Chapter 67 67: 10,000 Years, Finally Together Again [1]
Chapter 67 67: 10,000 Years, Finally Together Again [1]
?
There was a deathly silence—each moment the clock struck, Amon felt that he shouldn't have asked this question now, maybe waited for a better time as he looked at the huge moon enveloping the sky with a bitter smile.
'Tia?'
Nothing...
"Since I cannot speak to you this way..."
"Let me confirm the truth with my own eyes."
His body stretched—the high-octane combat was a little exciting for him, but he wasn't used to such intense acts, now feeling an aching pain from his muscles tearing and over-stretching them.
'Doesn't matter if they are already sore—let's push them even further.'
Amon didn't want to go home to get his car, and an Ober would be stopped a block away from the district as it doesn't allow unlisted vehicles to enter the area.
The perk of being one of the richest areas in the city.
Tap!
His body jumped into the air, the misty veil wrapping around him as he headed towards the Murdock residence, his eyes focused, gleaming violet light with each jump he made the trail of the Qi following his body, in a beautiful image of purple, blue and black lines dancing around a vague figure.
The time to reach the mansion was not as long as he thought, many of the guards were well-focused, but he was not a poor protagonist with no pass to get inside.
He was a regular, even more since he slept with Alice; she removed the order to kick him off the premises and allowed him through without trouble.
"Stop right there—this is restricted property!" A guard holding an Anti-Warrior plasma rifle pointed it towards Amon with a click, his body donned in a black combat suit and helmet protecting his identity.
"Show your identification and leave!" The second guard followed, his voice more mature and seemed superior.
They asked for identification before escorting people away for safety—after an intruder or accidental guess appeared, they would use that identification to track whether it was truly accidental or they were someone with nefarious ideas.
Be it stalkers, salesmen, or people with grudges; the list was long.
'Good work, guys and Alice took my advice by giving them the best defensive equipment to hide their faces and protect their lives...'
Amon knew how deadly this world was once the Warriors began to appear—normal people's lives seemed to become worthless, and although he didn't care much for a random stranger, the idea that these guards who worked hard to protect his woman would die putting her at risk...
It wasn't very pleasant, so why not equip them with the best instead?
Flicking his wrist, the access card fluttered on the tip of his index finger, spinning beautifully.
"Is this alright, boys? I'm here to see my wife, Alice." The moment he spoke, the strange veil that was masking him faded.
With a flicker of light revealing his handsome face and new look—they were amazed that the long-haired Amon now had shaved the sides of his head with an undercut style.
"A-ah... It's Master Amon! Thank you for the equipment; because of that, when a little scoundrel tried to break in the other night, we could beat him back!"
The older guard looked at, the younger one with a loose tongue, shaking his head.
"Well, it's true, he claimed you were a horrible villain, and the Lady was in trouble, yet since she started dating you... even the gardeners can see how happy and relaxed she is."
Amon nodded, noting that an intruder unsettled him, so he asked for more information.
"I cannot deny that the general population would call me a villain for how I waste money.
"Hahaha, pray tell did he scream his name with a sense of righteous indignation?"
His words caused both guards to gasp—it was like the young master of the Winchester family had become psychic and calmer over the past few weeks, still remembering how they used to kick him away and chase him with rubber batons.
"Master Amon, t-that is indeed what he did, he spoke about some kind of azure something or other, and his bloodline would destroy all evils..."
"Ethan... I believe in his incessant bellowing he called himself Ethan!" Said the old guard.
"I see."
"Did anyone get injured or die? That bastard is a Warrior with a nasty trick... He can devour a person's QI and Aura when they die."
"Oh fuck!?"
"I'm glad Percy didn't die!"
It almost seemed like fate, something or someone guiding Amon's path, to let him find the actions and mistakes of Ethan, but he couldn't understand why...
The world wanted Ethan to win, for him to be crushed, embarrassed and slain.
'I don't know—let's not dwell and keep the thought in my mind.'
Amon looked at both guards, who suddenly opened their visors to show two rugged men. One looked 42, and the other around 21, but cultivators were tricky—the 21-year-old could be 2100 years old, and the 42-year-old could be 18.
It was a fucked up world like that, so imagine cultivators that catfish...
"But never fear, Master Amon, since you gifted these Anti-Warrior weapons, we shot him in the crotch! Although these weapons don't kill unless the safety is off."
"It seemed to suck his QI completely before we all grouped around the bastard!"
"I've never seen old'Tom beat someone so badly; the poor guy's face looked like a baboon's arse!"
These guards were quite likeable to Amon—he suddenly felt the need for male company when all you do is surround yourself with women.
Although your lust, desire and crotch are at peace, a part of every man needs time to hang out with other guys.
Mostly to do dumb shit...
"Good work, guys, I know it's a shit job, and you probably get sick of us rich cunts driving around and making you feel like dirt."
The two guards smiled at Amon before the older one nudged his shoulder, something that the past Amon might have had him fired for and then beaten to the level of cabbage.
That was how the rich treated the poor in this damn world since it changed hands.
Amon Weltz was a man born into extreme riches, his father a top businessman... Only for him to fall on hard times, his crimes and sins coming to view before his mother left with another man sick of the now impoverished lifestyle...
Then from the ground up, Amon became wealthy again through hard work, writing himself to the bone and investing...
Even after he lost his first novels...
So he knew both sides, from the born rich to the nouveau rich and poor.
Tapping the old man on the shoulder, he gave a bitter smile before listening to the guard's words.
"Before... you were an utter prick lad, but it must be the good fate of meeting our lady that you have become so fine."
"Well, I was a bastard before, blinded by my money and lust without thinking about her situation and feelings."
"Haha, no need to be modest."
"No one in this mansion doesn't know the Lady's love for you now—how you made that moody ice maiden into such a lovely songbird that hums and sings in the morning while tending to the flowers. I'll never know!"
After another heavy pat that might have caused a normal guy to crumble to his knees, the old man took the young guard and parted ways.
Amon said he wanted to surprise Alice, so he asked them to keep quiet, only with the old man chuckling and winking at him, speaking about how it reminded him of secretly visiting his old wife.
Tonight's meeting made Amon want to give a bonus to these guys who work all night in the cold or hammering rain...
Then his mansion and guards... He decided to train them with basic martial arts techniques allowing them to step into the world of warriors.
'I can find a way to stop their betrayal, but it cannot break their will and own freedom.'
"Oh... By the way, Master Amon...?" The old man turned to see only a slight black mist fading, his eyes peering around the large garden, but nothing.
"Master Amon was a Warrior!?" He muttered, seeing the familiar back only a few steps from the mansion.
Amon didn't know the guards of Murdock were now in awe of him—although they were Warriors, they lacked talent and were rather weak or limited to the first two stages, but none of them could see the QI and aura of Amon, so they believed him to be a normal mortal.
Looking at the huge mansion, he saw several dark rooms while others were still brightly lit.
He traced his memory to find Alice's room and looked to see if any rooms were also lit up because he was sure nobody else lived close to Alice as her wing was private, even her mother would only enter after buzzing for permission.
"Strange... There are two rooms other than her's with a light shining..." Amon whispered as his body danced through the air, landing on a stone statue's head that hung on the second-floor wall opposite Alice's Eastern Wing.
'Let's just go and find out.'
Amon's body dropped off the statue, running with light but rapid steps towards the two windows.
He peeked into Alice's room, where she was currently undressing, and saw her full moon with blue forest greeting him.
'As perky and cute as ever.'
Unable to stop and admire it, he continued running.
Left or Right?
Which was the right room!?
