Chapter 217: Up To Date Lilith, The Mysterious Box
While Erix went to the interesting place where Lilith had sent Lily and others, Lilith was not sitting idle.
While leisurely sitting on the couch beside Rin, her eyes were faintly glowed and showing different scenery every second.
'It looks like I'll need a few more eyes, but what is his purpose for targeting us?' Lilith wondered while a faint shadow akin to a small bird conjured above her and vanished into the Fallen Land's huge city.
After all, she had to remain up to date because her group was somehow targeted. Her guts, along with Granny May's route, told her that something big was going to happen.
A hint of thrill coursed through her eyes before she calmed down and focused on her work as her shadow familiar roamed the city while giving her information.
Naturally, a few were destroyed by some Royal-order powerhouses who sensed them, but she could just produce more while they would never be able to track her.
'Little ants,' Lilith chuckled.
…
Erix arrived at the base of a small mountain near the umbral membrane, approximately twenty-five kilometers right from their Tree-base.
The cave entrance was already buried perfectly, but since Erix Space Mapped the area, he knew that Lily and others were two kilometers deep below this mountain, in a cavern.
After directly teleporting inside without breaking open the passage, Erix immediately arrived behind Lily.
Lily swiftly turned around by reflex, though she knew it was Erix when she turned halfway in the millisecond.
"You're here," Lily grinned and put his arms around his neck and kissed him.
"Yep," Erix smiled and kissed her back before he looked behind her. "So this is the interesting place, eh?"
Lily turned around while Erix hugged her from behind and nodded, "Yep. Lady Lilith found it."
Morgana, Zenia, and Wolt looked at Erix but turned back to the "interesting place" and continued their work.
In the center of the cavern was a pond of faintly glowing dark gray water, giving a strange and sharp feeling to Erix when he tried to sense it with his Spiritual Mystic Eye.
But that was not all.
A finger-width pitch-black trunk grew a meter above the pond's surface before eccentrically branching into dreamy white-blue branches with no leaves or fruits. The branches were glowing and had strange, chaotic patterns over them.
It resembled a tree, but it didn't look like one.
"What's the deal with it?" Erix asked, glancing at Morgana, Zenia, and Wolt.
The trio stood at the pond's edge and were using their Spirit Force to search the depth of this pond, the root of this strange thing growing in the middle.
They had already found it over an hour ago, but it was protected and well-rooted such that they had to shave the defense around it with their Spirit Force continuously.
Erix also joined them as he dived his Spiritual Mystic Eye into the pond's depth, following Lily's spirit sense that actually went two freaking kilometers deep.
"What kind of pond is this?' Erix wondered and joined the spiritual network with the other four.
'Your spirit force is weaker than us, but your senses are strangely sharp, even more powerful than Wolt's, and similar to ours,' Morgana said with a chuckle.
'I would like to battle Wolt and see how I fare,' Erix laughed.
'No need,' Wolt grunted. 'I am weaker than these two ladies, and I have no confidence to win against you because I haven't perfected my domain.'

'You can fight with me if you want to,' Morgana said with a laugh.
'Alright, I'll do that soon. You better be prepared to cry.'
'Let's focus now. We are close,' Zenia said.
'Ouch,' Lily abruptly exclaimed as sharp pain shot through her mind when her spirit sense dug into the barrier they were shaving.
'Don't let your spirit sense enter it, everyone!'
Lily immediately cut off herself from there and rubbed her temples after warning others.
"What happened?" Zenia opened her eyes and turned to Lily, curious. "Did you see what thing grew this strange tree?"
Zenia and Wolt also opened their eyes. They shaved the protection but didn't sense inside due to Lily's warning.
However, Erix was still in focus, his Spiritual Mystic Eye looking at the mysterious black wooden box with gray and dark silver patterns.
'What the heck is this?' Erix was surprised because the box was broken slightly in the middle, and this strange tree's trunk grew from there, up to two kilometers long and coming out of the pond before branching into that strange tree.
Erix spent his Spirit Force and exerted it to cut off the trunk but failed.
'Erix, don't do anything more.'
He suddenly heard Lily's thought message and stopped. 'Yeah, my spiritual power has no effect on it.'
Erix opened his eyes and asked, "But why aren't you all using Prana to take it out? Or…"
"Yep, you can't," Morgana wryly smiled and snapped her finger as she caused a dark purple ice crystal to shoot into the pond.
Erix looked at it and saw the crystal diving inside, but before it barely crossed two hundred meters, her attack was dissolved.
"Prana or Mana is weakened due to this water that the thing deep within the pond affects it."
Lily narrowed her eyes at the strange tree, "This thing is Spiritual-attributed more than Prana and Mana."
"And a super strong spiritual force can negate and affect other things, especially weaker than the power of that spiritual force."
Zenia nodded in agreement, "the thing inside this pond has way stronger spiritual force than ours."
"Lady Lilith needs to come personally to retrieve it," Wolt said.
"Alright, let's return first," Erix said as he conjured a big wormhole behind him and created its exit 10 kilometers away.
Erix flew back while pulling Lily as they disappeared.
Zenia, Morgana, and Wolt entered the portal and arrived in the sky somewhere, but there was another portal before them.
They entered the portal again and arrived right on the fat magic tree's vast branch and saw Erix and Lily sitting on a sofa couch before Lilith, telling her what they had found.
"So you didn't know what was there?" Erix asked with a wry smile.
"Of course not," Lilith chuckled. "I just sensed something interesting there, but I didn't know it was something like that."
"But from what you described, this is more than interesting~ haha," Lilith grinned and stood up. "Let's go take a look."
