“It is fine, you can hold it,” Rina said. “The virus is only dangerous if it enters through a wound or you ingest it.”
“Well, that sure is an image that I didn’t need in my head…” Luke said as he picked the sword and began to clean it.

“I guess this one will last a while longer,” Luke said and then tried to swing it. “Still… aside from very simple attacks, I guess I can’t use it really well.”
“… I can feel the danger approaching them,” Rina said.
“Oops, my bad,” Luke said and then resumed his run.
Luke didn’t know if it was due to the mist or if it was because he was approaching the residential area, but the number of zombies suddenly increased. That was good and bad. It was good because Luke could get more experience, but it was bad because of the visibility. Fortunately, his new weapon gave him the reach to kill zombies with a single thrust, and they didn’t get close to him.

“Turn to the right, they are fifty meters on the right side of that block,” Rina said.
Luke didn’t like to hear that. The reason was the fact that he could smell smoke again… the smell of fire and rotten burning flesh was that strong. When Luke turned right, he confirmed his fears. He saw three fire zombies taking turns and attacking what seemed to be a bakery with their Fireballs.
“Why aren’t they invading it?” Luke asked. “Is your friend there?”
“Yes, the zombies can sense the presence of an elf, so they are being careful,” Rina replied.
“Are the zombies that smart?” Luke frowned. “They certainly didn’t seem before…”
“The stronger the monster, the better their instincts,” Shalia explained. “Even zombies have instincts. Still, for someone who was picked by the elves not to be able to take only three of those… What a weakling. See, Luke? That is why it is a waste of time to walk with such useless beings. You should follow your desires… instead of listening to her nonsense, you can have a lot more fun with me.”
While in theory, that seemed interesting, Luke didn’t feel anything after hearing that. It was probably because Shalia and Rina looked like fairies, they were cute, but with that size, neither of them would be able to tempt Luke properly.
Regardless… Luke already accepted the task, so he might as well finish it. Not to mention, those monsters will give more experience, and the chances of them dropping something is much higher as well.
Luke dashed toward them because he didn’t have the confidence to hit them with long-ranged attacks from so far away. He didn’t even grab knives because soon, the creatures took notice of him. When he was fifteen meters away from them, the first fire zombie opened its mouth and then fired a Fireball. However, Luke dodged when he used Stinger to the side. That was right… The skill could be used to increase his movement speed as well.
When the second one tried to hit him with the same attack, Luke used the first zombie as a shield. The creature tried to attack him with his arms, but Luke repelled them with his sword. In the end, he finished the creature after using Stinger. Since he was so close, the sword easily pierced the mouth of the zombie.
The first zombie began to fall, and then the second and third ones prepared their Fireballs. Luke pulled his sword and then prepared to use the Stinger, but then suddenly, some Ice Arrows flew from the store and hit the enemies’ shoulders. Instead of looking toward the place, Luke ran toward the zombies wondering why the dumbass of the caster didn’t hit their heads. Nevertheless, Luke succeeded in killing the zombies before they could cast fireball again.

“Ah… I didn’t get all the rewards…” Luke said and then saw a pair of gloves on the ground. “Those are mine, right? I don’t have to give one of them to the guy who fired the ice arrows, right?”
“Yes… I suppose,” Rina frowned. “See? Good things happen to good people!”
“Such nonsense…” Shalia said and then sighed.

Luke checked his status and couldn’t help but be impressed at his growth in just three hours. In any case, even though he didn’t get it, the fire on the zombies’ bodies made him lose some health. Despite that, he increased his intelligence and speed. It was pretty evident for him who played many games that those would increase his mana and stamina, and so they did it. Mana for Weapon Augmentation and stamina for Stinger.
“Thank you for your help,” A dark-haired girl who was a few years younger than Luke appeared, leaving the bakery on fire and then said. “Someone really saved us, you were right, Luthi.”
The girl looked to be around fifteen. She was probably the one who cast the ice arrows… However, Luke was more interested in the creature on her left shoulder. It was a small Male elf.
“Is it a coincidence that you two are females and he is a Male?” Luke asked.
“Are you complaining?” Shalia asked.
“Not really, but I am wondering if it is easier for you guys to convince us to accept your help if you are from the opposite gender,” Luke said.
“You are correct, that helps a lot,” Shalia smiled.
