Chapter 467 Kneeling
Chapter 467 Kneeling
"Ha… Ha…" Such a small run shouldn't exhaust Alavenya, but the anxiety in her heart made it hard for her. She finally reached the teleportation circle.
Since it was still dark, most people were still asleep, including her father.
But this night was slightly brighter due to the difference in the clouds above them.
"Tsk. It has reached this place." That was right. The ash cloud had actually expanded to this place. People would have been shocked the moment they woke up in the morning, finding something out of the world right above their head.
In fact, Alavenya noticed that some heavier materials had fallen down like rain.
There was simply not a lot of time left.
Alavenya rushed back to their home.
Fortunately, she could sense a powerful presence in the mansion.
"Young Miss?" One of the guards looked surprised, not expecting Alavenya to return, especially at this time.
Alavenya didn't reply to them. Instead, she just opened the gate by herself and started shouting, "Father!"
"Young Miss?" The guards were confused because the Dragon King was still sleeping.
However, Alavenya just rushed toward the big house while calling his name. "Father. Father."
As if getting woken up by her voice, the Dragon King couldn't help but immediately jump out to check what was going on. Even though they were still in a fight, there was no way he could abandon her as a father.
That was why he just jumped straight toward her despite being in his pajamas. "What's wrong? Why are you here?"
Alavenya looked relieved and felt a bit guilty. She knew she would be making a huge request when their relationship wasn't that good.
But this was the biggest priority.
Without hesitation, she dropped to her knees and placed her head on the ground.
"You…" The Dragon King dropped his jaw, not knowing what was going on. "Why are you kneeling? Hurry up and stand up."
Alavenya shouted, "I'm sorry."
"I know, I know. I forgive you, so please get up." The Dragon King looked worried. This was the first time he saw his daughter acting this way. His wife would have beaten him up the moment he saw their dear daughter kneel.
Alavenya shook her head. "I know that this is a big request, especially after everything I have done. However, please…please go with me, along with the entire mercenary group and their families. Please…"
"What?" The Dragon King was startled by the request.
Alavenya took a deep breath before adding, "Please take a look at the cloud above us."
"The cloud?" The Dragon King raised his head in confusion. But he immediately noticed that the cloud was something he had never seen before.
"Hmm?" The Dragon King didn't know what was going on. He activated his ena and launched himself into the air like a rocket, passing through the cloud before descending back with a handful of cloud or more like ash.
"Sulfuric smell? This is not a cloud?" The Dragon King frowned. He looked at his daughter on the ground, realizing something big must have happened.
He lowered his own body and asked, "What's going on, Alavenya? How about you get up first and explain it to me as calmly as possible?"
Alavenya raised her head before shaking her head. "We don't have time. The cloud above us is an ash cloud, produced by a volcanic eruption. You should have heard about the 'explosive' sound that rang 8 times not long ago."
"True." The Dragon King nodded. "A volcanic eruption?"
"Yes. That sound is produced by a volcano that is on the land beyond the sea. It is so big that it produces so much ash that it is expected to cover the entire world, meaning a famine that can last for a few years with no method to farm due to the ash covering the world.
"This has been confirmed by the Pope and the Forest Queen. They're trying to come up with the solution. Right now, they want to make a small base to create a new farming method that allows them to get a supply of food even when the world is getting covered by ash.
"It's just… I think it's better if we follow them. We can offer our service while they will give us the food. This is a win-win solution. And because there's no one as big as our group over there, our place is guaranteed.
"I know that this is a big request, but please…"
"!!!" The Dragon King widened his eyes in shock. He never thought something that big was happening when he was sleeping.
However, his focus was somewhere else. There was no way to confirm whether this matter was true or not, but it would be a different case if the Pope had said it.
The only time when the Pope intervened was when it involved multiple kingdoms or even the entire world.
Hence, the Dragon King raised two fingers. "Give me two answers. First, did they mention anything about the front line collapsing?"
"How did you know?" Alavenya raised her eyebrows. Find your next adventure on empire
Her reaction alone was already an answer, so he immediately asked the second question. "Is Nathan involved in this?"
"Nathan?" Alavenya didn't know why her father mentioned Nathan, considering Vivian and the Pope should be the main focus. Still, she had no choice but to answer it honestly. "Yes. Nathan was the first one to suspect it, and both Vivian and the Pope went to the west coast to personally confirm it.
"I know that Nathan might be just a student, but when he is correct in one thing, he won't be mistaken for at least several steps after that. Father…"
"Say no more." The Dragon King waved his hand.
Was her father angry because Nathan revealed the deal between them?
Alavenya opened her mouth, wanting to convince him. To her surprise, the Dragon King made the move first. "Jin, Gen!"
"Yes, sir!" The two guards hurriedly entered.
Alavenya's face turned pale, thinking that her father might want to kick her out of this house.
But the Dragon King said in a stern tone. "This is my direct order. Go to every single house of our people. Bang on their door or whatever and tell them to gather here within two hours. Tell their families to pack up their luggage while they personally help you guys in spreading this order.
"Recall our force as well. We'll be moving our headquarters completely. Tell them that if they don't want to move, we won't consider them as our people anymore."
