Although that massive monster made Luke frown, it didn’t stop him from destroying the crystal. Whoever was on the other side probably realized that ordinary monsters couldn’t stop Luke, so they sent one of their big guns… and that wasp was pretty big, like five times bigger than Luke himself. It was essentially the same if compared to the others. Instead of creating a torrent of frozen wind to freeze his legs, the monster made ice arrows appear around itself and then fired toward Luke.

“This is…” Luke muttered when he saw the arrows appearing one after the others instead of directly flying towards him.

Luke used Dash to increase his speed and then escape since the other wasps still wanted a piece of him. After escaping the barrage of ice arrows, Luke prepared himself to use Stinger and open a path toward the box of nails that he dropped, but Shalia used Fireballs and burned the heads of several wasps. Luke didn’t have time to sigh in relief, though. Another torrent of ice arrows was flying toward him.

“What the heck is wrong with those statuses… they are too high!” Luke said, crossing the path Shalia created.

“Well, bigger creatures have higher status, and unless their bodies are stronger, they can’t sustain themselves,” Rina explained.

Luke finally reached his box and prepared to face the smaller wasps, but he didn’t have time to Aim. The bigger wasp attacked him with ice arrows, the very monument he slowed down. Fortunately, Shalia was there to help, and she killed the wasps that got too close.

“Focus on the big guy, Luke,” Shalia said while grinning. “He will give you tons of experience points.”

Luke wished that he could share that enthusiasm. While defeating the monster was the only thing he could do to open his path, Luke still wasn’t so sure if he could take it down. The monster was many times stronger than him, after all. While running away, Luke looked toward the monster and then used the nails alongside Weapon Augmentation when he saw an arrow flying toward him. Both projectiles collided, but in the end, Luke lost the exchange. The ice arrow lost half of its original size but still flew toward him. By moving his sword, Luke blocked the attack, but he still had some weight behind it…

“As expected of a level seven spell… even if it is a basic spell, it can become that powerful when it reaches that level,” Luke thought.

Luke decided to run for a while and wait for the ordinary wasps to be taken down by Shalia and for the massive monster to waste its mana. Still, after five minutes, Luke realized that the creature’s mana didn’t decrease even a little bit… the Focus of the monster was also unbelievably high.

When Luke tried to gain some extra distance from the monster, the creature suddenly summoned an Ice Wall to block his path. The big wasp could fly pretty fast, but it apparently wasn’t that skillful, so it didn’t like to make turns. Nevertheless, Luke used Flying Kick to escape the barrage of Ice Arrows that almost pierced his back. Only three of those had been enough to destroy the ice wall that Luke didn’t have the confidence in destroying in just a few moments if Luke gets hit in a bad spot… despite imagining that, Luke smiled.

Luke suddenly turned around and dashed toward the monster. When he entered his range, he used Stinger. However, the wasp increased its altitude in the blink of an eye, forcing Luke to miss. He frowned when he saw the monster ten meters above him, but Luke didn’t let that bother him. He fired some Spark Balls to see how much the beast was to them, and they only caused five points of damage… The wasp recovered that exactly the same amount over the course of three seconds.

“That thing must have a high Resistance against magic, but considering its health, it shouldn’t have a high endurance,” Rina said. “You will have to rely on physical attacks.”

Before Luke could confirm that hypothesis, the wasp attacked him with a rain of ice arrows again, and once again, Luke was forced to move away. Using physical attacks when the enemy can fly so high will be difficult, but Luke had some ideas on how to deal with that…

Luke increased his speed and began to run around the monster. The wasp tried to keep up with him, but the monster was only good at flying in straight lines, as expected. Without hesitation, Luke fired some nails toward the beast, but even though Luke hit its wings, the monster only suffered ten or so points of damage but each projectile… Luke used the higher levels of Weapon Augmentation, but when he started to cause more damage, the wasp moved its sting and blocked them. Luke frowned when he heard a metallic sound when the nails hit the sting… no, that crystal-like spear that was two times bigger than him.

“I thought that thing could only be used as a weapon…” Luke thought. “It is big for an insect, but it certainly can use its head.”

Luke noticed that something had changed in the eyes of the breast. When the creature attacked afterward, he confirmed that feeling. The wasp fired dozens of ice arrows at the same time, and when Luke tried to dodge them, three Ice Walls appeared around him. His only exit was the back, from which the arrows were coming. Still, Luke escaped by jumping as high as possible after turning around, and then he used Stinger to attack the beast.
