.]

[Still, I am worried we gave her too many potions at once.]

Vincent looked at the female lizardman’s status window. He sighed in relief because, fortunately, she didn’t have a negative condition caused by the potions.

Iris wanted to help too. Even if the only processed herbs on her were to cure minor sickness and help with making lost blood recover slightly faster, Iris took out a small stem with small white pedals on it.

Iris approached the female lizardman and said, “Please chew on this. It has a cool taste, and it can provide a little energy boost. But because it is unprocessed, its effects will only last for a short time.”

The male lizardman respectfully lowered his head and accepted the herb. He placed it in the female lizardman’s mouth. As she started chewing, a faint smile appeared on her face.

The female lizardman appeared to like the taste, yet her expression also gave the impression of thinking happy and positive thoughts. She looked thankful for suddenly receiving so much help. She was a slave who suffered from being locked up for five years after all.

Vincent felt reassured the female lizardman was doing better with the potions, Lilith’s blessing, and Iris’s herb. He approached his wives and said, “Here are eight minor regen potions. Give them two each. Also, here are four healing potions and four stamina potions. Give one each.”

After Vincent handed out the potions to Iris and Lilith to give them to the four slaves, he explained, “The mermaid and the deer woman are suffering from a deadly and infectious lustful disease. Can the two of you try to ease their suffering with your spells and herbs?”

Lilith and Iris looked at the two slaves with worried expressions. They looked at Vincent and said with a determined gaze, “Leave it to us.”

“Everything is arranged then. I better depart before the important time is upon us.” Vincent said before using Overheat and later covering his gauntlets with a layer of protective mana.

Vincent approached the female lizardman and extended his hands. “Hold tight because it is going to get rough, but even if I hurt my ankles and my arms, I will cushion your body every step I take to reduce the shaking. ” He said while gently lifting the female lizardman.

Vincent turned around and rushed out of the street with incredible speed. However, he noticed there was a problem with his increased perception. The female lizardman was suffering from the gust of wind and the momentum of his speed.

Vincent stopped promptly. “Is it uncomfortable?” He asked with a rough voice.

“I can take it.” She bravely answered.

[Vincent, I think we got trouble. The street is empty, yet there are soldiers approaching on their horses. Behind them is a carriage without a noble emblem on it. But it is approaching us for some reason as well.]

Kazumi left Vincent’s body and continued [I will bring the others and scout our surroundings to be safe.]

Vincent turned his gaze and saw a group of eight soldiers with the Blackheart emblem on their armors approaching on their horses. Behind them were a carriage and a coachman with his head covered by a hood.

“What are you doing in broad daylight? The slave you are holding appears to be illegal and mistreated. It is a criminal offense, and you need to come with us.” The leader of the soldiers said.

Vincent looked at the soldier and scoffed with a rough voice, “Huh? Blackheart family-sponsored soldiers are in front of me. Ironically, I am being accused of criminal activity when the shady carriage without a noble emblem is behind you. Even a child can tell this reak of criminal activity.”

“Silence, criminal! Your voice sounds like that of a monster. Do you think anyone will trust you?” A soldier from behind said.

“Criminal? Are you blind? Can’t you see I am wearing the academy uniform? In fact, I am not only allowed to leave the academy every Sunday but every other day. That is the noble standing in front of you.” Vincent said in an authoritative yet intimidating raspy voice.

Vincent noticed the eight soldiers weren’t acting hostile enough to start a fight. Vincent carefully lowered the female lizardman to her feet and stopped using Overheat.

Vincent took out his golden identification card and showed it to the soldiers with a prideful smirk. Their eyes almost popped out at the sight of the golden-colored card.

“I am Baron Vincent Lionheart. This golden identification card is enough to prove how my high noble standing is.” Vincent looked at the parked carriage and the coachman. “We only need to be escorted to my property. Can’t the carriage take a short detour from where ever the destination was?”

Vincent coldly gazed at the soldiers and coachman, emitting murderous intent for a second. “Lest you people want to be on the wrong side and suffer. Nobles like to cut their tails, after all. If you know what I mean, right?” He threatened.

The soldiers and coachman paused for a moment to digest Vincent’s words. During that time, Ester, and Lupa carrying the mermaid on her back, came running.

Behind them were Iris, Lilith, Jun Ye Rim, and the slaves walking at a slow pace.

Kazumi returned and entered Vincent’s body.

[I checked our surroundings, and it is safe. I bet these soldiers were passing this street because it is empty. When I looked around, the nearest street with people was between four to five streets away.]

[Thinking about it, I can’t believe we were walking into a shady place in the noble district. No wonder people say hiding in plain sight is the best choice.]

“Vincent. What’s wrong?” Asked Ester with her fists clenched.

“My mate, I came to help.” Said Lupa with an excited grin.

“So you have maids and more slaves... Regardless, after confirming your lordship is a Baron, I have a question to ask. Why is your lordship in possession of multiple illegal mistreated slaves?” The leader soldier asked with a more respectful tone.

“Leader! We need to arrest them! We can’t let them threaten us any longer. Our sponsor will not remove us, as he said.” A soldier from the back arrogantly said.

Vincent frowned. The leader looked smart, and he appeared to be a person who could be persuaded, but the soldiers behind him acted arrogant. In their eyes was only one thing, greed. They wanted to gain fame and increase the favor given to them by their sponsor.

“Arrest me? You pathetic commoner sponsored by the most criminal family in the kingdom! I am Baron Vincent Lionheart. I bought these mistreated slaves legally, and I have the documents to prove my statement.” Vincent loudly said with an authoritative voice after considering the eight soldiers would not capture the slave trader if Vincent told them the location of their hideout.

Vincent glared at the soldiers acting arrogant, and continued, “Do you think your sponsor will give a damn to what happens to you? Obey my request and be on your way to do shady criminal things.”

“Why you...”

“I will turn a blind eye if my order is obeyed, but if you all decline.” Vincent interrupted. He moved his head and looked at Ester, Lupa, Iris, and Lilith. He winked at them as if to signal all was under control.

Vincent looked back at the soldiers before continuing with a menacing grin, “We will have to beat the living daylight out of you. Later, I tell my connections and a Captian Russo, the man who the Lionheart family sponsors, to send what remains of you to prison for attacking a Baron and his family.”
