“What are you saying? His entire upper body will be paralyzed? Didn't you say the surgery was successful? How could he end up paralyzed?” Bailey shrugged nonchalantly.

“The surgery was successful in the sense that his life was saved and his ribs were reconnected. However, it's hard to say whether he'll fully recover or not.”

She continued, “If his body isn't in good condition and doesn't respond to the treatment, even if his surface wounds heal completely, his ribs might not recover. In that case, his entire upper body will still be unable to move. If that's not paralysis, then what is it?”

Shannon slowly turned around with a mocking smile on her face.

“So you're in league with them.” Bailey didn't respond. Instead, she changed the subject.

“I've made the situation clear to you. If you don't want him to become paralyzed, you'd better take good care of him. This guy is quite a handful. If you don't keep an eye on him, he might get more crazy ideas and inflict further harm on himself. Then, there'll be no saving him.”

Shannon glared at her, “Bailey, we're not good friends anymore.”

Bailey raised her eyebrows and smiled, “No matter. Micah and Artemis are my good buddies. If you don't want to be my friend, you can be my younger sibling instead. You should get used to it. Maybe one day you'll call me your sister-in-law. Hehe! I'm looking forward to that day.”

Just as Bailey stepped out of Micah's residence, she bumped into Zeke, who had come to look for her.

“Bay, the situation in Moranta is getting more and more complicated.”

Bailey was taken aback. She asked with a frown, “What happened?”

Zeke handed her the note in his hand. Upon taking a glance, Bailey's expression immediately turned gloomy.

“I can't believe Shaun had the audacity to lay hands on Aunt Caridee. Originally I had no proper reason to provoke the Carter family. I wanted to attack them anonymously and start a conflict between the Carter family and the Luther family, both of which are prestigious households. Now that Shaun dared to mess with the Luther family's precious princess, he can't blame me for taking action against him. Veikko did a great job. Zeke rubbed his forehead and laughed.

Bailey hooked her lips into a smile, her gaze falling in the direction of the main hall.

Inside the main building on Intel Island, Quincy was gathering his subordinates to discuss their alliance with Sofie to take down the Tarragon headquarters from the inside and out.
