Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 137

Chapter 137: Soul Breakthrough

The night was bathed in the ethereal glow of moonlight, creating a shimmering effect reminiscent of gentle ripples on water. Through the window, it cast a layer of silver radiance inside the room.

Suddenly, the silver glow in the room flickered, and Qi Bei, lying in the center of the bed, furrowed his brows.

“Where am I? Am I in a dream again?” Qi Bei looked around and realized he was floating in a void space.

Within the space, tiny specks of light floated around, resembling countless fireflies dancing in the air.

Qi Bei drifted forward and suddenly noticed a graceful figure standing in the distance, seeming somewhat familiar.

He exerted all his effort to chase after her, but no matter how he pursued, the woman remained distant.

“Hey, who are you? Can you see me?” Qi Bei shouted loudly.

The woman turned her head slightly, revealing a pair of eyes sparkling like a starry sky.

“Boom!”

A loud explosion echoed in Qi Bei’s mind and his thoughts became hazy. Her gaze seemed to penetrate through layers of time and space, fixating on him, making his soul feel as if it was drifting away.josei

But just at that moment, the void shattered, and the woman’s figure dissipated into countless specks of light.

Qi Bei suddenly shook and opened his eyes.

Why did that figure, that gaze, feel so familiar?

“City Lord, did you have a bad dream?” Mi Qi’s small head popped out, her big eyes filled with confusion.

“I had a dream, but it shouldn’t be a bad one… Mi Qi, where are your hands?” Qi Bei replied, realizing something was amiss. When he woke up, he found his towering belongings firmly held by a small hand.

“Hands… What hands?” Mi Qi yawned and suddenly remembered something. She then buried her head back in the covers.

“Wow… How did it become so big? I thought I was holding the controller!” Mi Qi’s astonished voice came from under the covers.

Qi Bei was speechless. He simply let go of Mi Qi’s restless little hand and got up to dress.

By now, it was already bright outside, and Huan Ying had woken up at some point.

Qi Bei couldn’t shake off the strange feeling. The figure and eyes from his dream kept lingering in his mind.

“Young Master, what’s wrong with you?” Huan Ying asked with concern. Qi Bei had been absent-minded the whole day, lost in his thoughts.

“It’s nothing.” Qi Bei shook his head but continued to space out.

Huan Ying let out a sigh and didn’t disturb Qi Bei any further. Perhaps the young master was troubled and seeking answers.

Another night came, and Qi Bei had the same dream again.

The figure and gaze in the dream captured all of his attention, as if they held his entire soul.

However, this time, when the figure dissipated into thousands of lights, Qi Bei didn’t wake up immediately. The void shifted, and he found himself standing in a crowded street, bustling with people.

“This is…” Qi Bei paused for a moment. Wasn’t this the busy street of West Spirit City when he was trapped in that illusory world?

In the crowd, a stunning woman in a green dress appeared, and Qi Bei’s eyes widened.

Was it her? The girl who had helped him escape from that world.

Like a replay of the scene, the girl passed by him with a sweet and happy smile, heading toward a handsome young man.

It was only now that Qi Bei realized that the handsome young man looked exactly like him. In the illusory world, he had crushed that young man’s head with a single claw.

Then, the girl turned back and suddenly looked at him.

That gaze immediately jolted Qi Bei awake from his dream. The figure and gaze in the void merged swiftly with the girl, perfect and flawless.

Qi Bei suddenly remembered something. He took out the spatial ring he had taken from the disciple of the Dream Sea, and with his mind, entered the separate space it contained.

There, the portrait of the beautiful woman was still displayed, but now, instead of just a figure from behind, she slightly turned her head, revealing her mesmerizing eyes, just like in his dream.

“It’s you. Did you pull me out of the illusory world?” Qi Bei murmured to the portrait, speaking to himself.

Suddenly, the figure of the beautiful woman in the portrait detached from the painting and transformed into a green light that merged into Qi Bei’s consciousness.

Qi Bei’s thoughts instantly detached from the spatial ring, and he felt as if his soul had undergone a profound transformation. Everything he saw seemed to come alive and was no longer lifeless. His gaze became clearer and clearer, the dazed expression dissipated, and he felt a sense of exhilaration, as if he had broken through a realm.

It wasn’t a breakthrough in strength, but a breakthrough in soul realm!

Qi Bei contemplated for a long time but couldn’t figure out what was happening.

Since he couldn’t figure it out, he decided to stop thinking about it. After all, he felt so good right now that even the breakthrough of the Nine Transformations couldn’t compare.

…..

At the entrance of West Spirit City, the bustling crowd suddenly seemed frozen in place, and the clamor almost ceased simultaneously.

A silver-haired man in white robes, exuding an icy and frigid aura, was approaching the city gate. Even before he arrived, a chilling wind swept over, causing people to shudder. Though he was moving, he appeared lifeless, like a walking ice sculpture.

The city guards became alert, keeping a watchful eye on the young man.

However, it seemed that the man didn’t come to cause trouble. He walked past everyone as if they were invisible and entered the city.

