Chapter 646: Tiered Account and Tiered Treasury
“A dark gold card!”
The moment Xia Fei revealed the card in his hand, a wave of excitement rushed over the crowd, and even that arrogant Cobalti youth fell silent, a scowl appearing on his face.
The cards of Rock Private Bank were divided into different tiers. Bronze, silver, and gold cards were the most commonly seen. They were distributed according to the financial strength of the client. Those with money got gold cards, whereas ordinary clients had to settle for bronze.
Each card also received a different treatment. Bronze and silver cardholders had to stand in line while gold cardholders had an employee to specifically attend to their needs and a special room. After all, this was a bank, not a charity institution. The one who could bring the bank more profit called the shots. This was a principle that would fit with any business.
Meanwhile, Xia Fei’s card was dark gold! This was not even part of the standard tiers for Rock Private Bank’s customers! This was why everyone was surprised.
Be they bronze, silver, or gold cards, they could be obtained as long as one had money, but a dark gold card represented the client’s status as VIP! This was not just about money! This represented the bank’s respect for the superclient!
Dark gold cards could not be applied for. When a bank felt like a client deserved to have a dark gold card, it would do the paperwork for the client. If one was some rich client who attempted to apply for a dark gold card by taking out all their money, they would unfortunately only be able to get a gold card. They would not even have the right to get a dark gold card!
That proud young man felt his heart twitch as he unconsciously stroked his spatial ring. There was a silver card of Rock Private Bank inside, far inferior to Xia Fei’s card.
Anyone who could wave around a dark gold card was a major individual of considerable strength and influence. Xia Fei was wearing a Lionheart mask, so no one knew who he was. Thus, everyone regarded him as some incredible individual and treated him with utmost respect.
The eyes of that short man from the bank flashed, and he repeatedly bowed to Xia Fei. “My apologies. I didn’t know that you’re one of the bank’s superclients. My apologies for keeping you waiting.”
At the same time, all the bank employees behind the counter stood up and bowed to this superclient as he was invited to the VIP lounge.
Xia Fei, who was currently wanted, did not want to cause any sort of stir. Alas, it was not up to him. The moment he revealed the dark gold card, everyone’s attitude changed. However, the sight of that young scion deflating left Xia Fei feeling rather happy. That blue face was slightly green now as if he had eaten a dead mouse.
...
The VIP lounge was luxurious and extravagant. The moment Xia Fei sat down, he was immediately served tea and snacks and asked about how he was doing. It was completely different from the treatment received by those waiting in line outside.
The short man respectfully took Xia Fei’s card, saying that he needed to verify it. Xia Fei was somewhat uneasy as he handed the card over. After all, this card was not his, so anyone would feel a little guilty.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier that this bank card represented a big client?” Xia Fei asked Oro.
Oro was confused. “Isn’t it just an ordinary card? Why the big stir? If I took out my black card, they would all be scared to death.”
Xia Fei was rendered speechless. He had almost forgotten that Oro was the Lionheart King. He was a major figure of the two supreme races, and what seemed ordinary in his eyes was not ordinary at all in the eyes of others. As for that black card he spoke, who knew what that represented?
‘If they had access to the VIP lounge, the Atlantean Clan must have had a significant deposit. I wonder how much money they have in their account?’ Xia Fei excitedly muttered.
A few moments later, the employee entered the VIP lounge, bowed, and offered the dark gold card with both hands.
“My apologies. Your account is very old, so it will take some time to look up the information.”
Xia Fei nodded. The Atlanteans had been chased for tens of thousands years, and the account had been opened in their golden age, so it had probably been there for some time.
“Do you require any assistance?” the employee asked.
Xia Fei considered the question and then asked, “I’d like to know the accounts remaining balance and also take a look at the safety deposit box.”
“Safety deposit box? There is no safety deposit box under your name, only a tiered treasury,” replied the employee with a smile.
Xia Fei was stunned. That key was meant to open a storehouse! A treasury!
“Right, you call it a treasury and I call it a safety deposit box. They’re all for storing things, anyway,” Xia Fei casually said as he picked up his tea.
The employee nearly bit his tongue and said to himself, ‘Superclients are superclients, taking treasuries as ordinary safety deposit boxes with such ease.’
After looking at the display on his terminal, the employee said, “Your account is also tiered. At your current level of cultivation, you may only view and access the Tier 1 account. This is the balance.”
Xia Fei glanced at the number and started mentally counting, “One, ten, one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, one hundred thousand, one million! Eight million!”
The current balance was 8,476,000 grade 4 Origin Crystals! The Yu Clan’s annual revenue was not more than four million, and the number on this paper was equivalent to two years of that!
Xia Fei had never seen this much money in his life, so his excitement was understandable. Moreover, with the money he had on hand, his total assets pushed right past the ten million threshold!
However, he continued to act unperturbed, nodding to indicate that he had seen the number.
‘I’m a multimillionaire!’ Xia Fei inwardly rejoiced.
“Would you like to withdraw funds or invest them in the bonds market? Our Rock Private Bank has its own investment analyst. If you wish, we can have a personalized investment plan designed for you that can maximize your profit.”
