Vol. 2 - Chapter 5.2 - The Other Disciple (2)
Aina's next words shook Takashi and Excella.
"Moreover, I would have been able to finish off Duma a lot faster."
"H-HUH–!? That's impossible no matter how you cut it!! There is no one who can bring down the deathless Duma besides Lord Hero!!"
"There is. RIGHT here. Okay? Princess of Leirune. Humans are always progressing."
Aina laughed fearlessly and plunged her sword into Duma's head once again. This time, the sword pierced through her cheek and her mouth cavity, rendering Duma unable to speak. Suddenly, a frightening roar filled the air.
"C-Can't stand it any LOOohoOONNNNGEeheEHER!"
"How dare you, to Lady DumaaaAAAHAaa! This human is unforgivaaAhahable!"
The undead, seemingly fed up by Aina's repeated outbursts, went on a rampage. Their movement was slow, but they were closing in on Takashi and the others, surrounding them.
(10… 20… no, many more! Dreadfully tons of them!)
It wasn't only the undead on deck. But all the undead and puppet dolls on board as well, as if they had come to their Lord's aid in her time of need. Excella let out a small cry of "Eep–!"
Takashi stood in front of the terrified Excella.
"I'll handle it!"
"B-But Lord Hero! This many is!"
Takashi almost said, "It's alright," but then shut his mouth.
(C-certainly, this many is maybe bad news…!)
Takashi tried to keep his composure so that Excella would not see through his inner trepidation. It would not be easy to deal with the horde of undead commanded by Duma.
(And even if I'm safe, Excella and Aina wouldn't be!)
There was a good chance that the undead that escaped him would head towards the two of them. Takashi was more nervous than he had been in his fight against Duma,
"…fuuu"
Aina's sigh could be heard. Then, she dashingly leaped in front of Takashi.
"You two, please stay back."
(Unbelievable! Such complacency!? Aina are, are you really that strong!?)
From her martial artist dress outfit, Takashi imagined Aina's offensive capabilities. However, unexpected events unfolded before his eyes.
The undead stopped moving in front of Aina.
"UnforgivaaAhahablee… but oooOhohH!"
"But, but, this tramp aaAaAHhh!"
""""C-Cuteee aaAaAHhh!"""
(EEEEHHHHHH!?)
The undead shouted in unison. A shock hit Takashi's body.
(C-Cute!? Cute, was it!?)
Aina was certainly cute even to the casual observer. Her looks were those of an idol, almost entertainer level. But that is only from a human's perspective.
(I can't believe a demon would look at a human other than me, and call them cute!)
It was something that had never happened since Takashi came to this world. And then, a further shock came after that.
Aina looked around at the undead with a glare, frowning while covering her nose.
"Ah, stinky. Y'all guys really stink. I feel like throwing up."
Aina's words made even the undead, who had been calling her "cute," angry.
"This arsehole oooOhohH!"
"I knew it, unforgivaaAhahablee!"
The undead tried to pounce on her. Aina, however, suddenly changed her expression. Aina's cheeks turned pink with embarrassment.
"But… that stench. I don't dislike it."
Once again, the group of undead stopped moving. Aina continued to speak as if reaffirming her own words.
"Yeah. Rather, I might like it!"
Aina fidgeted in a shy manner. Aina's gesture made all the undead begin to fall in love with her.
"Guuhh! I see, I see aaAaAHhh!"
"She's being shy EeehHHeh!"
"Fufu. Hey… can you guys, come over here for a sec…?"
"EEEHHHHH?"
"What is it? oooOhohH?"
Aina led the group of undead to line up at the edge of the deck. Of course, the sea was behind them.
(N-No way…!)
Takashi's fears were proved correct. The undead were calmly and obediently listening to Aina's words and lining up in a row,
"Seiyaaah–!!"
With a spirited shout, Aina shoved them with both hands and pushed them into the sea.
"No, Aina, what was that!? Was it your Push-Off Skill!?"
Excella exclaimed in surprise. Takashi was surprised as well, but his astonishment was due to the gesture Aina showed to the undead before she pushed them down.
"E-Excella…! T-This girl…!"
Aina wiped her hands with an embroidered napkin, soiled from pushing the undead off. After that, she said in a whispered manner.
""Pritis's 48 Gestures—Seventeenth Gesture, 'Revolving Shining Shyness (Tsumudere)'"
(I knew it!! This girl, is using Pritis!!)
The seventeenth gesture, 'Revolving Shining Shyness (Tsumudere),' was a Pritis that alternated between cold and warm attitudes to cajole the enemy.
"T-That can't be!! How could someone other than Lord Hero be using Pritis!?"
Excella was also astonished and raised her voice. However, Takashi's surprise was even greater.
"How come...? W-Wasn't Pritis, one-of-a-kind!?"
Takashi thought that Leelou had created Pritis just for him. And yet, hold a minute!! How can someone else use it!? Isn't it strange!?
Aina maintained a calm demeanor in the presence of these two very flustered people.
"Just like you said, Pritis is a one-of-a-kind, unparalleled technique that surpasses both offensive and magical power. However, you are not the only one who can manage to do it. It was given to me too! From Lady Leelou!"
"M-Master Leelou, gave Pritis to someone besides me…?"
During the middle of their conversation, the remaining undead on deck came to their senses and shouted.
"How dare you, to our mates oooOhohH!!"
"I'll bite you to death UUuUhghHh!"
More than fifteen undead were approaching once again. A horde of fiends, even larger than before. However, Aina did not show any signs of anxiety. Rather, she had such a leeway to raise the corner of her mouth.
"Observe me! This is MY power!"