“It’s so cold. He must be cultivating a frost attribute battle qi,” someone remarked.

“This person is a master, at least a Senior warrior,” a merchant confirmed.

“Such a show-off. I can’t stand people like him,” a hired mercenary from a merchant caravan sneered.

But just then, the icy young man suddenly turned back. The mercenary who had called him a show-off immediately lowered his head, no longer daring to speak nonsense.

However, the man didn’t even look at him. Instead, he approached the tense city guards and said coldly, “I want to see your City Lord. Lead the way.”

“Go to the City Lord’s mansion and find him yourself. Whether the City Lord wants to see you or not, I don’t know. Our duty is to guard the city gate, not to be guides,” replied the captain of the city guards, tilting his head up. This captain was once a death row prisoner who fled to West Spirit City to make a living. He later enlisted when Qi Bei took over the city.

The air around the icy man suddenly surged with cold battle qi, knocking down everyone within hundreds of meters. Layer upon layer of frost spread out from him.

A city guard immediately released a magic flare signaling an enemy attack.

Watching the flare explode in the sky, the man looked toward the city and thought, “Good, that saves me the trouble.”

Before long, a fully armed squad of the Divine Dragon Army rushed over and surrounded the man.

Leading the Divine Dragon Army was Captain Du Shou, a cunning old fox with sharp insight. Seeing the frost covering the ground around the man, he immediately sensed the difficulty of the situation. This guy was at least a King-ranked powerhouse, and perhaps even higher.

Coincidentally, Qi Bei casually stepped out of the door, and upon seeing the magical flare bursting in the sky, he couldn’t help but be surprised.

Since his reputation had grown, the rules in West Spirit City had become deeply ingrained in people’s minds. Even the adventurers with the most audacity no longer dared to cause trouble inside the city.

“Jin Gang, Lone Eye, go and check out what’s happening. Whoever dares to stir up trouble in my territory must have the courage of lion.” Qi Bei called out.

Jin Gang and Lone Eye appeared in front of Qi Bei. Seeing Qi Bei in high spirits, they couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. For the past few days, Qi Bei had been in a daze, but now it seemed he had returned to normal.

When Qi Bei sensed the chilling aura from afar, his expression changed. He couldn’t forget that aura—it was definitely the presence of the Earth-grade powerhouse who had pursued them alongside the Dragon Armor Legion.

Now that Emperor Han Mo had started to win him over, it was unlikely that Han Mo had sent this person. So, there was only one possibility: he had come to avenge the grudge from their encounter in Green Leaf City.

However, if Qi Bei had been wary of Earth-ranked powerhouses before reaching the Second Transformation of the Divine Dragon, he was not so afraid now. On the contrary, he felt a bit eager to give it a try.

When Qi Bei arrived, the squad of Divine Dragon Army led by Du Shou was sent flying by a burst of cold air from Leng Sufeng.

“City Lord, he…” Du Shou ran over, about to explain the situation, but Qi Bei interrupted him with a raised hand. He stared at Leng Sufeng, and Leng Sufeng stared back at him. Their gazes clashed fiercely in the air.

There was no killing intent, but in an instant, strong battle intent surged from the depths of their eyes. Almost simultaneously, the two of them rose from the ground.

Golden Qi wings appeared behind Qi Bei, while Ice Qi wings emerged behind Leng Sufeng. In an instant, the two of them disappeared into the sky.

In the desolate sky above the wasteland, Qi Bei and Leng Sufeng almost simultaneously reappeared, hovering in mid-air, exuding their full power.

“At the pinnacle of the Earth grade…” Qi Bei narrowed his eyes. His body remained motionless amidst the swirling frost brought forth by Leng Sufeng.

However, to Qi Bei’s surprise and delight, he had thought that without dragon transformation, it would be difficult for him to withstand the pressure of a Earth-grade powerhouse. But now he found that although he had some difficulty breathing, it wasn’t a big problem to hold on. The pressure of an Earth-grade powerhouse seemed to have little impact on him.

Leng Sufeng also sensed this and his battle intent intensified. This young man before him, who had only been an Intermediate warrior, had injured him with a strange energy. Although it was his own carelessness, the fact remained that he had been injured by an Intermediate warrior, and he didn’t want to make excuses for himself.

In just over a year’s time, this young man had grown to the realm of a King-grade powerhouse, which was truly astonishing.

But precisely because of that, he wanted to engage in a battle with him even more.

Leng Sufeng extended his hand, and a jade-like longsword appeared in his grasp. Previously, he had regarded using a sword against Qi Bei as a disgrace, but now, if he didn’t draw his sword, it would be a disgrace to the other party.

Suddenly, Leng Sufeng’s pupils constricted as he sensed a sharp Qi blade behind him slashing toward his neck. Meanwhile, in front of him, Qi Bei’s figure was gradually fading away.

Leng Sufeng swiftly flicked the Icy Jade Sword in his hand backward, forcefully colliding with the golden blade qi, as if he possessed an uncanny sense of perception.
