Chapter 719 - 719 Shredding Wind
Chapter 719 - 719 Shredding Wind
719 Shredding Wind
*Boom!* The head of the snow wolf severed in half suddenly exploded, and a warm gust of will spread along yellow blood.
*Tap* Ester fell to the ground elegantly. Her body was covered with a layer of wind and yellow blood, spiraling down until reaching the ground.
Ester moved her head and saw the five royal soldiers staring at her. She wondered what they were looking at her so shocked for. She didn’t feel injured, and the combination of wind sigil tattoos and earth sigils protected her clothes from damage or stains.
Ester noticed Lupa had reached her current limit. Her eyes weren’t shining anymore. Primal Insight was inactive.
Lupa closed her eyes and jumped a meter in the air. *Chomp* A pair of jaws missed Lupa by a hair.
Lupa contorted her body and curled her fingers. She swung her arms and spun her body. As her body descended, her swift swing claws, powered by the momentum of her spinning body, became faster and sharper.
Lupa reached the great snow wolf’s back. It was covered in protruding pointy ice like a porcupine. The closer the claws approached, the more each and every one of the protruding ice extended as if they were about to shoot.
The claws and the ice soon met and the claws won the fight. The claws ripped the ice as if the ice was made of paper, allowing Lupa’s body to keep descending and the claws to keep approaching the back.
*Slash. Slash. Slash.* Lupa’s claws lacerated the great snow wolf’s back multiple times. The moment her foot touched a steady surface, she jumped backward.
.....
Ester felt a force of wind accumulating behind her. Her head worryingly moved, and her eyes caught a glimpse of four condensed projectiles made from the wind approaching her.
Four powerful currents of wind passed by Ester, passed by the snow wolf in front of her, and passed by the fived royal soldiers.
Lupa was about to land on her feet when the sound of the wind distracted her. She opened her eyes and saw the great snow wolf in front of her eyes get mutilated in the blink of an eye.
Lupa fell on her bottom after losing her balance. She moved her gaze and saw ice shards coming her way. Her eyes shone golden, and her arms moved swiftly to shred each and every projectile.
The royal soldiers quickly arrived in front of Lupa and blocked the projectiles for her.
It made Lupa infuriated at her weak body because she could fight at her maximum potential for a short duration.
The two remaining great snow wolves were attacked by the wind arrows. One after the other landed on their bodies. They didn’t show any expression of pain. Instead, they acted like before. As if their body wasn’t theirs.
The wolf shooting at the royal soldiers, and Lupa received wounds on its leg. It lost its balance and moved its head away. The ice shards shooting from its mouth followed the direction of the head, allowing the royal soldiers to stop blocking and allow for a swift offense.
The second wolf wasn’t attacking at the moment. It quickly covered its body with ice protruding from its body as if the ice ripping out from its body and leaving wounds didn’t hurt.
The ice protected the second snow wolf from the wind arrows. Its head raised to look up the moment it perceived a mysterious and abundant amount of wind gathering up in the air.
Ester was in the air spinning her body with her arms raised. The audience looking at Ester thought she was dancing in the air mysteriously. Only the five royal mages thought otherwise.
They could perceive a lot of wind was gathering around her as she spun in the air. The air was like a thread, and Ester was like the object the thread wraps around.
The leading royal mage looked at Lilith. “What is she? I can see sigils under her feet, yet she is continuously using spell after the other while remaining alive.” He questioned.
“The thought in your mind is correct. That means I hope you can keep what happens here a secret until the judgment by combat starts. As a participant, Ester’s class will be revealed to the world, and her name will become the next big thing.”
The royal mage saw Iris nod and Jun Ye Rim frown at him. He understood the situation and chose to later order the soldiers to keep what was happening a secret.
The wind gathered around Ester and condensed into visible waves.
Ester swung her arms down and contorted her body to bend and flip vertically as if she was moving in the water. She kicked in the air. But nothing happened.