Xia Fei shook his head. “I don’t need the money at the moment, nor do I need to invest. I’d like to inspect the treasury next.”
The employee took Xia Fei’s key and left, saying that he needed to verify it. After all, the Atlantean account and treasury were simply too old.
Once the employee was gone, Oro said in disappointment, “It seems like the Atlantis Clan had quite a lot of money. It’s a pity that it’s a tiered account, preventing you from wiping everything clean in one go.”
“What’s all this about tiered accounts and tiered treasuries?” Xia Fei curiously asked.
“It’s quite simple: Those of different cultivation levels can open different accounts. You can currently open the basic Tier 1 account. Once you’re a Law Emperor, you can open the Tier 2 account, and at Law Overlord, you can open Tier 3.
“For the sake of encouraging their descendants to work hard and cultivate, some clans design this sort of system, placing the most valuable items in the highest tier of treasury. If later generations focus on cultivation, they can get the more valuable treasures and have access to more money. Who wouldn’t try their hardest to get at the treasury left by one’s ancestors? It’s quite effective,” Oro explained.
Xia Fei was stunned. “So there’s more than one account and treasury?”
“Definitely. Once you get the right to open the higher-tier vaults, you may be in for a big surprise.” Oro chuckled.
Xia Fei could not help but long for the future. He was currently a level 7 Law Sovereign. Once he stepped into the Law Emperor realm, he could access the Tier 2 account and treasury; at which point, who knew how much money would fall into his pockets?
...
A spatial gate linked the Rock Private Bank’s branch in the Unicorn Immortal Constellation to the bank’s only treasury. Xia Fei followed the employee through and arrived at a spacious and brightly lit lobby.
Numerous corridors led off into rows of orderly treasuries. It was a secluded and peaceful environment.
There were three keyholes on the giant circular alloy door of the treasury. To gain access to the treasury, the keys of the bank manager, the treasury custodian, and Xia Fei would have to be inserted at the same time. Not one could be missing.
*Klunk!*
As the three individuals turned their keys at the same time, a crack opened in the heavy alloy door.
“Sir, your treasury is now open, and you may enter to inspect the contents. An employee will be waiting outside. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to call us over. As for the time, there is no need to be concerned. Even if you need to eat or sleep within the treasury, we can make arrangements for you.”
Xia Fei nodded. Private banks truly were something else. Even their service attitude was excellent.
To avoid suspicion, the employee immediately moved to the side once the treasury was open. Once Xia Fei entered, the giant door boomed shut. The only way to open it now was from the inside, thus ensuring the secrecy of the treasury’s contents.
This treasury had an area of seventy square meters, and it was about six meters tall. Besides the three alloy shelves, there was also a single-chair sofa which had the massage function, an automatic beverage dispenser, a desk lamp, a revolving chair, a sturdy alloy desk, a toilet, and a shower. It was arranged like a study.
Wooden chests of varying size were placed on the chest. From their appearance, one could immediately tell that they had been made by the same person. Despite the many years, these chests seemed brand-new. There was not a speck of dust in the treasury, and the temperature was a little on the cold side.
Letting out a breath, Xia Fei went to the first shelf and began to take down its chests and open them.
“Let’s start and see if there’s anything good in this treasury,” Xia Fei excitedly said.
...
The chests on the first shelf contained information on the clan’s members. As he flipped through them, he gradually gained some understanding of the Atlanteans. It turned out that their original surname was Yellow. They had resided in the White Horse Constellation, and though they had not been one of the Nine Great Clans, they had some reputation in the circle. After all, the Law Realm’s hierarchy was strict, and any clan who could live in the White Horse Constellation could not be considered weak.
From the various clues, Xia Fei discovered that this clan had a rather decent reputation in the circle, never quarreling with others, but got hunted down and destroyed in the space of a single night. This left Xia Fei rather confused. How had such a genial clan encountered such abrupt misfortune?
“The Yellow Clan might have been a sacrificial lamb in a battle of the higher-ups. Look, the files did mention that some elites of the Yellow Clan had succeeded in joining the God Race, becoming supreme existences of the Law Realm. Not only are the two peak races opposed to each other, they have numerous internal factions. Since the Yellow Clan didn’t have any enemies in the White Horse Constellation, the most likely possibility is that they were dragged into an internal conflict of the God Race.
“Things like this happen all the time. Even a great clan can sometimes be inexplicably wiped out in a single night. After all, the Law Realm is a man-eat-man place,” Oro said.
Xia Fei nodded. He placed the last chest back on the shelf and moved on to the second.
“Eh? The second shelf contain techniques!” Xia Fei exclaimed as he opened a chest.
“Law of Space, Compass Storm! It’s a Tier 3 combat technique!”
“Trash. Throw it away,” Oro frowned and said. “Anything Tier 6 and below is trash! You don’t even need to look at it.”
Xia Fei shrugged and began to sift through the innumerable combat techniques for useful ones.
Alas, Oro’s standards were too high. After an hour, he had yet to find a single worthwhile one.
“Stop! Let me take a closer look,” Oro suddenly said.
