Chapter 634 - A Lost Civilization

Chapter 634 - A Lost Civilization

Chapter 634: A Lost Civilization

A funnel had seemingly appeared at the convergence of a nebula, the black entrance wide and long. It was not possible to say where it led or what was inside.

Xia Fei gritted his teeth and charged into the Dark Crow Pupa Cavity.

*Whoosh!*

Edgeless’s own night-vision goggles activated. There was no light in that pitch-black space, but with the most advanced armor in the Law Realm, Xia Fei could clearly see around him. However, the colors had shifted, making his surroundings appear bizarre.

The quantum engines ejected dazzling flames as they pushed Xia Fei into the Dark Crow Pupa Cavity. The speed was neither too fast nor too slow, enabling Xia Fei to observe his surroundings at his leisure.

Those soft sapient lifeforms and those strange dark golden ships had seemingly disappeared, and Xia Fei encountered no obstacles as he forged his way forward.

Suddenly, the area in front of him opened up. Behind that black nebula was a bright space that was illuminated by white light from the surrounding nebula. With a glance, one could see the entirety of this hidden space.

Like a cave that had been excavated out of a white cloud, the Dark Crow Pupa Cavity was brimming with a mythical aura inside. Warships and planets were all set against the backdrop of the white nebula, leaving Xia Fei to think about the castle in the sky from that one movie. It was just that the area was so vast that he felt incredibly small.

“Eh? What’s that?” Phantom pointed at the distance and asked.

A large and lonely piece of land floated above the white nebula. Trees and plants grew on this piece of land, and orderly geometric buildings had been built upon it. There was also a giant energy barrier covering the entire land. The entire thing seemed to be floating on the clouds.

Strange!

Mysterious!

Xia Fei’s eyes brightened!

The mystery of those planets and warships were not even one-ten-thousandth of this floating land. For some reason, Xia Fei felt some familiarity from it.

“You’ve intruded into the base of those soft sapient lifeforms, but they’re not attacking you. This is very strange, so it’s best if you don’t get careless. I sense that there is some unknown threat in this space. It’s the first time I’ve encountered such a bizarre Dark Crow Pupa Cavity,” Lionheart King Oro sternly said.

A hidden dimension that even Oro was weirded out by? This was definitely not good news.

Xia Fei had always been a very curious person, and that distant floating land had a fatal attraction. Slowly and cautiously, he advanced to see what was going on.

As he got closer and closer, he was soon able to see the layout of this land!

The center of the city was arranged in concentric circles around the golden dome, with layers of canals dividing the city. The buildings of each ring were different and arranged in picturesque disorder.

Three giant pyramids were arranged in a triangle, resonating with the golden dome at the center. Beyond the city were a lush forest, a wild desert, a raging ocean, and a beach made from black reefs, which seemed savage and bizarre.

The city was unbelievably huge, but there was no sign of any inhabitants, and while the forest was lush, no birds could be heard chirping within. The entire land was extremely quiet and lacked vitality.

Xia Fei’s brows furrowed as he had Edgeless circle the entire continent, unwilling to recklessly charge in.

“An engine!” Xia Fei blurted out in shock.

At one end of the massive land was a series of giant engine thrusters! With a diameter that was several dozen kilometers wide!

Xia Fei hurriedly activated Edgeless’ detectors, and the core of this piece of land was soon revealed to him.

The foundation of this land had long ago been modified, with a giant warp engine taking up more than half of the space. The thrusters peeking out were only the tip of the iceberg.

Xia Fei could not help but think about the warship on which the Yu Family resided. Xia Fei had marveled at the seas and lakes on that ship; he had not expected to see a similar ship outside the Law Realm. Technologically speaking, this ship was essentially on par with the Yu Family’s ship.

The giant warp engine pushed along this piece of land as if it was a ship, while the powerful energy barrier served as the outer shell. There was no need to speculate any further; this piece of land must surely be of extraordinary origin!

This geometrically designed city, the three pyramids laid out in a triangle, the giant golden dome at the center—Xia Fei found this layout familiar; alas, the shock delivered by the sight was so great that he was momentarily unable to remember how he found it familiar.

“Falling Leaves of Autumn’s Demise!”

Regardless of the familiarity or mystery, he would find out everything once he got inside!

Xia Fei used the power of the Law of Primal Chaos to open a hole on the outer barrier and entered!

After he broke it open like a soap bubble, the energy barrier quickly closed back up, leaving behind not even a trace of damage.

He swooped in like a jet plane. This land had abundant oxygen, but Xia Fei did not open his visor. After all, this was the base of those soft-bodied parasites, and Xia Fei was not going to risk giving them any chance. As long as he had Edgeless, those lowly lifeforms would be helpless against him!

The forest was quiet, the desert was empty, with only the ethereal sound of the waves beating against the shore. This was a silent and dead continent!

*Bang!*

His quantum engines turned off as Xia Fei landed on an arched stone bridge at the edge of the city.