Ester flipped vertically for the second time. While this was happening, the wind quickly gathered around her leg like a magnet.
The more her leg glowed, the more condensed the wind became. The moment Ester swung her leg, a blade arc of condensed wind formed.
All the wind she gathered followed the blade of wind as it headed toward the wolf. The wind following the blade was being consumed to increase the time it took to leak its power and reduce in size.
The soldiers looking at Ester became mesmerized. They saw Ester move her arms as if she fluttered a pair of wings before moving in the air freely and sending out an elemental attack that far surpassed their imagination.
On the other hand, the four royal mages became more shocked than captivated. They glanced at Lilith and Iris. Both women were looking at Ester with a smile on their faces.
After recalling what Lilith mentioned and how their thoughts about Ester were mostly true, they returned their gaze to Ester and murmured, “Is that the real power of a Sigil mage?”
The wolf opened its jaws, and the temperature lowered drastically. From the darkness of the throat, numerous ice shards were shot toward Ester.
However, this action was all for naught. The wind sliced the ice as if the ice had no physical body. It kept moving while barely losing its power.
The blade of wind quickly reached the snow wolf and severed its head cleanly. *Thud* The large wolf’s head fell to the ground, yet the body didn’t fall. It remained standing even after its death.
*Thud* A great snow wolf fell, but it wasn’t Ester’s current opponent. It was the snow wolf the five royal soldiers took down.
“Watch out!” Shouted Lupa.
The royal soldiers put on their guard, yet they didn’t know against what they needed to watch out for. All the great snow wolves were supposed to be dead now. No one can survive without a head.
To their shock, they noticed a mysterious reaction triggering in the corpses of the six great snow wolves. The bodies started to bloat, and from their skin, pointy ice spikes started to protrude.
After recalling how the wolves used their bodies as a catalyst without any care for their health to cast spells, it became quite clear what was going to happen next.
The royal soldiers went to help Lupa stand. However, there was not enough time to escape. They were at the center of the corpses. Each one was about to shoot ice shards from all angles at the same time with an unknown force.
Ester became worried to see Lupa at the center of danger. She controlled the wind sigil to push her body and head over to Lupa. She wanted to protect Lupa with her sigil-covered body.
However, Ester found it difficult to control the wind as if the wind could not be controlled at the moment. She even started descending when the wind sigils used to step in the air and remain in the sky stopped working all of a sudden.
The royal mages could also feel the element of wind acting strange. They looked around, but they could not discover the source of the mysterious phenomenon.
One dangerous thought passed into their mind. Any type of wind magic was being suppressed as if any magic related to the wind element was being jammed.
The ice protruding from the corpses of the wolfs trembled as they extended and grew larger. The wind gradually grew stronger.
Everyone could notice the wind was abnormally increasing. It made them worried as no one was casting a spell for the wind to gradually become fiercer by the second.
The corpses exploded, and dozens upon dozens of ice shards shot everywhere at the same time. They were like six large shrapnel grenades exploding at the same time.
Ester covered her body with earth sigils and earth sigil tattoos. She extended her hand and shouted, “Lupa!” while falling to the ground.
Lupa looked at Ester. She smiled as if she wasn’t in danger. However, it was obvious the five royal soldiers protecting her weren’t enough. The probability of a missed projectile hitting Lupa wasn’t low.
Lilith and Iris hugged each other with tears welling in their eyes. Ester and Lupa tried to take opponents they weren’t prepared to take, and now their lives, or Lupa’s life, were in danger.
Jun Ye Rim didn’t express any worries. She raised her gaze and wondered when this was all going to end. She was starting to get annoyed because of the suspense.
In front of the three women were the five royal mages shaking their staves and questioning what was happening. Their affinity with the wind element was responsive, yet they couldn’t control it.
Wind gathered in one spot, and the wind currents started shattering each and every piece of ice in sight. It was as if nature was on their side, protecting them.
