Chapter 299: Breezing Through the Round
Chapter 299: Breezing Through the Round
[Round 2: Wrath of the Ancients]
_Rules:
—> Each individual will fight five enemies one after another once the round starts.
—> Each enemy you face and defeat will pass one of its effective skills onto the next one.
The countdown was ten minutes, and people who came in groups like Erix, Rin, and Aria discussed while waiting.
"Effective skills? Does that mean that a skill that is effective against us?" Rin crossed her arms, her expression thoughtful.
"That seems the case," Erix nodded.
"Hmm, but what if we defeat our target before it can do anything to us?" Aria asked as she tilted her head.
Rin couldn't help but chuckle while Erix laughed and pinched Aria's cheeks, "That's the plan."
"Tehehe, I am learning your ways," Aria giggled with a merry expression.
"Wait, wait…was that natural tee hee?" Rin was dumbfounded.
"Sure it was, haha," Erix laughed.
"What?" Aria was confused.
"Eh, it's an expression, I guess?" Rin explained. "Some people back in our world use Tee hee to sound cute, but it's cringe most of the time."
"Cringe? What does that mean?" Aria curiously asked.
"Hmmm, something that makes you awkward when you see it."
"Oh…" Aria nodded, thoughtful. "Then I think it's based on individuals, right?"
"Yeah, some might feel cringe and some not at the same thing," Erix nodded and glanced at some people. "Anyway, those people of the cosmic faction that came to invite us also passed."
"That guy seems to have a beef with us or what?" Rin raised her eyebrows as she noticed Addler looking at them often.
Erix shrugged. "Doesn't matter."
"True."
The countdown soon reached 0, and everyone vanished from the island, arriving in an individual confined arena made of stones and surrounded by white clouds.
[First opponent: Trexer Fourarms]
[Note: Exiting from the arena's border will result in defeat.]
Erix saw a three-meter tall humanoid with four arms appearing a hundred meters away from him in this one-kilometer-long and wide square Arena platform.

..
Erix saw the countdown and inspected the opponent.
'Nihilir: Dismantle Enchant + Chaos Call on Iron Deathly Maw should do the work.'
[Nihilir: Dismantle Enchant]
_Type: active-buff skill.
_Effect: Enchant another skill and give it the Dismantle aspect of Nihilir.
—> Dismantle: An aspect of Nihilir focused on pure offense, capable of breaking down anything with combined effects brought out from 'Decay of Death', 'Invasive Penetration of Space', and 'Burning Destruction of Flame'
[Chaos Call]
_Type: active-buff skill.
_Effect: A skill to induce chaos using the Chaos concept within a skill's formation structure to cause a reactive, chaotic explosion. Applies effects of Chaos concept.
[Deathly Maw]
_Type: active skill.
_Effect: conjures a deathly skull that deals damage according to your Magic power.
_Cost: Death energy and Prana of any amount controllable by you.
Erix could turn this Deathly Maw into an Iron Deathly Maw by coating its structure with his unique Tier-5.5 Metal: Blazetide Iron, for maximum damage.
He had already created a Rune for his Metal enchants that he could modify to give his skills a buff of his Metal's property and conductivity for skill execution and elements, and then use it for more damage.
Naturally, that was not all because Erix also had passive skills that boosted his damage. The ones working for this attack were two.
[Death Devour]
_Type: Passive skill.
_Effect: If your Death-attributed skills strike your opponent, you will actively produce death power by shaving away the 'Living vitality' of your opponent to accumulate Death Devour, boosting your Death-attributed damage by 10%.
[Death Boost]
_Type: Passive skill.
_Effect: Using your Death-attributed skills reduces your vitality by 5%, but boosts the skill's damage by 10%. This boost increases to 30% If you are in Death Heart mode.
When the ten-second countdown finished, the Trexer Fourarms roared and instantly pointed its four arms at Erix.
Alas…
A giant black skull with dark blue patterns manifested above it, with the skull's teeth shining deathly hazy purple of Dismantle Enchant.
It took a bite before Trexer Fourarms could do anything, devouring half of its body and cutting it into two before the skull exploded into a burst of chaotic and destructive explosion, instantly destroying its upper half.
The lower-half body vanished following that, making Erix grin. 'Chaos Call is working well.'
Chaos Call was the end game of a skill's execution. He could explode anything and apply the chaos concept's power to directly increase the damage by 50% + reactive damage depending on the energies used on the skill's structure.
As for how that skull suddenly appeared behind Trexer Fourarms…it was simple. Erix had achieved 3rd realm of Space Affinity, and thanks to that, he had certain control of space around him.
Just with a thought and a bit of consumption of Prana, he could manifest his skills anywhere within his effective range that depended on his Spirit stat->Spiritual Mystic Eye's range.
…
On the other hand, Rin waited for her 2nd opponent as stood calmly with her hands holding her Blade Eater's Katana in a new form of that custom-made weapon while holding Raibor Power Slime in the shape of a spear in her other hand.
There was a mysterious Ring around her that looked still, but it was in the maximum motion of light, giving a neon colorful hue mix of dark red, dark blue, and golden.
But this ring was an amalgamation of her slashes spinning around her.
She achieved this by creating a time-loop around her, and with Chronace element's powers that could physically bend the flow of time and speed with wind and lighting aspects.
Rin created this infinite loop ring consisting of her slashes that spun at light speed, gaining immensely powerful momentum and power that regarded no defense before her, especially with the 'Severum' effect of her Blade concept.
Her second opponent arrived.
Rin inspected it and just waited for the ten-second countdown before both her weapons shone and her eyes flashed.
Instantly, a single piercing slash akin to an arrow shot from the Infinite Slash Loop around her, but when it reached the enemy in an instant, it turned into a cross-slash, cutting it into four cleanly and killing it.
Her attack took less than a second from start to finish the enemy.
Rin was dazed in glee. 'Why is this so powerful?'
[Infinite Slash Loop]
_Effect: Chronace element's Dissolution flow that loops ultra-dense blade slashes in a perfect light-speed motion to generate various types of attack according to your control.
Of course, her passive skills also boosted the damage.