This bridge led away from the city and into the wilderness. The moat was full of clear water, the bottom visible, but there were no fish, making it seem lifeless.

The stone bridge was wide and elegant, easily broad enough to hold several hundred people. Vivid images of birds and beasts were carved into the railing, and despite the long passage of time, the stone bridge still seemed like new.

There were twelve of these bridges in all, evenly spaced around the circular city.

Xia Fei strode forward, entering the ninth ring of the city.

The buildings here were simple yet elegant, the rooms small yet unified in style. Presumably, the people in the ninth ring were the lower-class citizens. Based on the stone chairs and tables, Xia Fei suspected that humans had lived in this city.

After the ninth ring was the eight ring, also separated by a moat and connected by twelve bridges, but the rooms of the eighth ring were somewhat more spacious, the materials more exquisite; he even occasionally saw some old-fashioned entertainment devices.

The seventh and sixth rings were clearly of a higher class. It was clear that this land had a strict class hierarchy. The closer one got to the city center, the grander the dwellings were.

“I feel like I know what this land is?” Xia Fei said as he stood outside the fifth ring.

“What is it?” Phantom and Oro asked in unison.

“The Great Western Land, the legendary Atlantis!”

Oro did not understand human history, so he casually shrugged. In his view, this city and land were all insignificant existences.

However, Phantom and Xia Fei, who had studied human history, felt rather excited!

Atlantis was a mysterious region that had appeared in the works of Plato and the Greek mythology, a riddle that humanity had yet to explain.

This place was the capital of Atlantis, Poseidonia, the city of the sea god! It represented the essence of the Great Western Land, the apex of its culture, art, and craftsmanship.

The legend of Atlantis stated that life was extremely luxurious in this land, that people did not need to work to make a living. Everything came automatically, and the people could indulge themselves in pleasure and convenience.

The Atlanteans were said to use ninety percent of their brains and could easily communicate with animals. Not only could they build robots, through genetic engineering, they could create mermaids, human-fish hybrids. The entire city was managed by robots. The people did not need to study, and knowledge was absorbed through special tools, with children being far more intelligent than high-level scholars. Even the unicorns had been the product of their genetic manipulation!

The most striking thing about the Atlantean civilization was its energy system.

Apparently, they used some kind of cosmic energy to supply the city, and this energy came from some kind of mysterious crystal.

There were also legends that said that Atlantis had a six-sided emerald, which was placed beneath a golden palace and kept under heavy guard. This emerald was the core of the Atlantean civilization!

There were thousands of tales regarding Atlantis, and not even three days and nights would be enough to recount them all.

However, none of that was important. What was important was that the Great Western Land and the city of Atlantis were right before him!

Years ago, when Xia Fei was still just a mere sapling, he had come across some ruins from the Great Western Land; alas, those ruins were only what had remained on Earth after the Great Western Land had disappeared.

Today, Xia Fei was finally standing on this legendary land, and before him was the capital of Atlantis, Poseidonia! His excitement was indescribable!

The Great Western Land had departed the Earth sixteen thousand years ago, and now, after sixteen thousand years, Xia Fei was once more stepping onto this mythical land. How could Xia Fei not be excited?

“Look there! That language on the wall is clearly Atlantean, and those bizarre bird and beast designs are actually the same as the ones we saw on the Great Western Land buildings!”

Phantom firmly nodded. “Yes, it seems that this is the lost Great Western Land. The three pyramids must be protecting the golden basilica at the center. This is exactly the same as the descriptions of Poseidonia! How could I have not realized it?”

“It seems like the expert who ruled Atlantis installed this land with warp engines and left with it! They’re not Earthlings! They’re some kind of alien civilization who ended up on Earth!” Xia Fei continued.

As they advanced, the roads became wider and wider, and the buildings grew more and more luxurious, radiating a classical aura!

“Still, why is Atlantis inside this Dark Crow Pupa Cavity? The one who built Atlantis was an immortal expert, a powerful existence like Oro. Were they annihilated by those soft-bodied lifeforms? That doesn’t make sense, though? How could an immortal expert lose to such weak parasites?” Phantom muttered.

Xia Fei was also rather curious. It appeared that Atlantis had been here for some time. Such mighty people led by a powerful immortal expert had no reason to just disappear.

As they were able to bring this land to traverse the sea of stars, these people had to have been extremely advanced and mighty. Were the soft-bodied lifeforms even more powerful than he imagined, for them to have been able to capture and exterminate the people of the Great Western Land?!

Xia Fei’s palms began to sweat. The universe was a mysterious place, and it was hard to say if this Dark Crow Pupa Cavity did not contain some super-powerful existence!

Phantom’s eyebrows suddenly rose. “Don’t forget; you found the Beast Spirit Codex in the ruins of an Atlantean building. Poseidonia might contain the last three stages of the Beast Spirit Codex!”
